5 Tips For Waterfowl Scouting | How To Find More Ducks & Geese

While doing some preseason scouting I breakdown 5 quick tips I have for scouting for waterfowl. They include techniques and tricks that I put into action when scouting for duck or goose hunting and they have helped me find more birds while also being more successful when going to hunt them. The 2021 waterfowl season will be here very soon so be sure to get out in the field whenever possible and take plenty of notes. Great tips and can't wait to see the ones coming! A few of our big roosts are on refuges where we can't go so hard to get accurate numbers, have to watch the morning flights out of the roost!

We have the same issue in our area at times. As long as you can get a decent count and find out the direction they’re headed it’s good information in my opinion

All good scouting tips Thomas. Timing of scouting trips is most important. That first hour in the am.and the last 1.5 hours in the evenings is most likely periods of observing activity.
Mid day concentrations of ducks on water are day or evening roosts.
Connecting the dots of observation will ensure you identifying patterns and put you on the X.

@@HokeOutdoors I had a great year thanks for asking i have a few private holes i hunt mostly public but you have to get back as far as you can from the sky blasters let them work i only hunted 9 times only skunked once.
