#Sennheiser #IE300 #REVIEW

It's kind of sad that a lot of the comments are not about the IEMs he was reviewing but for other popular stuff. I thought the review was well done and the praise for it was high (I've always wanted a HD600 in a portable option so that certainly sounds like high praise to me), I've also seen the problem where I couldn't get a good fit with the stock tips regardless of what I did so I appreciate the warning on it. I did read from the graphs of how this IEM looked like (it has a V shaped sound with a treble emphasis) but you answered the questions I was curious about.
a headphone called IE300 and price is $300, very creative sennheiser
Yes, veery expensive. Just buy blon.
@@batscaped1520 I didnt say they were expensive, its that they are called IE300, IE300 has 300 in the name, and the price is 300$, so, a coincidence I imagine is that its name is related to the current price of the product
@@batscaped1520 wise choice tbh
Guess what, the IE 800 S cost $799 kek
@@lateknights1 Sennheiser is getting extremely creative with their IEM names, who could have guessed that?
My problem with IEMs and CIEMs is that on long listening session, my ears build up a lot of wax and I had some problems with the drivers clogging up!
My solution was to mod my favorite tips of all time, the SONY hybrids (EP-EX10A), and remove the filter from the the OSTRY OS100 Blue tips. No more wax clogging the earphones, and they don't affect the sound whatsoever!
If you plan to do the same mod, get some tips with a long bore length, since the filter is about 3mm in length. You could possibly accomplish the same result with some cerumen filters for hearing aids, but I'm not sure about the sound quality, although some CIEM manufacturers use those.
5:46 using the microphone as a rotating platform for small iems... damn Josh that's smart
Wowza
Got to try these a few days back. Best part is the super comfy fit and its tremendous bass response. Thanks for your review!!
Note that the MMCX connectors are recessed and not compatible with a typical MMCX connector (at least none of the MMCX connectors that I have). If you want to run it balanced, Sennheiser states on the IE 300 product page that they will have balanced cables available. Not sure how much those will cost or when they will be available for purchase.
Love the 300 the most comfortable IEM's I own and finding them my go too.
is this still a good option in 2024 for $120 or can I get something else for this price
These seem to be have discontinued. Can you please review the IE200 which replaced this model.
mine arrive monday. HYPE FR.
Edit: I hardly, not use them lmao
Great video as always Josh. Would love to see a comparison video between these and the Final a400’s!
I want to know too
Hello There,
Just a quick note:
None/most of the links below the Sennheiser one at the top are not working. You might want to refresh them. :)
Thanks again for your reviews. Keep up with the good work and stay safe.
Best regards,
Hey Josh, since you like the DT1990 so much, I think you'd really like the Tygr 300 R. The best way I can describe the Tygr is that it sounds similar to the DT1990, however it's not as bright, has slightly more bass, and has a little less detail. For me, the Tygr is the $200 king, so you should give it a shot while they're back in stock!
Can you review both the momentum wireless 1 and 2 earbuds and compare them to this? Thanks. :)
it would be interesting to compare this to the TheiAudio offerings
Love the Sound Quality of your Video quite Bassy. im listening on Philips SHE8500 btw.
Great Video. Would you be able to put a review up for the Sennheiser IE500 pro's?
I love these. Bought them to replace the ie80. I had a hard time finding a tip that fit well and almost sent them back. I still had the ie80 box and found tips from that worked really well. I’m keeping them again. :).
Update. 28 days in the right earbud stopped working.
@@boydcummings6559 What did you end up doing?
@@angelocityxd on the replacement pair. So far so good. I still like them.
@@boydcummings6559 Do you think they're worth $300?
They seem fine but I'm not sure 😅
is this still a good option in 2024 for $120 or can I get something else for this price
i bought these yesterday. first, i didnt like them, then used comply foams. they were good, but not a great upgrade over my beyerdynamic DX 160. today i fiddled with the seal, and jeezus they blow anything i have heard from my previos iems. They even beat my opeb full size fidelio x2 away in many ways, addictive. i use a portable dqc/amp and i am using MQA through tidal. my music has never been better
do you still use mqa, 9 months after your initial comment? just curious, i ended up just settling for tidal hifi myself.
