Oh my god, I hate Retribution so much. I've had moments where my entire party gets one-shotted by it. The reason Dark Dawn is easy is because it's a lot more forgiving than the previous two games. There is a difficulty spike when the eclipse begins, but it can still be easy, or hard-- depending on how good the player is at the game. I have the game because my friend didn't bother searching for any Djinn-- he got stuck on the Mountain Roc, so he gave the game to me for my birthday. I was able to get past the Mountain Roc first try because I actually searched for Djinn and got some. I didn't get all of them, but I did basically complete the game on my second playthrough, except for this one summon I missed on accident.
@Swordmaster1993 Well it might have to do with how old it is, or how long you've had it. Cuz I used it on mine, and it worked fine. +Y-Power Try using the djinni Shell and Void. Use Matthew to attack, heal and revive. use Sveta to attack and use Karis and Tyrrel for Void and Shell. Void absorbs nearly all damage and shell helps alot too.
I know I’m 3 years late to the party, but just want to introduce my favorite team to every boss. Basically just ramp up Matthew and Sveta’s base attack as much as possible with Djinn stat boosts, gear. Take in Himi for Weapon Grace and use it (twice for full attack boost) everytime either Matthew or Sveta’s attack goes back to normal. For Matt, keep using the Sol Blade for Megiddo, and Sveta’s Beastform. Revive with Matt and Himi when needed. For the third party member, choose a healer, any will do. Make sure to have reviving, shielding, healing, djinn-restoring and stunning Djinn equipped on these characters as well. Just keep attacking like this with your priorities being Revive, Heal, Djinn recovery, Attack Boost, Attack (Matt with normal, Sveta with Beast), Shield, Stun, Summon in that order and you’ll be able to take it down in no time. It’s all about making use of each character’s strengths and utility in a well rounded team instead of just going all out attack and focusing on summons. Using Megiddo and Beastform continuously outshines the damage output of using Djinn for a strong summon.
@Abysia well I playedt he original golden sun. but I was young and couldn't reached end cause I got lost after the great dessert. it ruined the whole experience for me so I skipped the second one.
@mifdsam oh ok, but I come across either 2 or 3 tua warriors giving me 27k or 41k exp, making my level up very fast, right now my party is in the 50s with leveling.
@Swordmaster1993 Doesn't take very long to reach max level in Dark Dawn, lol Only need about 8M exp for level 99, and considering tua warriors give about 18k exp each when djinn killed, yeah Only took me about 3 hours to grind to 99
It's called Summon Rushing. If you use a particular summon that is attached to the same element, you get extra damage of that. Kinda similar with Pokemon when a pokemon used a attack move that is the same type(s) of the Pokemon itself.
this boss was annoying but wouldnt say hard the first time i fought him was the time i beat him this was a long time ago so i thought id play it again for the lols. i beat him again in one go XD. i just used bark, shell, chasm, gears, vine, breath, surge, brick, dewdrop, fleet, torrent, pewter, garland, tear drop, glow, buckle, tinder, foam, granite, sizzle and kite. having all those defences and revival djinns for back up really helped and the extra agility buffs and debuffs just made it so i could take him down really fast.
@Link64 that is so true. doom dragon just kept frustrating me everytime i fought it cause it was my favorite boss to fight. ^_^ now i wish my golden sun TLA game never got ruined. it was a day that i morned its death.
I know this is an old video, but needless to say I struggled with this final boss. Took several weeks to beat at like level 80. Some say this was easy but I guess I must be bad at this type of stuff huh.
@@Miggy So I booted up my game after several years and I don't think my gear was bad, I was just extremely stupid. Welp, I guess I'll try my luck with Dullahan, the last boss that I have to beat.
Nice. The gear that I had equipped on this video was bad, which is why I struggled so much, lol. Fix that and I cleaned house with all the optional bosses left in the game.
YUJI NAKA MADE THE FINAL BOSS SO FUCKING HARD I CAN'T EVEN BEAT CHAOS CHIMERA EVEN ON LEVEL 60 HE HAS WAY TOO MANY HEALTH I USED SUMMONS ON THIS GUY HOPING HIS HEALTH WOULD DEPLETE BUT HE HAS MORE THAN I THOUGHT. HOW MANY HEALTH DID YUJI NAKA GIVE HIM WHEN HE CREATED THIS GAME 99889 BILLION?
