The light is captured very well, particularly the highlights on the girl's skirt in the foreground

Very well done, wet in wet figures are so difficult for me but you pulled it off with ease. So each figure was at one point in the real scene and you kind of made a snapshot in your head of their pose, or got the major shapes in while they happened to be in roughly the same position? was there a much imagination involved in terms of pose and clothing?

Thanks, with the figures I normally start referencing a particular person but I often will use other people in the scene as references to help, especially with capturing the shadows and overall light effect as people in a similar position will be getting lit by the sun in a similar way so it's not a problem if the person you started painting moves out of sight also sometimes I will start painting a figure and change the clothing to that of someone else that I see if I think it'll look better. I also end up making quite a bit up when it comes to the figures. I do quite a bit of life drawing which I find useful for capturing the gesture of a figure quickly and also helps familiarize you with the proportions which important factors to making the figures look convincing in the painting. I hope this helps :)

@@GeorgeFrederickThomas I do some figure drawing but from photos and not very much gestural or 'compression' focused which sounds like it would help with landscape paintings. Thanks for the insight!
