Sennheiser IE300 Review & Measurements

  • Sennheiser’s latest audiophile IEM -- the Sennheiser IE 300 -- is a very strong performer at a reasonable price. With a new and very interesting, innovative acoustic resonator design, Sennheiser was able to refine the IE300's treble response. They also opted to move the IE 300 more firmly into a reference tuning, and did so effectively.
In this video, we take a close look at (and inside) the Sennheiser IE 300, and also show several measurements worth discussing.
    We're discussing the Sennheiser IE300 at Head-Fi.org: www.head-fi.or...

Finally converted to MMCX. I think this will help their sales since you can use better cables, like Cables from Shure

Just bought Final A4000. Not sure this will be worth double the cost.

I got the A4000 and have to say it sounds like it costs 5 times its price. Looking at the graph, I wouldn't like this 300

How does it compare to IE800 , thank you

Now you are trying to compare Audi with Mercedes. I would be rather be interested in comparing IE 300 with IE 80 S. I have IE 800, IE 800 S and IE 80 S. But if IE 300 don't sound better than IE 80 S, then I would rather wait for their more upper range IEM. IE 800 and IE 800 S still satisfy me more than any other IEM on the planet.

Shure Aonic 4 or IE300? That's the main question as they both came out with new IEMs after a long period. Unfortunately, nobody is paying attention to these great iem manufacturers, instead reviewing all the chi-fis that come out every 4-6 months

the problem is that shure and senh is not a great iem manufactures :) their iems are pretty much mediocre in overall terms and very bad given the price.

Both are priced similarly employing new technologies. Would be interesting to know the comparison but also between E535 and Aonic 4 in terms of Vocals, detailing,

I highly doubt it's "better". It's really all subjective anyway....it's all about finding the IEM with the sound sig YOU prefer. Some people may prefer the way a pair of Beats IEMs sound compared to a highly regarded audiophile IEM. And this person wouldn't be wrong for feeling this way. It's all about what you like, so try as many as you can!
I own the Sony IER-M9 and it's among my favorites. Love it.

If they are anything as far as build quality as the old ie80, I'd disagree. Now I have no idea if that'd be the case, but my old ie80 I had for 5 years or maybe more (only had to replace the cables a few times, before eventually one of the drivers stopped working, I used them 24/7 for everything, dropped them in the floor a million times etc). Currently im cycling thru senh. momentum (over/around-ears, cabled) I buy "used", and I can tell you they are shit (relatively) in terms of how long they last, the receiver for the cable keeps getting janky and there's no fix for it so I've been replacing the whole thing every 1.x years. Somehow it is still not Harman-like, i prefer the bass and treble of IE400pro, but IE400pro and IE300 will still have mid issues, not enough in around 2-4khz. This may be regarded as "TRASH" by some people.(for example, Sean Olive)

I like the plastic color, no way I'd pay more than $100 for this though.
Sorry, but this is not "reasonable".
They seriously need to rethink their pricing strategy. The IE400 Pro dropped from 350 to 200 after just 4 months.
And then they push out this thing which is basically a Momentum TWS 2 (a 230€ wireless earphone, same 7mm driver) but without any of the costly tech. Make it make sense.
How exactly do they justify the markup from the IE40 Pro (one third the price)?
