I've had quite a few of the savory ones and a couple of the sweet too. I live in a smallish Southern city, but we have a few Chinese restaurants. One of which is called The Hong Kong Restaurant. They have the ubiquitous westernized buffet, but on the menu there's quite a few of these. Love the fish balls and stinky tofu, which reminds me of Limburger cheese. Once you get past the smell, it's wonderful. Although you're warned the wait time is long because they have to make it in a different kitchen so the smell doesn't permeate the entire restaurant. Course, when it comes to the table most everyone moves away. LOL! Cheers from Tennessee
Sounds like you’ve had some great experiences with Hong Kong street food! Stinky tofu is definitely one of those love-it-or-hate-it dishes, and it’s awesome that you’ve embraced it despite the smell. The comparison to Limburger cheese is spot on! Have you tried anything else from their menu that you'd recommend? Cheers!
@@FoodStorian The fish balls both plain and curry. It's not really a street food there, but on the appetizer menu. I'm not a fan of the westernized stuff, it's good, but when you dig a little deeper into the menu and ask the ladies that work front of house you'll find the good stuff. LoL. Cheers
