Some of that is so the camera picks everything up. They always have to balance "realism" with what the audience expects to see, or wants to see and what the technical limitations are. I still get a kick out of old movies when they have so shoot in car scenes at night. They always have a bright light shining in their faces otherwise the camera can't see into a dark car.
Preferred this one to the first, GB2 was a fully fledged ghostbusters adventure. People who think less of this movie don't understand that kids and adults were watching the real ghostbusters animated series for almost 4 years at this point so making the 2nd movie have characteristics and traits to the series was inevitable.
He's an super underrated actor that doesnt get talked about or mentioned enough. Although, he probably prefers TV roles than big screen roles. Most actors want to make it to the big screen. Top of hollywood earning big money etc etc but this man found his own space, his own niche and didnt bother trying to climb the ladder even further.
If I had a nickel for every time I was hypnotized into servitude by an ancient evil, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Bit surprised the cops stopped to question them. It’s New York. Roads are being worked on literally all the time. They got other shit to worry about. Guys who could be from ConEd digging down to work on wiring/pipes beneath the street you’d think wouldn’t be something they’d be overly concerned about.
This Scene is So Funny!! Harold was digging a hole while Dan and Bill got coffee for an hour then Dan goes down the hole to find The Slime and trouble starts and gets funnier!! Poor Dan calling for help when Harold and Bill forgot about him when The Police came
Yeah!! We're here to replace the old power line! which feeds Entire New York! The whole city's electricity goes through that pipe and it's too old and rusty! And we also have a lot of slime going through the sewers that is soooooo~ radioactive, it's glowing! The IAEA got lazy so we gotta work overtime to cover their asses! Ain't that right, Harry?!
Well there's so many holes in First Avenue, we really didn't think anyone would notice. (Courtroom starts laughing and audience members agree with statement.)
The pneumatic transit was a real thing, and it's remains are still buried under Warren Street/Broadway. The station used to be in what is now the basement of the building on that corner. But what about people who have no ability to have unique ideas? Shouldn't they be represented in the film industries products too? Isn't there a place in this world for simpletons to get on stage and be boring and bland for the entertainment of all their fellow simpletons?
I love how the cop says "tell me another one" and Peter immediately has one ready for him.
Please bill Murray had at least 20 more ready for him
I love his little pause before he goes on about with the gas leak
@@HGBMD LOL that is so True but he had to quickly think of 1 with that Small Pause he took
An hour to get coffee when the place is just across the street. Yep, they were definitely hanging out in there watching him work. LOL.
Sounds like a typical road crew, from what I see as a truck driver. One guy busting his backside, three guys "supervising".
@@JaxMerrickactually, one is supervising the worker, the other is supervising the supervisor.
@@JaxMerrick tiresome seeing this misconception so often repeated.
I love their random construiction worker attiutude. "Coz some diaper bag downtown is makin' us work on a Friday night!" "Am I right, Ziggy? ......YO!"
The fact he goes low with the Yo is what kills me.
I love how the entire city of New York apparently is powered by that one old line.
You obviously don't know infrastructure...

yeah were going to need a Deeper reading🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Keep that up mister, I'll hold you in contempt.
As someone that does surface mining Those uniforms are pretty clean for road work .....missed that as a kid
who told you to stop cutting?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Of course they're clean. They're faking municipal road work to investigate their PKE readings. We missed nothing.

Cop: You're not with ConEd or the phone company. We checked. So tell me another one.
Me: I'm with PG&E.
ahh yes. Pacific gas and electric in New York city, one of the Atlantic's largest ports. funny joke.
And remember....... These guys got a JURY trial, the very next day! The justice system works fast when you knock out the power lol.
"YO!" Could be my favourite Harold Ramis moment ever hahaha
Vigo the Carpathian is one of my favorite Villains ever. i just LOVE his whole "Aesthetic" lol
Just the boys out having some fun and then the cops come ruin it all, as usual.
For real. That's my Friday night. Hurtin' nobody, just tryna save the world!
Vigo: "On a mountain of skulls, in the castle of pain, I sat on a throne of blood!"
Me: "Really? You went to the Warp and met Khorne the blood god?"
In the novelization, the slime actually bubbles up after him as they're pulling him back up.

Dracula, Vigo, how many times has MacNicol been hypnotised into servitude by an ancient evil?

Yea fake as. No cop would ever stop for roadworks like that.
That traffic control setup for it is pretty terrible. Especially for New York City in the dark. A cop would realize that.
@@PeterviegalGiven that cops ticket jaywalkers all the time, is it that unusual?

New York's hottest club is Carpathia. This place has everything: a mountain of skulls, a castle of pain, a throne of blood.

Gotta love New York City. ❤
Poor Harold got the power lines wrong then Bill hits Harold on his head telling him that the power lines were on the other side. So Funny
I suppose the cop got fired for not stopping him earlier, makes sense because how else did he get to be Kramer's boss at H and H bagels
This wasn't even a closed set, the cops aren't actors. For realism, they just started digging a hole in a random New York street.
"Listen to me."
"What? Who?"
Lying cop... He asked why he was cutting, he didnt tell him to stop.

Obviously the power line was over there after all.
Why was it that the Ghostbusters took it upon themselves to dig a very big hole in the middle of First Avenue?
Well there's so many holes in First Avenue, we really didn't think anyone would notice. (Courtroom starts laughing and audience members agree with statement.)
Back in the days when movies were good and not all recycled/rebooted/remake pieces of trash.
Oh believe me, there was just as much recycled, rebooted, and remade trash back then.
Honestly the con work in the beginning is what likely gave them the time they needed to get the readings.
2:25 Yeah, I remember watching this when I was a kid who. What listening to it now you must be already off fucking rocker
The officer is Coach Smiley from Fresh Prince
0:11 that Mack CF engine is a wonder !
JO!💪
The cops should have known immediately it was a scam when all three of them squatted to inspect the hole.
Doubt cops would ever look into anything going on construction
Oh no, the lights went out on the twin towers!!
