- One of Boston's trackless trolleys made its way to Chicago! This Neoplan AN440LF-ETB has found a new home at the Illinois Railway Museum's bus collection. The bus is currently not fully ready for museum revenue service but we got the chance to take a ride on it as it was being worked on. Enjoy this brief video of it moving around the museum on July 4th!

AN460LF's are now old enough to be in museums, eh? Goodness. I miss them but don't miss how loud they (diesel models) were.
The ones used in Boston from 2003 to 2017 were actually CNG models, not diesel.
I remember that day! It was hot on the bus, lol
I was a trackless operator and drove this bad boy on the last ever trackless trolley pull out (not on the schedule, mind you, since it was OT/fill in work) from North Cambridge to Harvard lower busway to run a 71 to Watertown, on the last day of service, 3/12/2022. FYI, the sign codes for the routes you would have seen this coach running on are...
4331: Not In Service
711: 71 Harvard
710: 71 Watertown Sq
731: 73 Harvard
730: 73 Waverley
771: 77 Harvard
777: 77A North Cambridge
721: 72 Harvard
720: 72 Aberdeen Ave (used to be Huron Ave)...
There are also some other codes like 6: No Stops, 7: Instruction Bus, etc.
Moved to Chicago and use to ride these all day when I lived in Boston! Good memories.
Great video
What camera do you use? I would love to purchase one!