@@sexdefender86 yup MQA all the way, but I'm running tidal through UAPP and not through the tidal app itself, it's superior. Also, I'm using an external dac/amp cuz without a dac/amp MQA will be lost. Here is when to upgrade your tidal subscription, when you get a dac/amp that renders MQA, and if you listen to music in a quiet room most of the time (like before bed). If you are using your earphones outside mostly, the external noise will make MQA sound like your hifi subscription and you won't notice a difference.
@@dhiaoshaish Interesting, thanks for the reply. What is UAPP? i cant find anything by that acronym that has anything to do with audio.
@@sexdefender86 USB Audio Player Pro, it's an android app that will eliminate the android's involvement in the processing of the MQA, when you use it you get pure MQA out of the USB port. My DAC/AMP will only recognize the music is MQA only when I play it through UAPP. Android (among other things) will limit the Kilohertz (KHz) of your music (a bottle neck that will not pass MQA to your gear). Apple phones will do the same, but at least they support Apple's high res music. funny thing about most people using apple is that they'll sub for Apple's high res music, but then use wireless headphones to listen LMAO. By the way, Apple's high res music is superior to all high res music out there including MQA, not according to me, but according to the guys who make the world's best headphones (Abyss headphones) and i trust everything they say, i don't know anyone who knows more about sound than they do, i recommend subscribing to their channel, you will learn A LOT!
Wow.. I never tought eartips can have such a big impact.. I was looking for something that i can use with my phone but allso at home when its to loud (construction, road or neighbors) for my openback headphones.
I tought ok.. now its time to try some in ear headphones, they are small and light and fit in every pocket lets give them a chance.
I decided to buy the IE 300 and i was a little bit disappointed, because i am not a bassy guy but at the same time a was very impressed (technically) how such a small thing can create a bass like that. After watching your video i decided to by some comply aftermarket eartips, and ohhh my god its like day and night.
The stock foamy eartips are kind of closed inside with just 3 little holes so my though was to by eartips with a completly open channel to slightly reduce bass.
Now i have a slightly better noise cancelation and because of the bass reduction i can use them as an secondary option also for gaming 👍👍👍
Just got these they are freaking insanely good!!!!
is this still a good option in 2024 for $120 or can I get something else for this price
Yeah, they got the most comfortable design, and I bought 4 ie series iems they are just the best.
Try westone
Love the look of these and the cable. Don't expect them to be much of an upgrade compared to the FH5 but I still want them
Josh, nice review. How do these compare to the Moondrop Aria’s?
This…
Hey Josh did you hear about the new revision of the LCD-X? It changed the FR quite a bit in a positive way and I think it's worth looking into. The changes were magnet structure and the pads.
Great stuff as always. Thanks Josh.
These sound amazing with stock tips but like them with AZLA Xlastic tips (Ss or MS sizes) you get refined bass, reduced mid bass, mids and more transparent treble. Sound doesn't break up on high volume which says a lot as far as design and quality.
Hello Joshua congratulations on your videos, they are awesome 😎 can you direct me to the link of the final audio ear tips? I’m looking at Amazon but I don’t known which ones to buy to use with the Sennheiser ie 300. Thank you
Great review! Just for the bass: this or Airpod Max?
For bass only dt 770
Hi Joshua, i need your opinion. i got the ie300 i have been running them balanced. i love them as they feel effortless, detailed and smooth. i have been itching to get the ie600, can you plz explain what I should expect from the ie600 coming from the ie300 in terms of sound?
is this still a good option in 2024 for $120 or can I get something else for this price
@manaspatil7926 yes 100% but where are they for that price i wanna get one myself if so. I think for that price you get only the ie200
How are these comparing to Sennheiser's other 300$ IE8/80/80s ? Also how are they comparing to Blon 03? Do they have thicker more present mids than Blons? I find Blon sound sig almost perfect, but mids are too shallow/missing.
I'd love you see you review the Moondrop Blessing 2 Dusk
i have the ie300, which final audio tips do you suggest?
Hi Joshua love ur video ! Can u suggest another IEM at 300$ price range .which can outshine IE300 in terms of tighter bass and solid mids , or is this the best in class ? thanks again !
Hi, IF most of time, we listen to fast pop, hard-rock, hair metal music, like Michael Jackson, Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi.... such things, which one performance better? ie200 and ie300... thanks for you help!
Thanks Josh, interesting take on these iems.
