    You need to load it subs to the rear. You can get high surround grilles. The difference in sound is quite noticeable.

    • @ElevatedVehicles
      @ElevatedVehicles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amen to all that. The goal is to have a custom box built with speakers loaded to the rear tailgate & port facing the roof. I think it'll sound way better in the new box

    • @tangomantactical
      @tangomantactical 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @ElevatedVehicles I've had it both ways,and when the port is on the same plane as the subs the resonance is much better. Your box may not allow it,but I would definitely design it so your subs and port are facing the rear. 08 Yukon Denali with 2-15" P3's in a 8cuft box tuned to 38hz per Fosgates tech recommended, as I spoke directly to them. I did however try it both ways and subs and slot port on the same plane absolutely makes it more resonate and hits harder and lower. I hope this helps you in your situation. 32yrs exp as a car audio nut as a side gig. I'm hitting 149db with 2-P3's and a Punch 1000. Full 0 gages electrical and 2 amg batteries. I need a Mechman alt, then I'll hit 150db for sure. Not bad for 1325w rms on 2 non competition subs. The box is the biggest key. I've built over 50 custom boxes over the years. Good luck brother!

    Get some brackets and attack the box to your vehicle. You're supposed to do this so that it doesn't go flying through the vehicle if you get in a bad accident. It also keeps it from sliding around. That box is also sitting on its back, it's angled in the back so that you can slide it back more. If you're worried about something hitting the speakers you can get some aftermarket grills for it.

    • @ElevatedVehicles
      @ElevatedVehicles  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've been thinking of this actually. After some planning we decided to build a custom box that will allow us to not only move up to 15"subwoofers but also bolt in to the rear seat brackets 🙂

  • @wisco-lad

    • @ElevatedVehicles
      @ElevatedVehicles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Dude that's awesome. Yeah I have thought about firing it down instead of towards the ceiling the problem is that it takes up even more cargo space which I need for all of my sporting equipment.
      If it wasn't for all my equipment I would for sure have these firing anyway but up haha

  • @Jared535

    Screw D rings into the box then clip them to the latch system on the back seat with carabiners. Quick detach but still holds the box in place.

    • @ElevatedVehicles
      @ElevatedVehicles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Solid idea. I worry about the rattle from those carabineers though. I thought about Velcro-ing the living mess out of the bottom of the box with a staple gun and heavy duty Velcro but that won't solve the issue of needing to get it removed for when I camp in the Jeep in the winter.

    Fire the enclosure toward the rear of the vehicle so that the bass waves have that much more room to travel before they get to you. Vented boxes work differently using resonance like blowing into a jug for a tone that is resonant. Different openings produce different tones and using a device like a subwoofer can produce a range of tones known as bandwidth. That box that skar has provided is probably tuned in the high 30’s or early 40’s . Also for terms of resonance instead of facing the box up put it to the back of the cab so the sound can resonate more . But I’m this application it may not matter as it is a jeep which I assume you will have open and therefore lose output
