    Please practice better explanations for people who are not looking at the screen as you change or are not familiar with some terms. "Like this" or "the other way" or "right here" are not very helpful for beginners.

    • @peanutforever2191
      @peanutforever2191 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree. It's actually not helpful for anyone who isn't staring at the screen while practicing. The stretches were held for a few seconds each, so they aren't worth anything, really, and she has no idea how to explain, well, anything.

  • @t.brooks7602
    @t.brooks7602 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How can you NOT love Donnie? I add at least one of her vids to my workouts everyday. Gotta stretch so your body appreciates all the other hard work you're doing for/to it & she's easy to follow.
    If it's too fast, there's a pause/rewind option always available :)

  • @mariasanchez8796
    @mariasanchez8796 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Nice stretches but give instructions along the way instead of at the end. For instance, instead of "twist like this, or put your foot here," instruct to push hips back or give some sort of verbal illustration for body placement. I found myself asking, twist how? Put my foot where? Then rewind to figure out the placement. Most peeps with a dance background may feel it's common sense but those of us without experience may feel a bit out of sorts. Thanks!

    I’ve been doing these stretches twice a day daily and I’ve seen improvement of my mobility

  • @ajharl3yquinn
    @ajharl3yquinn 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ok... I've read most the comments here and for those who say this isn't a beginners video. Her friend in the back is showing alternatives to her advance stretching for one. And for two you hold a stretch too long and you can injure yourself. I'm 25 border line obese and can hardly bend forward to touch my toes. I have no flexibility whatsoever. I was doing these stretches in high school. And I graduated in 2011. I have an achy back and bad knees and my hips aren't that great either and I'm still able to follow along and do every stretch. So for those who say you can't do these stretches, if you can't do these then you can't do a workout properly either. So unless you're wheelchair bound or bed ridden quit complaining and do the best you can. She even tells you if you can't reach the floor or your toes grab a little higher up. With practice and perseverance you'll be able to do these in your sleep. And eventually be flexible enough to touch your toes. And do the splits. Just because you think it didn't workout the first time doesn't mean you won't be able to do it if you keep at it. If you go to do a bench press, you can't automatically do 500 lbs on the first day. That's suicidal. You have to work up to it.
    I loved these 2 videos and i plan to do them before and after my workouts every time. I feel great.

    Great stretches, fantastic routine. In my opinion, more for an intermediate level of fitness, where as an elder that is just beginning into flexibility, or a person with joint injury/pain will not be able to complete most of these stretches especially to your caliber. Maybe try to show a beginner through words or another helper, such as when you reach to touch the floor, show/tell them they do not need to touch the floor, just feel the stretch in their hamstrings and hold. Other than the video was well done! Thanks!

    I have started using some of these stretches before I do my workout at the gym and sometimes after too. I was wondering whether their is any benefit to do both before and after? My logic is that I stretch before to avoid injury, and then after to help restrict/remove lactate from my muscles. Any ideas?

    I do have a quick question though, as you do more yoga, can anybody be as flexible as Donnie eventually or for anybody to be like that, should you have been doing yoga for a long time already?

    This is great for a good, deep stretch routine. BUT if you are someone who needs verbal cues to get into positions, this is not the video for you. I wouldn’t recommend it to beginners who don’t know where their hips, shoulders, etc need to be stacked to get the right stretch. On the other hand, if you know what you’re doing, you will probably like this one!

    used to be flexible then stopped all that for 8 years...male 35 years old I feel like i need longer wait between each move as I am 2 or 3 moves behind at this pace ...even basic lunge stretch seems to make itb pinch so I gotta just do all this a snail pace lol