Reasons this boss was crap compared to the other games' final bosses: 1: You could get yourself ready for it; the first two games after the fight with the main antagonists, their final form followed right after! There was no "Are you ready, or do you need to heal everyone and set your djinn and heal all psyenergy first?" bull that this game has. 2: The boss's basic attacks can be AVOIDED!? Oh and the other, HE USES MOSTLY THE BASIC ATTACK!!! Seriously, why would the final boss of this game just attack for one whole turn without doing something life threatening? The music was honestly the best part. 3: The only somewhat annoying attacks (Besides Djinn Blast/Storm) that were in this battle were Retribution (The Death Scythe of this game) and Chaos Upheaval. Shadow Clash had nothing on Cruel Ruin or even Outer Space. 4: All basic summons did WAY more damage then they should have. Boreas was pulling nearly 1500 a summon! 1500!!! The RNG Goddess could hate you and you'd still win. 5. Sheva, despite how much I love her, is too overpowered. In beast mode she can deal nearly 1000 a normal attack on this guy, which is absurd. I love this game dearly and this comes from someone who really wants GS4 made for people other than 10 year olds. Please Camelot, bring back the Golden Sun your old fan base would still buy if it looked even remotely challenging.
+thunderstones1 1) Lost Age didn't have consecutive battles for final fight. 2) It actually has less junk attack than either Fusion Dragon or Doom Dragon. Fusion Dragon also uses normal attacks, and three or four rather weak status spells. Doom Dragon has a LOT of junk spells in first two forms, and even the last one likes to waste turns doing things like Earth Force, Nettle or Stone Spire. This thing's only junk skills are its regular attack and Wicked Howl. It also gets three turns unlike Fusion Dragon or Doom Dragon third phase. 3) Shadow Clash is actually just a bit weaker than Cruel Ruin (70+40%maxHP instead of 200+40%maxHP). It's still a really hard hitting attack. The thing though is that it has two attacks like this (Chaos Upheaval is the other one) and it can use them twice, or maybe all three times out of its three turns. (And forget Fusion Dragon; its "summon" attacks don't even scale to characters' max HP so it's way weaker.) 4) Summons' base power is proportional to the enemy's HP so it only does more damage when the enemy has more HP. Summons are overpowered in general but that applies to the entire franchise, not just this game. 5) Beastform is overpowered for a good reason; it's essentially an alternative to summon so it has to match up to that at least. In any case there's clearly at least some attempt to balance it out; its attacks are overwhelmingly Venus aligned which a lot of late game bosses are heavily resistant to. As far as I can tell, this game isn't much easier than its previous installments. It's easier to GRIND to a higher level but pound for pound the last boss and optional bosses are not any easier. Some midgame bosses in this game are ridicluously weak, but then again no one exactly remembers, say, Kraken or Moapa for frequently giving Game Overs or something either.
Speak for yourself moron this boss is hard as shit it can kill me in three hits even after ive tried so many times exchanging djinni. Idk if your supposed to be past level 50 but christ this thing isn't easy in the slightest
No, this boss is amazing, really challenging and too broken. And no matter what you said DD is way better than the first ones Golden Sun. Saying that the game is a joke because it lets you prepare for the final fight is so stupid.
In the first 2 games I have to constantly use Djinn and Summons and Revive to win the final boss. In Dark Dawn all it took was normal attacks and heal. This boss is WAY easier than the previous ones!
Just like the Doom Dragon, just keep 1 or 2 healers in there :p and I am sure you will get there, unless u get spammed with Djinn Storm xD He was pretty hard, but not impossible =] I liked the battle though :p
@HatoburekaSutajio I'm glad someone liked it. I honestly thought it was the worst in the series and generally very bad game :( Besides all the things you said (like the abysmal plot), I didn't personally like the graphics and hated how swords have more than one unleash (an unnecessary gimmick, only slowed you down), and I'll never forgive the fact that you can miss Djinn. If that's not all, they added only 1 new summon, and I dunno, felt very recycled to me. Hope they do better with the sequel.
i beat this guy at lvl 99 all characters and best weapons and armor and stuff and the best class set up here are the best class set up Paladin for matthew and susa's daughter(which i forget her name) and Ronin for Tyrell and Eleo and pure mage for karis and rief
I went to crossbone isle and fought a bunch of dragons there plus I got some rare material to forge some pretty powerful weapons and armor so I'm over lvl 80 and with every powerful weapon and armor equipped to my teams and fighting him wasn't that hard
Yes , and she gain extra Health/damage/armor , but each turn , use one Djinni and lose Health/Damage (Lose rank) This Boss is really strong , you need a strong heal , a his Retribution is really , REALLY hard to counter dat insta-kill of the team And when i fight him , when i use so many time for prepare a powerful summon : *Doom Dragon use Shadow shield* Make me mad =_=
no way doom dragon was harder than this...wait was that the dragon in lost age or in the first golden sun? if it was the one in lost age i might agree but the golden sun was easy, this boss was ridiculously hard
This guy was a pain in the ass, maybe because I didnt summon rush him. The boss difficulty in this game is pretty silly, all these easy pushovers then you get to this. IMO, Doom Dragon was more of a challenge.
