Thanks for this video, moved car from caravan after setting up and had left electrics connected. Would not connect again so eventually found your video found a go outdoors with them in stock and all good to drive home from our holiday in Wales.

Worth having just in case you ever have problems plugging into the towbar socket. Go outdoors sell them for a pound 😀

Don’t twist the plug other than inserting it in or taking it out of the car. When “parking” it in the holder on A frame fairing twist it using cable to secure. I’ve not had issue with mine in 13 years so I must be doing something right. All the same handy tool for spares box, and next time I’m in Go Outdoors 👍

I never had a problem in 12 or so years with my old caravan. Replaced it last year and the pins go out of alignment almost every time. They apparently have changed the design of the plug…why I have no idea 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's not a "alignment tool" it is a weather shield socket which screws onto A Frames to house the trailer plug when not in use, hence the name parking plug. It has been used as an alignment tool since the advent of 13 pin electrics and it does that job extremely well
