  • In this video, we determine why an above-ground septic system is necessary and we go through the steps of the construction process.
This video explains how to install a sand mound septic system. Septic Systems in a high water table is the main reasons why a homeowner would need a sand mound. We look at the soil testing procedures on how we assess a high water table.

Could you make a video on the math behind the mound? Maybe referencing the tyler table?

Where did you get the pipe chairs and covers. Can't find them anywhere and I really like the way it's done

This particular system was about 22k. It was for a 2 bdrm, out in very rural acreage making truck costs for sand and aggregates costly. High water in this area required concrete tankage and those units came from a distance as well.
      Cheers

An when a tree falls.. sure it won't cause a bit of a problem. ? All of a sudden it don't matter. It's just going to go into the ground anyway. I personally would think that system would be cheaper because you don't have to dig the leach field so much correct? . How much was the dirt analysis

What would the estimated cost be for a 4 bedroom mound leach field cost? I am looking into a foreclosed home that has everything installed (tank) but no leach field. The mound leach field would just need to be added per the township waste management officer. (Brown stone bed rock)
The drip area denoted in subdivision plan is on an area about 8 feet lower than the tank. Would a pump still need to be installed? Or could this be gravity fed?

Have to ask? Does it stink? 🤭 I may have to install one at my place

The sand mound itself will not emit smells, the effluent travels through the spec sand for the treatment, then goes to the native ground. If the sand mound is properly done, there will be no breakaway effluent at the toes of the sand mound thus no smells. The top of the sand is then protected with about 12" of topsoil cover allowing vegetation to grow, thus no smells emitted to the air.