@HatoburekaSutajio I get you. The graphics seemed too cartoony and bland for me (especially since GS 1 & 2 had amazing detail) and having more than one unleash makes it IMHO less special and clumsy. But yeah, I didn't finish the game, got fed up shortly after meeting Briggs. Pretty much the worst JRPG I've played, which hurts because GSTLA is my fave.
just put 8 of each djinn on standby and use two rounds of ultimate summoning on his ass. after that you only need to hit him once with megiddo or sveta and hes as good as dead. i did that in the low 50s
I hate that they let you "prepare" for this battle...I liked Dark Dawn but it is a far cry from the epicness of GS1 and Lost Age...where you summon rushing the final boss nearly guaranteed your death >:)
Sadly the only boss in the game (besides Dullahan) that actually packs a punch.

It’s all about making use of each character’s strengths and utility in a well rounded team instead of just going all out attack and focusing on summons. Using Megiddo and Beastform continuously outshines the damage output of using Djinn for a strong summon.
So if all else fails, have Karis spam Healing Gust And Summon Rush him?
So karis is the new Ivan huh
Like father like daughter.
Miggy always dying
But Karis is better than Ivan the dead, she isn't useless
@Abysia well I playedt he original golden sun. but I was young and couldn't reached end cause I got lost after the great dessert. it ruined the whole experience for me so I skipped the second one.
What sword is matthew using? I dont remember seeing it before.
@mifdsam oh ok, but I come across either 2 or 3 tua warriors giving me 27k or 41k exp, making my level up very fast, right now my party is in the 50s with leveling.
I have to say I was a little disappointed that the last boss wasn't a multi-headed dragon of some sort :P
took him out at around level 40's now I'm at level 70's.
I was level 49 ish and I lost but forgot to save... Then lost my game cartridge
i like the graphics of this games
@Swordmaster1993 Doesn't take very long to reach max level in Dark Dawn, lol
Only need about 8M exp for level 99, and considering tua warriors give about 18k exp each when djinn killed, yeah
Only took me about 3 hours to grind to 99
omg 60 and higher and u couldn't win?? is that game really that hard?? and how long did it take u to get up 2 that level??
Like how do u beat him in general? And how did that dijinn do 1k+ damage?
It's called Summon Rushing. If you use a particular summon that is attached to the same element, you get extra damage of that. Kinda similar with Pokemon when a pokemon used a attack move that is the same type(s) of the Pokemon itself.
I just went all out on that thing, Daedulus summon was all it took. But really good vid
this boss was annoying but wouldnt say hard the first time i fought him was the time i beat him this was a long time ago so i thought id play it again for the lols. i beat him again in one go XD. i just used bark, shell, chasm, gears, vine, breath, surge, brick, dewdrop, fleet, torrent, pewter, garland, tear drop, glow, buckle, tinder, foam, granite, sizzle and kite.
having all those defences and revival djinns for back up really helped and the extra agility buffs and debuffs just made it so i could take him down really fast.
also i was like level 50 and had a lot of the good summons which were really helpful
@flyingtoast11 Hahaha. xD Yeah, I think we'll just call it 'magic' and leave it at that.
this is the newest one right
@Link64
that is so true. doom dragon just kept frustrating me everytime i fought it cause it was my favorite boss to fight. ^_^
now i wish my golden sun TLA game never got ruined. it was a day that i morned its death.
How old is Kraden!!!!
Very old!
thank god i was spamming hard nut and apple on my party for all of them defence to be over 500 and attack to be over 900
What Level do you suggest my guys start with? Also What Summons Should I do? My Strongest one Is Eclipse
Sveta beast form. For a couple of turns and annihilate him.
I know this is an old video, but needless to say I struggled with this final boss. Took several weeks to beat at like level 80. Some say this was easy but I guess I must be bad at this type of stuff huh.
If it took you several weeks to beat this boss, I presume your gear that you have currently on your characters must of been pretty bad.
