Just got mine installed, it went very well after watching your video. Thank you for the coin trick, it would have been very difficult without it. That is one tough spring. 🏍
Thanks for doing this video! My kit didn't come with the instructions so this was super helpful, and confidence inspiring that it's a simple and quick install. I also lol'd at the absolute brilliant ingenuity of using the spare change like that for the spring. Hats off to you man!
The center stand was the first thing I installed on the bike because it is very useful. You did well to put it on the bike. How clever the coins in the spring have been.
Loved the video and just watched an English guy fit an S W Motech stand, which was far more complicated than the Honda OEM stand you used, plus the fact he tried fitting the spring with the centre stand down, which made it twice as hard to do so. Anyway, I have just bought a 2017 model and wondered if anybody here can tell me if the old model centre stand is as easy to fit. Love all your videos, so keep them coming.
Excellent video & so helpful. You make it look so easy dude, after watching how to - I did it, not quite aseasy as you made it look but that's down to being me. Well done & Thank You.
Love the mod when fitting the spring ;-) very good. Why have you never fitted and extension-pad to the foot of your side-stand? They can be quite useful when parking on warm tarmac or soft ground on the trail.
@@OregunAdventure i was quoted by one honda dealer 400.00 au went to another dealer 250.00 au genuine honda part gald you put up this video i didnt know where the spring attached to on the bike i thought it was to long when i first looked at it
@@OregunAdventure I looked at the chinese centre stands and some have a bolt that acts like the tube that you secure to the stand ,dont know how well that would work dont think i would trust them anyway at least with oem part you would have some recall if anything went wrong .
Great addition to the bike. On the video, I would have preferred you ditched the music entirely and just talked us through it, but hey, it's your video. I'll keep tuned in for the next one.
Yep. Me too. There’s a very good reason for this video having music. I live next to a complete wacko who plays music very loud everyday. It’s a long story, but it’s very hard for me to film and talk in my yard right now.
How did you get the coins on to the spring? I just got a center stand for my 2018 CB500X, but to even insert a single coin in the spring is really hard
@@OregunAdventure Thanks for the video and suggestions. I pulled the spring using a tie down ratchet between two poles and then placed the coins between the coils.
Put mine on with a screwdriver on the spring lug pulled the spring back and pushed the spring off the screwdriver over the locating with a hammer shaft it went ok but the coins in the spring looks a lot easier and safer cd X isagood ride pity we can't get out and about hear in the UK
Whatever works right;). This stuff will be over and we’ll all be riding again! Keep your head up;). I’m going on another adventure tomorrow so stay tuned for that!
I'm finding myself more and more interested in these sorts of videos....wanting to do stuff to a bike...maybe it's my age or maybe it's the fact i need to prove myself as a woman in the biking world heh heh
Oregon Motorcycle Don’t take this the wrong way, but my spring must have been “tighter” than yours!!! Not sure if that’s a good thing :) I had to fight with it for like 2 hours! It looked like you had pennies going maybe 25% the length of the chain, and the rubber tube was still intact. I wound up with quarters (thicker) the entire length of the spring, all the way around, before I could get the spring in place. Forget the rubber sleeve, no room for it. I would up slicing it length wise to slip it back over the spring once it was in place, then using cable ties to secure it in place. Your video made it look like this was an easy upgrade, and I’m not criticizing, maybe it is for most. But I swear, my experience was VERY different, and I just hope my neighbors were not in the front yard at the time, because they would have heard some pretty choice language!
cool vid. WANT a centre stand myself so very informative. loved the cion trick, your a clever dick.lol. As for bash plate, I have one fitted but wouldnt regard it as anything more than just a stone guard/protector , not suitable for log hopping. just starting to see lockdown restrictions being eased here in the land of oz so fingers crossed for a long ride soon.
@@OregunAdventure sorry mate, i dont know the brand coz i got it fitted by the dealer so he choose the skidplate. because of the design of the bike frame, the engine is incorperated into it ,meaning the bashplate can only be attached to the case and exhaust in vunerable places. I would not like to see it take a big hit. Newbie learning curve.
Been thinking about a centerstand but never put the money up yet. Have you been looking into skid plates yet. I pick up the SW motech easy you install like you centerstand lol. Rally raid got nice one too. But ive hear that doesnt work with the centerstand. I know the t-rex company got one too. I got my engine case cover for t-rex. Thoughts thing are almost a inch thick.
I love the way you use coins to install spring. This is a nice idea. Thanks for your video :)
Your welcome!

