    Thanks.
    Wish I'd known about this tool ten years ago when I was stuck on a windy storage site with "electrics that just won't line up !?"
    Just in case the tool doesn't come with the new caravan on 9/8/22, I've just gone out & bought one from a local dealer :-)

      Hi Martin. They are such a handy little tool to have around. I leave mine inside the van from now on. You never know when you'll need it as you have explained. Thanks Phil👍🙂

    Hi Phil, I leave ours on when in storage or on site. The seal within the cap protects the hook-up connection better from water ingress, dampness and dust and is by far a better protection method to the 13 pin connector pins than the OEM recomended bayonet recess hole on the A-Frame. Rgs Murray

    My tip is remember we're you put it. I had my Caravan hitched to car could not connect the electrics. For the life of me could not find the alignment tool. Had to disconnect put caravan back on drive then drive to the nearest dealer buy one, back home again. Aligned pins and connect caravan back to car. To top it all I found the original one about 5 minutes after I got back. Great bit of kit just remember where you put it.

    I have two of these and attached them back to back, one is standard and the other one i cut the pins out of, this way if I get a customer with a very badly aligned one I can correct it with that one without taking the plug apart 👍

    Thanks for the video. I struggled for nearly two hours trying to hook up before finding your video and realising what the issue was. It was very frustrating and delayed us getting away this weekend. Thanks for all the tips. Much appreciated.

    Mine is left fitted on the end of the plug whenever it’s not in use. I assumed it’s a cap, and not an alignment tool. But then my van I retrofitted the 13 pin wiring so there’s no slot for the plug to sit in on the a frame.

    • @lostweekendscaravan
      @lostweekendscaravan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David. Its the alignment tool. I keep mine in my tool bag. Thanks Phil🙂👍

      Suspect they are meant to perform both functions, the fact there’s a rubber gasket inside makes me think original intention is as a cap, secondly to realign www.towingandtrailers.com/product/trailer-parts/trailer-electrics/13pin-plugs-and-sockets-2/replacement-green-cap-for-13pin-plug-2/

    Would have been more useful if alignment was undertaken on the video.

    Ours lives in the locker with the mover handset and all the stuff we use when hitching up. We always had problems with alignment when we had the Bailey and used it regularly, have not used it yet on the Adria 🤞
