i sent my xbox to get repaired and this video gives me hope because if they dont fix it they still charge me for inspection which sucks. and it must also means they suck at repairing too
haha, just found this channel, bro i do the same stuff LOL, and oddly enough rite, i just got a xbox one s sorta like this, came from a dumpster, was opened before, power was unplugged, but everything back still dont work, havent tested past the power board yet, cause i think thats what the issue is, wont turn on, but anyway man love seeing this tho, always learn something from watching someone else ya know, keep it up love it man!! subbed and shared!
just for your help i do these all the time, if you get a butter knife and come from the side and slide in between the top of the clamp and the side where it clips on and twist these pop right off with no damage to the board what so ever. i have done the exact same thing as you have but you learn from mistakes
Yeah I've got a lot better at doing the disassembly over the past 6 months, but never tried a butter knife so thanks for that I'll give it a try. I'm personally popping the sides first now to make the back security clip a bit looser :)
@@TheCod3r i got a xbox one s here atm will power on then off 3-4 seconds later. everything checks fine but get no spin from the fan when power button is pressed. if i start machine with eject the fan spins for 3-4 seconds and then shuts off with the console. all mosfets,caps,coils are fine so im abit stumped tbh with you on what else it cap be
@@TheCod3r and trust me with the knife its like butter you know where i mean to come in from at the side where the clip is actually clipped to the heatsink pins
@@Finditfixitphilipit ah shoot sorry I thought you meant with the bottom plastics, yeah those x clamps can be a bit of a pain but I very rarely slip onto the board and most the time my finger prevents anything from happening
@@Finditfixitphilipit did you try injecting voltage into the board using a bench supply? 1-2v should be good enough to see if anything gets hot (heat usually equals a short somewhere or high power consumption). You could also try replacing the NCP4205 PMIC just off to the right of the mosfets or the TPS51916 which is a buck converter for the ram, just to the left of the mosfets
Been there done that with the x clamp and it makes you sick to your stomach. I now will put a microfiber cloth right up under the x clamp on each side I'm working on incase I do slip to keep the board safe.
It really does make your heart sink lol. To be fair it's not the end of the world if it does damage the board but that depends how well you can run a jumper wire lol

Currently trying to fix my son's 1st gen Xbox one. Cream soda was spilled in the fan vent. When the power sensor is pressed the backlight flashes once and the fan moves a couple mm then quits. Working to clean up the residue and replace thermal paste. Beyond that, any suggestions would be appreciated
I dropped beer in mine, dried it very quick it would beep on then off right away. I took it apart and cleaned the mother board of liquid stains with water and a brush. I didn't see anything missing or that would damage it. Let it dry again and put it all back together and it started working. After quiet a few hours of staying powered on it randomly turned off. I tried waiting a few minutes but it would beep on then beep off.I opened it up again all I did was blow the dust out of more places that dust could build up and connected it all back then it turned on again and started working. After quiet a few hours again It powered off again. What could be the problem I heard maybe the hard drive?
The hard drive itself would shut it off it would give you an error code give it a literal bath in 90 percent rubbing alcohol and let it try over night and it should work fine after some scrubs with a toothbrush
Yeah I watch Louos Rossmann and NYC is empty right now, really is bad over there at the moment i feel for you guys :( hopefully it all gets better soon
