  • How to fit givi engine bars to a brand new 2020 honda cb500x.
    ** at 7:33 the spacer actually goes between the engine and the frame NOT the bars and the frame. I had initially filmed it wrong and forgot to edit this in the video showing the correct way. **
    A step by step guide showing how we fitted them and roughly the time taken to fit them.

    Laura..@ around 07:33 I can't quite see if that bottom spacer is in the right place.....it should be between the engine and the frame and NOT the Givi bars and the frame.....I might be seeing it wrong...please check it.....wouldn't want you to have any future problems.

    • @Mtthwpez
      @Mtthwpez 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're correct. The spacer isn't in the right place, and so now the frame spar is probably being bent into the engine, instead of the spacer being between to support it!

    Are you sure that the “sliders” are meant to go there?
    It looks that the most exposed part of the frame is the upper part… but you can easily verify that laying the motorbike on the ground on a flat surface (better if on a smooth surface) and seeing which part of the tubolar frame touches the ground. That is also a good exercise for lifting the bike up after a fall.
    Probably you can also order some additional sliders to be positioned in less exposed areas (which might touch the ground on uneven surfaces) or as replacement pieces.

    • @lld-tv
      @lld-tv  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest no I’m not sure where they’re mean to go, there was no pictures for that bit so we didn’t quite work out exactly the correct location. I should take another look and move them to the top section, I think that’s initially where I believed they should go. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll take a look at additional ones too, might be good in other locations also.

    Note: lock washers should be installed on the nut end (not under the bolt head as shown @ 2:51)

    • @lld-tv
      @lld-tv  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes thank you for that. After posting it I had a message and we realised our mistakes so corrected it. The difficulty with not really have instructions is we were not sure which side the washer went. Thank you though.

    • @danielklopp7007
      @danielklopp7007 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lld-tv This is a universal rule (regardless of instructions)... ALWAYS put a lock-washer on the nut end. FYI: another universal rule; when following a torque specification (with a torque wrench), ALWAYS set final torque on the nut end (thus eliminating the extra friction from the bolt spinning in the hole, and therefore getting a more accurate torque reading). Note; these 2 rules are interrelated; due to the extra friction from the bolt in the hole, a nut will always come loose (from vibration) before the associated bolt starts to spin.

    • @lld-tv
      @lld-tv  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apologies havent been seeing my comments. I actually havent got lower crash bars on it. I feel the tank is the widest part and if it were to go over it would hit the top crash bars first. If i was doing more off-roading then i would probably invest in lower bars too. You can then get a centre stand that fits on the lower bars which is helpful for servicing.
