Really wish they kept the sprung earcups of their other models. Its a small thing but having their cups angled nicely every time you hang them up was a nice touch. Tiny gripe aside I'll be grabbing the Hadenys for sure.
Very very nice comparison video. I personally have my Focal Elegia as my go to and absolutely love them after some EQ combined with burn in has changed the sound profile to something I just keep going back to. Also really enjoying the FiiO FT1 much more than I thought, however it cannot compare to the Focal.
I’m actually loving the colour way and design language on both these headphones using the Bathys platform. The lighter weight of the headphones and smaller form factor of the carry case is a definite plus. My question now is: Where do the Hadenyz and Azurys fit in the Focal lineup? Are they supposed to replace older models or complement the existing ones?
Always enjoy your first looks, Jude! My Focal Bathys and Clear MGs are my pairs of choice on the go and home. Very interesting that Focal is releasing these at an awesome price point. I guess they will compete primarily with the Sennheiser HD6xx line?
Based on price, I don't think that's an unfair assertion (what you said about the Sennheiser HD6XX line). That is, I think someone considering any of the Sennheiser HD6XX headphones should also audition these (especially the open-back Hadenys).
Keep feeding the addiction. I currently have the Bathys, Celestee, Elear, Elegia, Clear OG and Radiance. Still plan on buying the Clear MG, MG Pro, Stellia and Utopia's. Had to take a break from the headphones to buy guitar equipment. Looks I'll be adding these to the list.
Yea, give me something lightweight for the office and balanced setting. Hmmm. But audio-technica msr7b Sennheiser 620s Are interesting competitors for the office at cheaper prices.
Frequency Response and usability with other dacs and amps. Azurys measures more closely to a harman and audiophile like tuning compared to the slightly consumer-ish Bathys. Bathys is meant to be used with its dac mode and kinda ruins the dacs function if it’s used with another since you would be putting a dac on top of another.
I wish he did a comparison between the two. I imagine that the sound signature is bassier and warmer on the Bathys with less resolution and separation.
@residentzero Yeah, OK... I wonder what flavour of the Bathys he's comparing them to.. BT or wired, using the hearing optimisation or not, using the easily adjustable basic EQ or not? In 10 minutes you can bring the Bathys to sound mostly to your liking without using a PC to eq etc..

Focal needs to make their earpads cheaper and more available

You're seriously selling these to me rn

I assume compliment, fitting at lower price points than their current lineup.

I need a Grande Utopia.
New Focals! 🥰
OMG, so excited for these, I have the Clear MG and want these

@@JohnOBryan focal headphones are works of art. Celestee and Stellia when displayed are beautiful
thank you thank you thank you for including mdaqs scores!
Those look nice
Seems like a response to MM100/MM500 from Audeze.
Also wow, Jude prefers the Bathys over the Lyric 2 and DCA E3 👀
@Maver1ck911, I do love the Bathys for what it is, but where did you pick up that I prefer the Bathys over the Lyric 2 and Dan Clark Audio E3?
@headfi was merely inference by omission. Seems your comment was not all inclusive 🫣
good job!!!! me it's open air! how do you compare to Philips Fidelio X2HR ? thank you!
Is it wired balanced?
Had to return Bathys. They are way smaller than then Elegia.
Can you play video games and watch movies on the focal hadenys. And how would they be
Lovely set of headphones

What's the point of the Azurys when you can get the Bathys at a very small price premium, apart from the Pro work you mentioned?

Better tuning/sound in general.
Because they sound different maybe?

The only Focals I kinda liked were the Clear MG. Unless these new cans don't have that Focal metallic sound, I will likely pass.
Damn, Focal should continue to improve the electronics of Bathys, instead of going back to wired headphones.
im 100% certain we'll see a Bathys 2 later this year
Tongue twister!!
