Late Season DIVER DUCK HUNTING On Big Water!

Diver duck hunting on big water is something that I've been trying to learn how to do for the last couple seasons. Last December in Virginia we got the perfect opportunity to cut our teeth on some during a huge cold snap that locked up most of our inland water and pushed a lot of ringnecks, bluebills, and redheads into our area. On this hunt we setup a big spread in a cove that had been holding birds for a couple days, however with no wind during the morning it proved to be pretty difficult to pull birds off the big water. Thanks brother! Honestly I was a little disappointed in my shot calling on this hunt when watching it back. Didn't feel like I gave Nick, the new guy, enough heads up that we were about to shoot into those groups of divers. Felt pretty bad about squeezing off on that wigeon as quickly as I did too

I hate how when you get so close to a diver you don’t want to shoot it and ruin it only for it to wind up adding another 10 minutes to your wild duck chase, glad you got him and still had an intact bird 😂
