Fantastic interview and it’s good to see some much needed representation for bald men within the fantasy genre, breaking the stigma that all fantasy authors have hair.
Noticed a typo in the Baldtree Cinematic Universe Planned Timeline, in 2024 it won't be "Legends and Lattes: Remastered", it'll actually be "Legends and Lattes: Lemastered". Easy mistake, hope this helps with your spindly little wrists.
Hello, and thank you for the feedback. I always strive to make my videos the best they can be. I am disappointed in myself for making this mistake. I have no excuse for it, other than that my spindly little wrists got tired and I became complacent as a result. I will spend the weekend reflecting on my life choices. Good day.
LOL - this is hilarious. Was great to meet Travis - finally! - at Dragon Con last year. He's done some work with us at Soundbooth Theater - he's so talented. And funny!
Ridiculously talented and funny and kind. I can't think of anything negative to say about him, and that is the thing about him I despise the most. He's too powerful. He must be stopped.
@@AuthorJacksonDickert alright, which concept are we going with: 1) A Goliath family's farm is going downhill as a drought enters it's second year. After selling what's needed to pay their bills, there's just enough leftover to feed the family. Old Ganthor doesn't have it in him to keep up the fight much longer, but his daughters see an opportunity to turn things around when one of them stumbles into an old distilling unit in an abandoned barn on the outskirts of town. Grandma dusts off an old family recipe, which kicks them into gear to ask their neighbors for their secret family recipes. Seeing the bigger picture, the girls set out to save the whole town. Eventually, they create a host of premium brews they sell far and wide, allowing them to afford the high import cost of basic necessities that they share with everyone to keep the town going through the drought. 2) A wave of prohibition crosses the land as clerics and paladins from a new religion take hold and outlaw the consumption and production of alcohol. This causes several businesses to shut down or downsize. A group of friends, maidens all down on their luck now, decide to fight the system. They have an abandoned store with a basement, and distilling equipment left abandoned that they know they can get a hold of. This eclectic group of halflings, dwarfs, and orcs are hells bent to show the new order that they can't kill the spirit of the town. Maybe they can even get the stuffy clergy to let their hair down in the end.
@@christhewritingjester3164 dang you went hard on these I think I'm partial to the first one. Feels like it has bigger mass market appeal without as much stress/conflict in the read. Plus on the first one they could even go beyond just importing the cost of basic necessities and go so far as to develop infrastructure like plumbing to bring in clean water and keep everyone alive and eventually bring the farms back to their original glory in short, I think you might be a genius. that's a real book plot, i'm impressed 😂 If you're excited about it, you should write it!!
@@AuthorJacksonDickert lol, man I play D&D and creating characters and backgrounds is a ton of fun for me. This could be my character's backstory or recurring side quest for a party. I'm partial to the 1st one as well, especially if we're taping into any sort of cozy feelings. I like the further development of the town that you're bringing into it. Just need to sort out if we're going with an old west or medieval vibe as both are speaking to me right now. I could do this as my fantasy intro book, but that's at least a couple years away. I'm doing my sci-fi intro books right now (1st of a novella trilogy is done, Daniel Greene actually reviewed it last year on his channel and I got done revising it recently). Hopefully I can get those back on track, then do my sci-fi novel, then the above idea. I'll start up a doc for notes!
This is a great idea for a series and I hope more authors or other personalities get on board, but there is a reason Between Two Ferns was under 10min an episode. 20min is definitely too long.
Friday, October 6th we'll have an interview from author of the Frost Files, Jackson Ford!
What authors do you want to see on the show?
Jim Butcher.
Joe Abercrombie, Fonda Lee, or Neil Gaiman would be awesome!
Steven Erikson!
The reason I learned about Travis Baldree - Will Wight
Hear me out--Andrezej Sapkowski
I don’t know why you’re doing this to us but please continue
you got it, boss. I mean, bross.
Fantastic interview and it’s good to see some much needed representation for bald men within the fantasy genre, breaking the stigma that all fantasy authors have hair.
Easily the best advertisement for legends and lattes, already ordered 10 copies
make sure you get the version that contains the very graphic deleted scene of the burnt down leprechaun orphanage
Why do I feel like I learn more about these authors in this context than in a normal interview?
Finally, a journalist unafraid to ask the REAL questions.
These interviews perfectly encapsulate the same chaotic energy and dry wit as Between Two Ferns, I love it so much. Subscribed.
And without being cringe! That's the most impressive part to me

Not the interview we wanted, but the interview we deserved.
Wow I can’t wait for “Heroes and Heating Pads” to hit the shelves!! Finally some characters I can relate to on a couch cushion level!!
Can't believe he refused to take the wig off
I dream of one day doing an interview with you.
just keep on writing my friend ( '')7
keep doing this please, I'll watch them all.
Was expecting a Bald-tree, but got the author of my fav new book. Not a bad deal.

This is amazing. I wonder if you could get Brandon Mull or Christopher Paolini or Brian Mclellan on
Eh he got Paolini on
This is hilarious and amazing! Thank you for doing these interviews!
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed! Thank you for watching :)

Between Two Perns may be my new favorite video series.
you're my new favorite commenter, you BINGED these and left MULTIPLE comments? my algo hero 🥰
Incredible, had me crying there with the receding hare line form
Best thing to happen at DragonCon might just be this interview! Of course, it might not.
I've never laughed so much while simultaneously feeling bored in my entire life.
“Despite how grating your voice is in general” sent me 😂
what can I say, I call em like I see em
I broke at receding hair line 🤣🤣
Listening to this at 1.75 speed was crazy
You got me at Weenie Hut Jr's
Listening to the interview I just realised that currently I’m listening to Cradle which is actually narrated by Travis Baldree
Is Jackson "Spindly Wrist" Dickert your boxing name when you inevitably get called out to do a charity boxing match by one of these authors?
at 100k subs I'll get "SPNDL RIST" tattooed across my knuckles as a contingency for this very scenario. (two letters will have to share a knuckle)
okay the audible play speed commentary is too accurate (as I'm watching the video at 1.75xspd)
Maidens and Microbrews is actually pretty good...
If you write it, I'll write a foreword for it

The length was fine. Just watch it on 1.5x speed.