Probably requested before but a review of Thieaudio's tribrids Monarch and Clairvoyance would be awesome.
Hey Josh,
These are on sale right now on Amazon for $200 given that you recommended these for $300 a year ago. Are they a steal at $200 or better things have come along at the price point?
Unusual question, but how do you think this would be for FPS gaming? I play Call of Duty/Warzone, Valorant and Apex and I'm wanting a VERY comfortable IEM with loads of directional qualities for sound queues. Think this would be the one?
Keep up the great work!!
Hi Joshua Valour. Is this IE300 sennheiser is the current recommended IEM ? Any specific reason? Considering it’s priced less and there are many costlier iems with multiple driver
I would really excited to see your Illumination review Josh!! I dont its coming out when you respond me in the comments :)
i dont do reviews i just score things, but theyll give insight on how i think abt certain iems
Great review!
Josh! Could you test the Sennheiser IE 800 S too? I've got it and I would be very corious what you could tell us about this awsome headphone...
Can you also review the JH AUDIO Billie Jean. They're a budget option from JH, and I would liek to purchase them, but I would love to hear your thoughts
is this still a good option in 2024 for $120 or can I get something else for this price
tell me where i can get it foe that price? seems like you are shopping for knock offs. Now is it worth it, hell yes, I would pay full msrp if i can find them.
Can you compare these to the FiiO FD5 or do a separate review on them?
I feel like it's a missed opportunity.
I have both the IE300 and FD5, I slightly prefer my FD5.
Joshua, between the IE300, IE400 Pro and IE500 Pro, which one would you recommend?
Ok, i'm actually interested in the IE600, I'm interested in hearing your view on those. Btw, as far as IEM's go, would IE600 range or above benefit from an amplifier? Does an amplifier purely boost the volume of the earphones? I am running them through my PC's USB via the Rode NT USB Mini microphone's headphone output and I'm probably using 10% volume. So I have no issue in that regard but I'm interested in hearing my IEM's, with the benefit of a $1,000+ headphone amp/DAC such as from Burson (though I still don't understand how you would connect it to your PC with no digital inputs?) but don't know if it would improve the clarity and enjoyability of the IEM's or simply boost its volume which isn't needed? I'm currently using Meze Audio Rai Penta and will likely buy the Sennheiser IE600.
You dont need an amp or any of that nonsense for iems
Thanks for your review. I’m ordering a pair
My friend, have you placed an order yet?
@@yangyangxiao9602 yes, love it! i use the ifi hipdac with it
How do these compare to China-Fi's? Blon BL03, ZSX, Moondrop etc? I'm just getting into IEMs now and looking to learn more. I'd rather stay away from Chinese products if possible, but if the quality really is that much more value, i'll go China. If not i'd rather stick with the reliability of a Sennheiser
Ok let’s go: i have many, and i mean many earbuds (more than 25). Some cost me 500$ canadian, but i don’t find the GRAAL yet. Those earbuds have good sound, but when they have a lot of bass, the sound is not clear and the soundstage is not very wide. When the soundstage is wide, they lack in bass…tired of buying earbuds…
So maybe iem will sound better? :)
If you take ie300 from sennheiser and compare to an earbuds like b&o eq or sony xm4, is there a big difference in terms of sound quality?
And if want to spend 400$ for an iem, which one is the best for that price? Timeless 7htz? Sennheiser ie300? Or other iems? So, will wait for your thoughts …. Thank you and sorry for bad english i speak french :)
Thank you haha
One year later, nobody answered me, not even the owner of this channel. So, this channel sucks !!! A lot 😂
Dude. Awesome review. Really thinking about getting these. Have you listened to trance? I listen to stuff like that pretty much all the time. Not only bass is important but the other instruments need to sound clear. How do you feel about this ??
edms think youll prefer straightforward bassy cans
if you had a chance could you review the TFZ essence and compare it to the moondrops starfield. debating which i should get.
Which you recommend these IEMs for gaming?
By the way you really should review the Moon Blessing 2 Dusk. Maybe it might be your best flagship killer
Overhyped
@@ammar5400 have you auditioned it yrself?
@@krayozmines no but I'm pretty sure it's another trash chi-fi and shouty iem.
@@ammar5400 in that case, you can't just make claims without testing it yrself.
