    Notice how serious they got at the end when they mentioned that they lost their families because they chose not to believe in this cult anymore.
    In Islam, believers are obligated to kill you if you leave.

    Then why are apostates killed by the believers of Islam?

    So much for the warmth and fuzziness, and harmlessness, that Trey Parker and Matt Stone keep talking about when they mention the Mormon religion, and what "nice people they are". Unless you happen not to be white. And unless you happen to disagree that Joesph Smith wasn't the One True Prophet on Earth.
    If you disagree, your mother, your father, your brother and sisters abandon you. Parker and Stone kind of left that part out of their kindly homage to them.....

    • @bridgerbarker2532
      @bridgerbarker2532 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's not true, Mormons believe god and family are the most important things in life. Most of all my family is Mormon and I'm not, they don't treat me any different and they definitely didn't abandon me. That's just ridiculous to think that. Also the creators of South Park make fun of EVERYTHING so maybe you should base your opinions on your own findings, not comedians opinions.

    • @shellyminor6083
      @shellyminor6083 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I can say this probably true for almost any religion -- but, I grew up in Utah as a non-mormon. And, they are definitely not as "friendly" and "genuine" as they'd like outsiders to believe. Many are downright judgmental, condescending, and disrespectful towards outsiders. I recall this impression from when I was 6 years old. Perhaps if they're told that anyone that doesn't hold the same belief system will fade away in "hell" makes them outwardly display their beliefs as per what they've been taught. There's a lot clique-like, phony people in this state. I lived in VA for years and saw such a difference -- for the better.

    • @bridgerbarker2532
      @bridgerbarker2532 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Captain stud well obviously, if you go out telling people what they have been living they're whole life believing is a lie you won't get the best reaction, but i was just trying to make the point and not all lds people are judgemental, Im a non mormon literally living with Mormons. My main point is if you leave Mormons alone and not be a dick you shouldn't be judged and i have lived in Ogden, south ogden, orem, Provo, and lehi so i definately have some expierence dealing with some of the craziness haha.

    • @maskedmarvyl2698

      +Bridger Barker, did you happen to watch the clip you are commenting on? These two young men were abandoned by their families because they rejected the Mormon religion. You are aware of that, aren't you?

      @maskedmarvyl2698 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +nick alford , the two young men in the clip you watched did; they both said "family and friends - you're off the deep end". I'm glad you didn't lose any friends, but they lost their families.

    I am a Mormon and the sad thing is that the social suicide is so true I haven't even been able to leave the church yet but my mother and father will not accept me back at home and have said I've chosen to go down a dark path in which they will not support me, it is sad really, truly disheartening and I am only 19, I even chose to serve a mission too but because I chose to came home because I was questioning, I have been shut out by family and friends

I always think about what if they were still LDS and if me and my brother were raised LDS. I wish my grandma and step grandpa were the same. They are conservative/Mormons, it's always been hard to deal with that. My step grandpa doesn't understand why I fight him so hard on wanting nothing to do with the church.

    No, no one is going to judge you. You have the freedom to believe and worship whatever you want, no matter how batshit insane it may seem to people outside of that belief system. It's when people of one belief start pushing it on others that problems arise. Keep in mind that your belief is just that, YOUR belief, and you're golden.

    Maher is fantastic in his own comedic style to bring the subject matter out into the open. He's just looking for the same answers to questions we all have had about religion. The people that are our religious leaders answer you with "oh! you simply need a strong faith!" and you reply "but that still doesnt give me the answer , does it?" from there they usually wanna quit speaking with you or they call you a blasphemer.
    Jesus save us all!

    Most of what Maher says is accurate. Truth is just a perception thing... I've been LDS all of my life, most of it inactive, by choice. Just because you "feel good" after 'praying' about something doesn't necessarily mean it is true. I can pray about most material things I'd like to have and say, "There, I feel REALLY SUPER about that! It must be true and it must be GOOD! Therefore, let's rush right out and buy that 'thing' suh-weety!" Nah, the concept is fundamentally flawed of pray = truth...

  • @brigmahf

    Not amusing because it is all true. I didn't used to believe it, but when you actually study the doctrine... It's incredible how much has actually been taught, or is still being taught (albeit not publicly, for obvious reasons)

    You do realize that Bill Mahr will never read your comment. This isn't his TH-cam channel and, even if it were, he probably would still not read all of the comments on it.

    I like the ending but had a laugh at it. I agree Mormons are batshit crazy. I agree that Mitt Romney would have made a lousy president. But obama's no different. We would have the same wars, the same NSA, "patriot" act, NDAA and all the bad destructive policies that obama has done. Shit romney had the pre-cursor to obamacare and said that he liked a lot of things in. He would have been "bi-partisan" on that no doubt. Stop caring about peoples beliefs or pretty words/promises that come out of their mouths. Look at their policies! Look who pays them and gives them "donations". And look at the boysclub that theyre in. Obama has had both Bush and Clinton as advisors, and all 3 have been together loads of times. Wise up and learn. Actions speak louder than words!

      WhyDoPeopleRespond AwkwardlyToAwkwardness Why do so few people look at the details and instead listen to rhetoric only???
      Ever heard of Romneycare or heard what he had to say on Obamacare? Ever heard of the job participation rate? What about Ben Bernanke? Arguably the most important man in the US. Well what did Obama have to say about Ben and what did he do? How about all their corporate sponsers? The exact same people funded both of them. What about Obama taking time out of his campaign to campaign for TARP? What about the increase use of food stamps, the real unemployment rate if counted the same way it was counted back during the Great Depression (none of this U3 or U6 nonsense), interest rates remaining at life support levels and not returning to normal, Obama extending Bush's policies, debt levels getting worse during the "recovery" and not better (a real sign the depression continued on and just got worse) or any of the other economic idicators getting worse? Theyre the exact same. The same rhetoric, the same keynesian/monetarist policies. Their only real achievment is in convincing people theyre different in foreign and domestic policies (just look at Obama's war mongering foreign policy cabinet).

    This is absolutely ridiculous and Jesus said there is no male or female in the kingdom of heaven. But these people think God is human. No he's not. He's light and love. Jesus became a man to go through what humans do so he could be the perfect sacrifice by overcoming the world system and sins.

    For the record, someone can't "be bias." Saying that is implying that Bill Maher is the physical embodiment of bias.
    Someone can, however, be "biased."
    Maybe you should put that book of Mormon down and pick up a fucking grammar textbook.
