    Dear lord!
    1) DON'T EAT THE SHELL! Always remove the peanuts from the shell.
    2) Always drain the liquid from the can before consuming. Put a colander in the sink and dump the contents in it before commencing to snack.
    3) It's not hair, they're roots.
    4) It's not a tail, it's a stem.
    5) Buy boiled peanuts fresh, not out of a can if you can help it. It helps if it's some rough-looking guy with a pickup truck on the side of the road with a huge boiler in a tow-behind trailer. A dog lying nearby is optional.

As an American who was weened on boiled peanuts over 42 years ago and has eaten them almost every day of every peanut season, I am thoroughly confused as to why forks are being brought into the video about boiled peanuts.
    Edit: What the actual F?
Ok, so the first rule of boiled peanut club is you NEVER eat boiled peanuts that come from a sealed can. That's just disgusting and you're asking to get sick. But I understand the nature of the beast that is The TRY Channel so ... at least you tried.
However, you are supposed to boil them at home. To do that, take a very large outdoor cooking pot that you would use for something like a Low Country Boil, and put the washed, RAW peanuts in said cooking pot (this can be indoors if your range can accommodate the pot) then fill it with water until you cover the peanuts twice over, AND THEN you add a bunch of salt, cover and bring to a boil, cook it on high for a while then lower the temp and simmer for about 8 hours or longer depending on if you did it right or not.
    Easy as that.
The second rule of boiled peanut club is you NEVER fight with picking the nut out of the shell with your fingers. The shell has a natural seam running down both sides so you just pop the whole thing into your mouth and adjust the nut so that the seems are set against the chewing surfaces of your teeth. You lightly squeeze with your jaw, cracking the already soft shell open, then after slurping down the juices that were contained inside the shell, you remove the opened shell from your mouth and THEN you can separate the nuts from the shells, consume the nuts and then repeat.
    Easy as that.
Some people will scoff at the idea of eating peanuts prepared in such a fashion. That's ok. Such people are called wrong.

@@sasquaatch6889 I've always eaten boiled peanuts as either an appetizer at a restaurant (like bread that they just bring out to everyone, some places do that with peanuts) or with a meal in the place of crackers.
I haven't ever heard of them being used as an ingredient.
You don't drink the liquid, lol.
They are still in their shells because they're boiled in their shells... you open the shells and eat them out of there just like any other peanut. Usually some of the shells will be soft in places and a few will be totally soft, but good, freshly boiled peanuts (i.e. not out of a can, what the hell is that) will have shells that are still mostly hard and definitely recognizable as peanuts both visually and tactility.

A good lager. Take fresh raw peanuts and boil them in the crock pot for 24 hours with cajun seasoning or crab boil (Zatarain's is best), big jar of jalapenos plus the pickling juice, a couple habaneros, and cajun salt to taste. The juice will stain clothing and furniture, but fresh and hot they are great with a good Red Stripe or other heady lager.

As a "Damn Yankee" (A Yankee who moves to the south & stays) I never had boiled peanuts until I was an adult. My expectation was for something that tasted like roasted peanuts or peanut butter.
