    Roger. I find it funny (Even rather odd!) that so many Porsche drivers actually want to drive there cars while those from the Italian makers seem to cossitt them up in underground garages where no one can ever appreciate them fully. I see more 911's been driven than I do "supercars" from the other "supercar makers".
    I ask myself why? Maybe it's because they don't want to be seen broken down by the side of the road as a 911 roars past them? :-)
    A stunningly great car driven by a "normal" Brit giving us mortals a proper driving review on British roads. It's so damn refreshing :-))...

      You have got a point there Zanzi we very rarely see Italian exotics being used properly, my hankering for a Ferrari has diminished somewhat in recent years as I feel they are too precious, 911's are the way to go imo, thanks for looking in again.

      @@RogerBaileyOnCars - The pleasure is all mine, watching your videos Roger. The more one thinks about Porsche over the Italians, the more one thinks "Why do anything other than Porsche?"
      All you need to do is reviews on the latest in the Porsche line up. No pressure then :-))...

    I read the test report that road and track produced, they actually say they achieved 205 mph in one of these. Porsche's are usually faster and more powerful than the officially published stats, great review.

      Pedro 12345 - From the experience I have with Porsche my opinion is that they are generally a little conservative when stating performance. Many manufacturers state 0-100 and so on that is achieved with tires and tarmac up to perfect temperature and shifting and driving done by a very experiences (race)driver. We all know that this is usually not something that normal people can normally do. The silly Nürburgring times that many companies use to measure their performance towards other brands are also completely ridiculous. No people can drive like that. A fun example is a video of a VERY fast time with the Alfa Giulia. The driver drives as if he has 10 minutes left to live and can't die :) It is truly insane how they push these cars to produce the silly, unobtainable numbers.
      th-cam.com/video/5gEdJmIVqLY/w-d-xo.html&index=12
      The corner up to Adenauer forst is the first time it is obvious how hard he is pushing the car. It is a very dangerous corner where many people crash and back off but he just goes flat like a maniac and saves the car just in time.

    The red seatbelts on the yellow sweater....so cool! LOL. I want to party with you, Roger! Excellent video!
    Silly observation: I noticed the white gauges in the daylight, then at night when you returned the car, they all looked black! I never thought of how they would look at night...amazing to me.

      thanks, this 991.1 turbo has 70 bhp more than GTS which is pretty obvious and the newer 991.2 benefits from lots of small improvements, they are both wonderful cars to drive, - I've not driven the turbo S yet

    Great video Roger. That car is just such an accomplishment. Amazing how the original “sporty version of a Beetle” evolved into cars like this.

    • @RogerBaileyOnCars
      @RogerBaileyOnCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      stubones thanks, yes it's been quite an evolution for the 911, it's hard to even tell it has a rear engine.

    • @stubones
      @stubones 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RogerBaileyOnCars A couple of summers ago one of my neighbours took me for a hoon in his 997 4S Cabrio and the thing that struck me immediately, over bumps, was the "pogo" effect at the rear from the engine (compared to my front engined BMW). Once on a smooth road it was hard to tell it was rear engined, apart from the sound :) They've obviously been able to engineer that out in the last few years with the 991 generation.
