I've got to sincerely thank you for posting this video. I saw a couple other videos first on installing the centerstand, and the guys used the "coins in the spring" method. You made the screwdriver technique look very easy so I thought I'd try it... Well, Mr. wanna-be physics guy (me) thought that if I used a really long screwdriver, it would give me additional leverage and make the job a piece of cake. Wasn't sure which length I needed, so I got both an 8 inch and 12 inch phillips head. Tried the 12 inch driver, and wouldn't you know the force on it from the spring was so great that it looked like the screwdriver was going to snap in half!! So I switched to the 8 inch screwdriver. Not gonna lie, it was NOT a fun time!!! Took me a solid 20+ minutes just to do that, and there was a little profanity, but FINALLY I got it to work. This was with the OEM Honda centerstand and spring. It's installed and all is good now. Again, THANKS!!!
THANK YOU! I was trying to use a spring puller at first like the Honda instructions suggest, but there was no way that spring was going to budge. The screwdriver method worked great though! Took some finagling and I should’ve used a Phillips head, but it worked!
Hi. The one I bought is brandless. I juat use it to stand the bike for chain maintenance and for washing the bike so I didn't see the need to buy a brand one, but this generic one works great. Hope this helps. Cheers!
Hello and thanks for this video. I just bought a stand that looks identical to yours for my 2022. Do you still use yours? Have you had any issues with it? I mean that hook that the spring is attached to seems to be very close to the chain and I'm afraid it might touch it while riding. Thanks in advance for your input. Ride safe!
@@TheRideandPlace Thank you very much for your reply. I finally received mine and I installed it. One issue is with the rubber stopper that goes to the right, on the exhaust side, it is touching the exhaust and half of it melted after the first ride. You can tell the difference compared to the OEM stand, the arms are a bit curved towards the outside, whereas those on the OEM go straight. That's why the rubber doesn't rest where it should. Have you experienced this?
Just finished installing my center-stand on my gsf1200, and I used that screwdriver trick (took about an hour to figure it out but it worked). Thanks bro.
Thank you very much for the step by step instructions!!
You're welcome. I'm glad you found it useful. Cheers!
Yes thinking of a center stand... Using a roller stand now for chain maintenance
Yes, the stand makes maintenance and washing the bike easier. A good thing to have. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing this. I was going to get the local dealer to fit one, but seeing this I think i could do it myself.
Yeah, it shouldn't take too long to do this yourself. Let's know how it goes. Cheers.

Nice, I'm happy it worked for you. The long screw deriver trick works all the time. Stay safe mate. Cheers!

@@TheRideandPlace no worries , can you tell me the link to purchase ,
Thnks .
The grease is for it to work like a bearing not just for installing. Should of used loctite on screws so vibration doesn't loosen the screws..
The nut came with dry loctite on it. However, I later undid the nut and applied some blue loctite on it. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the idea.
Does the stand for cb500x 2013 is suitable also?
Not sure mate. I specifically asked the seller for one that fits 2019 cb500x. Best to ask the seller for specific one.
Great trick with the screwdriver. I guess it has 2 springs in case one fails? subbed you hi from UK.
Grateful for the sub. Regarding the springs, I'm sure it's to ensure that the stand doesn't sag when disengaged.
Thanks 👍
well done thank you Sir
Those rubber pads should really be factory fitted.
I agree.

@2:52 She told me the same thing.