Lol just put all your djinn on standby and summon a shitload of people
@@lonleylink507 If you do that, then all of your stats decrease Im pretty sure
Doom Dragons much harder imo.
Managed to take him down fairly easily with a Ecipse/Crystallux summon rush ^^
are you on emulator?
Finally, no Cruel Ruin!
@omega197 Chaos Upheaval is more like Cruel Ruin v2 :P
+Sunkist Veno I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY FUCKING ONE!!! THIS BOSS IS FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reasons this boss was crap compared to the other games' final bosses:
1: You could get yourself ready for it; the first two games after the fight with the main antagonists, their final form followed right after!
Please Camelot, bring back the Golden Sun your old fan base would still buy if it looked even remotely challenging.
thunderstones1 reason number 6, its not a dragonXD
(And forget Fusion Dragon; its "summon" attacks don't even scale to characters' max HP so it's way weaker.)
4) Summons' base power is proportional to the enemy's HP so it only does more damage when the enemy has more HP.
I know this will sound weird but, am I the only one that thinks that even as a beast, Sveta is still cute? o.O
ARGh i needed this,i gto PWNED 31 times IN A ROW!
In the first 2 games I have to constantly use Djinn and Summons and Revive to win the final boss.
In Dark Dawn all it took was normal attacks and heal.
This boss is WAY easier than the previous ones!
Why were battles so blurry though. The rest of the games isn't like that.
ugh all my characters have lvl50+ and this fight is nearly impossible i cant beat the chais chimera
i decided hell with this boss ima destroy him with pure summons and omg he died like in a minute only using summons
i just trained till i was like lvl 65 and all others were 64 or 54 so i wrest him like 5 times its just to bad he don't give and xp
lol nice
dude, your equipment is shit
what did you do?
i grabbed the cleric ring and just used the darkside or whatever (for matthew)
Wow I never knew how fighting the tua warriors level you up like that! I was always running like a little bitch lol!
Also dispel him when he uses his shadow shield next time or you legitimately will do nothing to him.
My team were Eoleo, Amithi, Beast girl and Me
Just like the Doom Dragon, just keep 1 or 2 healers in there :p and I am sure you will get there, unless u get spammed with Djinn Storm xD
He was pretty hard, but not impossible =]
I liked the battle though :p
its a strategy not a summon
@HatoburekaSutajio I'm glad someone liked it. I honestly thought it was the worst in the series and generally very bad game :( Besides all the things you said (like the abysmal plot), I didn't personally like the graphics and hated how swords have more than one unleash (an unnecessary gimmick, only slowed you down), and I'll never forgive the fact that you can miss Djinn. If that's not all, they added only 1 new summon, and I dunno, felt very recycled to me. Hope they do better with the sequel.
Wasn't really a Hard Boss the only thing I hated was It's move Retribution ._.
This guy wasen't too bad, thought Doom Dragon was slight harder.
i beat this guy at lvl 99 all characters and best weapons and armor and stuff and the best class set up here are the best class set up Paladin for matthew and susa's daughter(which i forget her name) and Ronin for Tyrell and Eleo and pure mage for karis and rief
I went to crossbone isle and fought a bunch of dragons there plus I got some rare material to forge some pretty powerful weapons and armor so I'm over lvl 80 and with every powerful weapon and armor equipped to my teams and fighting him wasn't that hard
Yes , and she gain extra Health/damage/armor , but each turn , use one Djinni and lose Health/Damage (Lose rank)
This Boss is really strong , you need a strong heal , a his Retribution is really , REALLY hard to counter dat insta-kill of the team
And when i fight him , when i use so many time for prepare a powerful summon : *Doom Dragon use Shadow shield*
Make me mad =_=
no way doom dragon was harder than this...wait was that the dragon in lost age or in the first golden sun? if it was the one in lost age i might agree but the golden sun was easy, this boss was ridiculously hard
This guy was a pain in the ass, maybe because I didnt summon rush him. The boss difficulty in this game is pretty silly, all these easy pushovers then you get to this.
IMO, Doom Dragon was more of a challenge.
i dont know but if i compare the soundtrack of the final battle of GS2 With this soundtrack I prefer the previous because was more epic in my opinion
Same, Sand Prince's theme is better than this
@HatoburekaSutajio I get you.
I was at level 52
That spark plasma is really disappointing :/
SapphirePhxxx searing beam is great
I hate that they let you "prepare" for this battle...I liked Dark Dawn but it is a far cry from the epicness of GS1 and Lost Age...where you summon rushing the final boss nearly guaranteed your death >:)
