Some food for thought .. my grandparents have lived in their home for about 35 years with a septic system. Every month my grandfather religiously flushed 2 tablespoons of yeast down the toilet to help breakdown the waste. About 10 years ago (25 years of use) he had a company come pump out the tank and the guy couldn’t believe that it had never been pumped prior. He wound up calling my grandfather a liar (not a good idea lol) and wound up leaving without pumping anything. He attributes it to the addition of the yeast. Just thought I’d throw that out there if anyone else had heard of something similar and to see if you’d want to do the same. Great video anyway! Thanks

Also I appreciate all of the questions you asked the contractor because naive ppl like me who has no clue or no experience with septic in my life needed to know. Everything I've been wondering has been answered in these couple of videos on septic. The real live videos makes it easier to grasp. This was truly amazing. They were very friendly and professional contractors.
You do realize it's not the want an excavator that's the problem... It's the "I have to convince my spouse that I need one of these excavator's" that's the problem😜🤣

Thank you for taking us along this adventure, if you really like all this stuff (I.e.: play with all the equipment), you need to get a job on the railroad as a Signal Construction team member, we use backhoes, skid loaders, dump and boom trucks and all kinds other cool stuff.

We had similar KW in our fuel truck fleet. Some had Paccard some had the ISX but I wouldn’t give up my Pete with a CAT. The KW were often in limp mode, in the shop or at the dealer having the DPF worked on. My Pete didn’t have any of that and the oil was much cleaner. The new trucks dirtied the oil the first day.
I bet that 880 had dual steering boxes.
It's nice that your soil is sand based! Ours is shale/sandstone. Having the right equipment makes the job much easier! You and your family stay safe

Nice. We were going to put a 800 gallon tank and 250 feet of runs. Talked to inspector when he came to look at planned site and ended up changing to 2000 gallon tank and 500 feet of runs. Wasn't much more in material and we dug everything ourselves so worth it in the end.

When you are talking about the tree and then the tree disappeared so quickly had me laughing lol! I am a woman and I also want that excavator. If I lived off grid, that would be such a fun toy.
Just finished extending an RV clean out from the main line running to my septic tank 140 ft over to my pole barn where I park my fifth wheel. I did it all myself and can really appreciate what they just did. I also added a second clean out for visitors to use. This is at my farm and we don't live there. Now if we care to we can stay in our RV with all the conveniences of home. Really liked the video.
Oh how I wish I could get about four truck loads of your dirt. I live in Oregon, six miles from the Columbia River and about 25 minutes from Mt. Hood, so I have no soil I have ROCK. The only thing that likes to grow are fir trees, oak trees and wild blue berries. I hate the ground for growing a garden and grass but love the trees and especially the wild blue berries. 💙💙💚💚

I used to run those knucklebooms they were fun, especially when trying to navigate around sketchy obstacles.
I pour the concrete for those septic tanks. Start with a 3 inch slump. Add a couple gallons of super plastisiser which wets it up to a good 6 inch slump and add fiber
Loving that nice sandy soil. No wonder you get away with 100 ft of leach field. Here in NC with our red clay I have 1,000 gallon tank but have to have 550 feet of leach line because of the slow perk.

Most counties in Texas require a concrete 1000 gallon septic tank at minimum, which is enough for a 3 bedroom house.

Ok, that wasn't cheap. But it was easy. I had a new tank put in during 2020. It was exciting to watch them pull out small boulders to install a larger tank. Here in the Northeast we grow rocks instead of corn. We harvest rocks each Spring. Sure enough they come right back the following spring.

I use to drive an International 1700 about that size. Never had a 450 on it But did have a few 350s on it. As long as It didn't have airbrakes. I would drive it!

A problem that the crane trucks have with DPF systems is that they idle a lot, and that plugs up the dpf/emissions systems

$6K for the whole system is a monster deal from where I am at in Western Washington state. Just a new drain field is about $9K for a gravity type field. My soils sandy loam down to at least the 4ft I have dug town to. We are on an ancient river bed. Anyways great video.
Here in the east an entire system would cost 20K +
Mine was $6k about 8 years ago in MD. 120 ft of drain field 12 ft deep.
Codes have changed now it's $22k.

Just purchased a new 2022 F450, was wondering if you found a solution for the front end. Really wondering about tire pressures, different tires or maybe even shocks. Have a Ram 4500 and its planted and does not grab a rut in the road and try to put you in the ditch.

I have a PACCAR MX 13 in my Kenworth T680 that I pull my 5r and it has been a trouble free engine or me. Every one of these over the road engines have issues with emissions equipment. Thanks to the EPA.
I have 7) of them in Peterbilt's with Allisions, all later model MX13's, Not any real problems at all, And they all idle a lot because of the rear cranes we have similar to the Hiab that is in this video, except we got away from Hiab and went to Fassi's
@@parexc07 yes, I run a high-quality Pittsburgh Power Catalyst in my fuel, do manual regions when my DPF is less than 80% and do not idle at low RPM. Do a valve adjustment every year. The PACCAR MX13 has done me well.
Why no d-box or filter on the outlet tee ?
Question . Why was there not gravel placed under the septic tank ?
Any reason why the pipe wasn't straight into the tank, instead of adding elbows and such?
Would have interfered with the RV pad and the tank had to be further from the property line.
Yes price is north of 20k depending on you soil!

I’m buying a diesel truck in a few weeks. Any advice on fuel additives or the difference in diesel fuels I see at different gas stations. A future video on this subject would be great.
What different diesel fuels are you seeing?
The big 3 are all using Bosch CP4 high pressure fuel pumps, they are all having problems. I'd get an older, pre 2018 with a CP3.
Everyone is going to have a different additive they like. I use Power Service.

i could be wrong but i think it can handle like 10 lol, theres a formula for septics like 160 gallons a person for the first four people then 60 gallons a person after. i could be totally wrong but i just watched a video yesterday saying this.
And then he began pricing out what it would cost to get a Super C RV built on a Kenworth T880... or a W990
