- The Chicago White Sox win the series finale vs. Minnesota, 4-3, at Target Park on September 29, 2022.
Starting pitcher Lucas Giolito pitched 5.0 innings, throwing 6 strikeouts. He held the Twins to two runs allowing the offense to stay within striking distance throughout the game.
The Twins jumped to an early lead, scoring two runs in the 1st inning. Nick Gordon knocked a line drive to right field, sending in the first runs of the game for the Twins.
The White Sox made a push to tie the game in the 3rd inning. After Josh Harrison’s base hit, Romy González hit his first triple of the 2022 regular season to put a run on the board. Outfielder Mark Payton followed up with a base hit of his own tying the ballgame, 2-2. He went 2-for-4 at the plate with 2 runs and 1 RBI.
Singles from Mark Payton and José Abreu opened the 6th inning on a positive note. Andrew Vaughn hit a sacrifice fly ball to score one of the runners and to take the first White Sox lead of the game.
The Twins came back again in the bottom of the 6th inning, as Billy Hamilton scored on a single hit by Ryan Jeffers. Jimmy Lambert and Aaron Bummer closed out the 6th inning with a combined 2.0 strikeouts over 1.0 innings pitched.
Reynaldo López pitched a scoreless 7th inning, and was awarded the win for the day.
In the 8th inning, the White Sox snagged the lead once again. José Abreu doubled on a sharp fly ball to center field to tack on another run for a 4-3 lead.
Kendall Graveman pitched a scoreless 8th inning, striking out Ryan Jeffers to close the inning. Liam Hendriks earned his 34th save of the 2022 season, throwing 2 strikeouts over 1.0 innings pitched in the 9th inning.

That's the second game of this disastrous 9 game road trip that we scored 4 runs, losing 8 out of nine all against division rivals really shows how far this Uber underperforming team has regressed. I'm just happy I wrote them off again in july.
I wrote them off then as well. They should be embarrassed at how they played this year.
Dude i met Mark Payton in like 2017! he came and visited my class because his wife or girlfriend at the time was a hairdresser, and she did my teachers hair. Not sure about where they are now but that is amazing.
