Hybrid 4 cyclinder that is more powerful and gas efficient than last gen, awesome! Should see even more out on the trails and campgrounds than before. Great design!

Four-cylinder turbo, I can accept. Four-cylinder turbo hybrid will be interesting, I can accept. All the fancy fancy third-party upgrades I can accept. Like the interior changes to the front, with the larger screen, I can accept. The backseats not laying down flat to the back trunk area completely unacceptable! Having to forgo 6 inches to have the hybrid version, completely unacceptable! The product designers, clearly don’t have kids or transport any goods at all that requires a flat surface or a lot of space! Try moving across the states with this new forerunner will be much more of a headache versus my 2013! Things we’ve learned about the designers: They do not have children! They do not have big dogs ! They’ve never worked in construction or built anything larger than the little child kits at Home Depot! 😂 They think they’re only catering to 25-year-olds, that match all of the foregoing items!
Has anyone noticed from different angles there looks like a dent in the rear quarter between fender and taillight. Maybe just the lighting but honestly doesn’t look great…
I like it- but I don't love it (referring to the design). I think they nailed the rear-end design, but the front looks too much like a Tacoma. I would have just massaged the successful 2024 4Runner front end design. It was timeless!
Second row is not a 40/20/40 split. This is a big fail for people that like to carpool for ski trips. With the 5th gen you can sit 4 adults comfortably with skis in the middle.
I loved my 4Runner 4th gen but I couldn’t stand the extra cost for fuel. Until Toyota releases a diesel version in the US I’ll be sticking with my GMC truck and saving a couple hundred a month in fuel costs.
I wouldn't trade my 2015 Xterra Pro-4X for this. Xterra has more interior storage (no battery in the way), narrower for tight trails, more headroom, simpler, bulletproof.
These embargo’s are so funny. A dozen TH-cam channels reviewing the same car at the same location all without being able to talk about price or driving dynamics. What a waste of time.
You were doing good until the end. Price is not going up just a bit. 2021 I bought a sr5 4Runner 41k. That same 4Runner is 47k in 24. 6k in three years for a vehicle that hasn’t changed. The new generation will be 50k? 9 k difference in 4 model years. So prices are up significantly!
There was a time that both Lexus and Toyota looked pretty damn good. Not sure what happened? Everything is too bulky, cheap looking, and they keep failing the IIHS tests.
Seriously. Their styling is horrid. I love toyota, but I can't see myself in this cartoonish looking crap. And as an off-roader, the more bulky and wide the vehicle, the less places it can fit.

Everything going 4 cylinder now. I have no problem with it as long as it can deliver power, except…they work harder and won’t last as long as a 6 or 8, they usually don’t sound very good, and well, it’s a 4 cylinder.
You prefer one style vs the other? Toyota basically is giving you a choice of 3 different wrappers for the same segment of vehicle. If you can afford all three, then pick the one that speaks to you the most I suppose. Me personally, I’ve owned 2 generations of 4Runners and I love what Toyota/Lexus did with the new Landcruiser and GX, but right now I’m leaning toward going with another 4Runner. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of these honestly.
Had hybrid - never again. And will it go 200,000+ miles with that 4 cylinder turbo charged engine. Highly unlikely. Can't spin something like a turbo at 150,000 rpm and expect it to last.
So basically the same vehicle as the Tacoma, Land Cruiser and Lexus 550. With minor differences. I think Toyota is splitting market share among itself. The LC is classic and has nice lines, 4Runner is bulbus, lumpy and not a consistent design. Lexus is the giant grill division...style wise I think the Land Cruiser has it.
Respectfully disagree. Toyota has this thing about the 112" wheelbase. Not me talking here, but they say it is the key to balance between packaging and off roading. Hence they have applied the same to many of their vehicles.

I wish they made the height of the 4Runner a little taller so we can have some decent interior space and packaging… but I guess we can wait another 15 years 😂 Regardless, the new 4Runner is still awesome and on my list of potential next vehicles 😎
@@gotcoke795I wonder if you can remove the 2nd row and make it more load friendly, otherwise I and probably many people would not even look at this model. It’s just like the sequoia with that stupid 3rd row, these engineers should have been fired for this design.
@@nuclearcrypto7743I agree with you 100%. It's unfathomable to me how they make a " overlander" that you can't sleep in on a flat floor without having to make a platform and raise your bed.

Kevin and his design team could have made the front end look more aggressive. For some reason the front end looks so basic and docile.
