At character creation, select “The Dark Urge.” You still get to customize your race, appearance, class, etc., but being the “Dark Urge” character gives you tons of options & scenes & stuff that make for a cool, unique (and very brutal & dark) playthrough that you wouldn’t otherwise have access to in a “normal” playthrough. I did about a third of a Dark Urge playthrough but boy o boy, it got a little too evil & gruesome for me. Haha :) Of course, you also have the option of being a Dark Urge character who chooses to change their ways & fight the dark urges, as it were…. This is why everyone loves BG3: so many options, and endless replayability ⚔️👹 and, ya know, sexytimes & nudity & fun combat.

Please change your thumbnail motif, the flame decal is so distracting from the names and faces of the people you're interviewing. It took me too many passes to find the Sanderson interview (despite having watched it before) because my eyes just blurred over the consistent flame thumbnail background.
Ah, glad you enjoyed it! Honestly, I love that video and I'm so proud of it, but I do think I've gotten a bit better at these as time has gone on. Plus, I used to hate deleting scenes that were only meh funny, so a lot of times I'd leave them in and that was probably a mistake. Since I upload the deleted ones to Patreon now I have no qualms about it lol. It's like as long as SOMEBODY sees the hard work I put in for this meh result, I'm happy. Brains are weird. So yeah, I think they just get stronger as they go. I hear ya loud and clear on the thumbnails. I think this is like... my 3rd try at attempting to nail down a decent motif? I thought the flames might help convey the roast factor but.. eh, I don't know if it did. I've recruited Kayla to help me with figuring out a solid thumbnail style so... keep an eye out and let me know if you think the next iteration is any better!
Ideas to increase productivity: Force famous authors to fly to you. (also they could pay you for the privilege of being on the show.) If your wife was a famous author, that's 1 more episode right there. (would be much easier to get her to pay to be on the show too) If possible, travel to a future where the videos have already been edited. Saves you a lot of time.
dear god these are genius the first one i actually did try and weirdly enough people haven't been super keen on the idea? my wife is actually in the middle of editing her first book, so we are 100% aligned on that one, good call i had not considered trying to travel to the future where the videos have already been edited, but i am certainly open to the idea and I think that's genius so if you have any further advice on how to achieve that i am happy to listen. or buy your ten hundred dollar course on how to time travel if you have one of those available.

There's a market for this series for sure, the audience just need to find you. I'm not an expert, but it might not hurt to slip in occasional videos like this that are more "you" focused and don't take as much time or money. You could also include your face or a pixel pern on the thumbnails. People may click on videos for the famous author names or faces, but they'll stay for you.
Well, thank you for saying so. Yeah, getting yourself TO the audience is definitely difficult. You can't really self-promo so it's like... make the best content ya can and hope people shout about it all over the place lol. I actually have like... a whole video essay I've written about cosmic horror. I also have a very long script talking about the Blade movies, lol. Both kind of random, but I want to make them both one day. I meant to make them both last year, actually, but then all the interview stuff started happening and I really wanted to keep a consistent upload schedule of *some kind* so I kind of just doubled down on the interviews. I have lots more ideas for things, serious video essays, silly/stupid videos, and more funny bookish content. At this point it's all about finding more time... I didn't mention it in the update video, but I started paying my cousin whose about to graduate with a film major to help me do the "staging" part of the video editing. Like she goes through and does all the cutting between cameras, cleans up the audio, etc. Sort of the grunt work that takes a lot of time but doesn't have a huge impact on the style of the final video, if that makes sense. I started paying her to do that this month so I can have enough time to write more scripts for some of the cons I have coming up this year. As far as thumbnails go, I'm not totally satisfied with the ones I'm doing either. I'm getting Kayla (Daniel's gf) to help me out with that so you'll have to let me know what you think about the next style of thumbnail! But thank you for taking the time to give me feedback like this, it's much appreciated. Takes a village to raise a Jackson, or something like that.

I have a million ideas for my own content, but time limits me to focus on writing my book and just experimenting with videos/content for now. With time limitations, I think doubling down on the interviews was a great plan and with a little help from Goblin Village you'll get there.

There's a market for this series for sure, the audience just need to find you.
I'm not an expert, but it might not hurt to slip in occasional videos like this that are more "you" focused and don't take as much time or money. You could also include your face or a pixel pern on the thumbnails. People may click on videos for the famous author names or faces, but they'll stay for you.
Well, thank you for saying so. Yeah, getting yourself TO the audience is definitely difficult. You can't really self-promo so it's like... make the best content ya can and hope people shout about it all over the place lol.
I actually have like... a whole video essay I've written about cosmic horror. I also have a very long script talking about the Blade movies, lol. Both kind of random, but I want to make them both one day. I meant to make them both last year, actually, but then all the interview stuff started happening and I really wanted to keep a consistent upload schedule of *some kind* so I kind of just doubled down on the interviews. I have lots more ideas for things, serious video essays, silly/stupid videos, and more funny bookish content. At this point it's all about finding more time...
I didn't mention it in the update video, but I started paying my cousin whose about to graduate with a film major to help me do the "staging" part of the video editing. Like she goes through and does all the cutting between cameras, cleans up the audio, etc. Sort of the grunt work that takes a lot of time but doesn't have a huge impact on the style of the final video, if that makes sense. I started paying her to do that this month so I can have enough time to write more scripts for some of the cons I have coming up this year.
As far as thumbnails go, I'm not totally satisfied with the ones I'm doing either. I'm getting Kayla (Daniel's gf) to help me out with that so you'll have to let me know what you think about the next style of thumbnail!

@@AuthorJacksonDickert Finding time really is the biggest hurdle! I have a million ideas for my own content, but time limits me to focus on writing my book and just experimenting with videos/content for now. With time limitations, I think doubling down on the interviews was a great plan and with a little help from Goblin Village you'll get there.

the other day this dude asked me how i was such a handsome little guy and honestly that just made my whole day i feel like that was my favorite interview this year. felt really good walking away from the mirror after that interaction.