Great mod to have. You are clever to put your spare change in the spring 😂. Great vid...as always!
😊 thank You 🙏
You make things look so easy. I bought my bike with one installed. I remember when all big bikes came with them standard .
Ha ha. Thanks. The spring was a lil cumbersome. It took longer to get all those pennies pressed in than the whole install did.
Thats before they realized they could make a buck by selling it to you as an accesory

Thank you! The stand is a great improvement.
I have to have one now. Super cool. How did I ever live without it.
May 2024/ still a fantastic installation video of the Honda OEM centre stand it worked for me installing the centre stand CB500 XAR 👍
Looks like a good install. Just ordered one. Thanks for the reminder. It's going to make servicing the wheels and chain so much easier.
Yes it will!
I agree .. that was a very cool idea to put your coins in between the Spring to stretch it out.. good job...😎👍
Great Video!! Could not fathom living without a center stand!
It’s a great addition.
This video was extremely helpful to me. Thank you :). Just got mine fitted and followed your technique exactly.
Hey, that was a super helpful video. This made up my mind between this or spool stands. Ty
You just save my hands and my brain, the idea of the coins ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, thank you !
Glad I could help!

Brilliant idea with the coins. 🙏
Great video. Especially picking it up at the shop!
Thank you😊
Amazed how quick and simple that is to fit. That’s the genuine Honda one yeah?
Yes. OEM Honda. Cheaper than aftermarket ones.

Nice. Mine just broke. The hook on the frame broke so now i have to figure out how to fix the spring again.
Are you the one who sent me the pic on IG?
Nice! I’m thinking about a center stand. This is helping me make up my mind 😎
Love the coin trick
Great video
I love my bikes with center stands really makes chain maintenance a breeze
oh, how I wish my CBR had a centre stand sometimes :D ....
Yes! And tire changes;). I had to hang this bike from the staircase when I put these tires on🤣
Get some stands for your CBR. I got mine used for 40 bucks.
I do miss my centre stand from previous bikes. How much ground clearance do you lose with the OEM Honda centre stand?
Doesn’t look like any as the stand rides at the same height as the exhaust.
Great video! Love the trick with the coins👍
Thank you! Worked out pretty good.
Easier to remove coins by pulling stand down!
Excellent, thanks.

Lithium grease.

Geordi La Forgery locktite.

Looks really good, and convenient for maintenance. Is that the standard Honda skid plate?
Should be great for maintenance. I don’t have a skid plate yet, it’s all stock.
for anyone who’s having trouble getting the spring on , try connecting the spring first then putting the rod in place. made it a lot easier for me .
Great video, how long is the centre stand, think I have the wrong one, cheers
Not sure. It’s the factory one from Honda.

It’s 08M70-MKP-J80
So..Honda dont supply a centre stand on the bike..?
What was the trick to get the coins in the spring ?
I used a screwdriver and muscle;)
Ok thanks I been fighting it for a few hours didn’t think about a screwdriver
What was the Honda part number for the center stand? Last I checked their website doesn’t even show one as available
It’s not on the website and it took the dealer a long time to find it. I will check my receipt when I get back home and let you know.
Leif_The_Viking 08M70-MKP-J80 is the part number.

sw motech do some great gear....we use their 70 litres bags on long term travel :D
I’m going with SRC skid plate and crash bars. The skid plate works with the center stand. Crash bars are next however.
