- Bats were boomin' at Comerica Park as the Chicago White Sox secure the series 11-4 with a win over the Detroit Tigers on September 18, 2022.
The Sox struck first in the first with a RBI single by Gavin Sheets. The Tigers answered quickly in the bottom of the frame with a 2-run home run by Willi Castro to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead.
AJ Pollock said no so fast and sends a home run ball himself over the left field fence.
With the bases loaded in the fifth, Gavin Sheets draws a walk from Drew Hutchison to give the Sox a 3-2 lead, bringing up Andrew Vaughn. On a 1-2 count, Andrew Vaughn blows the game wide open with his first career GRAND SLAM! Sox lead 7-2.
Detroit would be up a rally in the sixth with a bases loaded walk and a Jeimer Candelario sacrifice fly to shorten the Sox lead to 3. A clutch strikeout by Jimmy Lambert ends the inning and ends the Tigers’ rally.
After a José Abreu walk, Eloy Jiménez demolishes a baseball 450 ft to centerfield for his 14th home run of the season and restores the Sox lead to 5 in the seventh. Later in the inning, Seby Zavala singles to left fielder Akil Baddoo to bring home Gavin Sheets.
Eloy Jiménez wasn’t done yet. Top of the 8, he knocks José Abrue in on a RBI double, making him a triple short of the cycle and the score 11-4.
Javier Baez chips into the Sox lead with a solo home run to left field, but Tanner Banks would finish the Tigers and secure the Sox win.
The White Sox offense tormented the Tigers. José Abreu went 1-for-4 with a walk and 3 runs. Eloy Jiménez was 3-for-4 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. Gavin Sheets hit 2-for-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. Andrew Vaughn went 1-for-4 with 4 RBI.
Pitcher Vince Velazquez started the game and struckout 4 Tigers in 4 innings. José Ruiz fanned two. Jimmy Lambert struck out 1 and earns a hold. Tanner Banks pitched 3.0 innings, striking out 5 and earns the win. - กีฬา

yes they would only be 3 games back which means if they sweep the guardians we will be all tied up and we will have the tiebreaker
This division is Cleveland's to win or lose, but at least the Sox still have a fighting chance. I want to see the ballpark totally sold out for the upcoming Cleveland series. I can't make it, as I live on the East coast (and follow the Sox on Comcast Extra Innings), so I want each and every one of you in the Chicagoland area to go for me and cheer as loud as you can!

Fun game for Sox fans, but these are the games you're supposed to win. Or more aptly, better win.
Need to gain ground on the Indians so hopefully the Twins beat 'em tomorrow before the Sox face the tribe on Tuesday.