@@ammar5400 you totally cannot sure how they are by just judging them chi-fi. Change your point of view my friend, you are on the wrong way.
Would these be good for fps gaming?
Will these sound good if I listen to a lot of metal/screamo and punk rock?
i tuned mine with the final tips as well, couldn't stand the sibilance with the stock tips which made the mids sound more recessed! the downside with these iems is that they are almost identical to the ie400pro which you can find on sale cheaper than these
These are on sale now for $200. Better price point?
can you do a review on the Audio Technica ATH-E40? they're around a hundred dollars and is the cheapest of the E series IEMs. I actually have them but I wanna see your take on these IEMs. Plus there isn't a lot of reviews of these in YT. Though there are written reviews on HeadFi.
Thank you! What do you think IE300 vs Moondrop Starfield?
Good question
Completely different tuning. The IE300 is quiet V-shaped. Sadly this review is not good. I can't believe he doesn't notice that the treble is elevated and very airy
I think yall should check out the Acoustune IEMs line ups. Seems like they’re mostly popular in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and their hometown, Japan.
Where is the HP-3 review you posted on the 6th?
A bit late to the party, but I'm in dilemma if I should get these or the IE 100 that comes with a Bluetooth controller as well. The Bluetooth might be nice when doing activities
Ie300 were discontinued before your question. Sennheiser iems have build quality issues and will need replacing within a year or two. Get maze alba if you want something similar in sound and size
These are on sale for $200. Should I pay the extra $50 over the new IE 200's that are coming out soon?
How do you feel those hold up in 2023? Been looking for an everyday IEM and I have trouble peacing reviews in time in relation to one another.
All of the ie family have build quality issues.
What tips do you use again?
Type E tips are goat. I too, use them on my ie300s.
is this still a good option in 2024 for $120 or can I get something else for this price
All the links for your top 3 equipment aren't working?
Question is now, how do they compare to the ie 80s? I want to switch soon just for fun.
but why don't you make comparisons with in ears of the same price as mangrid tea or tin p2 or dunu zen?

How would you say these are for gaming sound stage and imaging?
Honestly surprised that you like the cable. It has really bad microphonics and is difficult to swap because the connector is recessed.
@spartanV48 Man I like watching him but the fact that he didn’t mention either of these problems kind of lost some points from me :/ the microphonics of this cable completely ruin the experience and always takes me out of the music. Usually I laugh when someone mentions cables because I’ll just replace them but I haven’t figured out any way to replace this cable due to the connectors
Did you change your camera for this?
Are those suitable for DJ mixing
My Tin HiFi 4s are really bright after adding a 6XX to my collection. I just went looking for the IE300 as it sounds good, but only found the IE 400 Pro (at $350) and started wondering if anybody had given them a listen?
Try Moondrop blessing 2 dusk, its the benchmark of 300 dollar iem
depends on the volume of bass your ear requires.
Can you do the review of Beyerdynamic Soul Byrd ?? I really looking forward to buy those and I need to know what is your opinion about that..

Lol looks at my 80 weeknd songs on my phone.🤣 Would you say that it damages the experience or just sounds bizarre
I just got a pair for my daughter for $200. Super deal at that price!
Can this match the old IE800?
Hmm, I bought these and have been extremely disappointed. I’m not experiencing any of the bass that you did and I’m not a bass guy. I’ve tried several of the tips that came with it and I’m currently running the largest ones, I may have to try the tips off of my cheap Skullcandy earbuds to see if that makes any difference.
I’m left speechless! There’s a reason you’re the best at this! I can’t thank you enough for that tip replacement idea. I grabbed the tips off of my cheap Skullcandy earbuds and transformed these IEM’s into something magical. Sennheiser needs to get its act together and supply some decent tips. I was on the verge of writing to them to express my extreme disappointment. This is from a Sennhiser fan. I own three different pairs of over the ear headphones topping at the HD 650s. Thanks again Joshua!

If you wish to change the noisy, unwieldy, uncomfortable cable, I've found the NICEHCK 16 Core Silver Plated Cable 3.5/2.5/4.4mm Plug MMCX/2Pin
2.5mm plug with MMCX fits perfectly and you get the balanced feed too. The cable doesn't rotate like the stock one, but as there aren't formed ear hooks on the NICEHCK and the buds are so light, it doesn't matter.
Please review the Layla aions!:)
