Hello awesome review! I almost pulled the trigger on the k1 but as I’m looking I see there’s a k8 I’m guessing it’s a newer version with more lumens. Have you heard anything or tried the k8? Don’t know which one to go for!! Lol
Just just bought one, and tried to watch something from my MacBook via the supplied HDMI cable. We got an image - but it was 2 images of my computer screen side-by side. Like I had two computers on the screen running simultaneously. Try as I might, I could not change it to display a SINGLE image…only two images, side by side. USB worked ok. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I have a couple of questions: Does it have a sleep timer to turn off the projector? Also, if a laptop or computer goes into sleep or hibernatin, will the projector turn off if it does not receive a signal?
Another great Video. Keep it up. I purchased the Wimius K1 projector after months researching. You helped make my mind up with your other indepth video. Thanks. Everything you said was spot on in that video. Good to see some honest reviews about products. Especially from fellow Brits. I am having issues with the sound on Mine. The built in speakers are great. But trying to plug my sound bar to watch Movies like yourselves in this video, but nothing is coming through it. Got Aux 3. 5 cable into Soundbar, then into projector. But nothings coming out. The Bluetooth works on speaker, but out of sync. I was expecting that after your first review, so not a biggie. Cheers lads. Keep putting out great content.
Yeah the line-out sound is usually very quiet without any amplification. Make sure the volume is at 100 on the projector remote, then slowly turn up your speakers. You'll probably find they have to be up pretty high unfortunately. But if you get a cheap mixer, you should find you get a hotter signal.
just got the projector, how did you get the projector soo close to the screen with a large image ?? Did you zoom out function through the settings and then just brought the projector a lot closer to the screen?
It's not zoomed, just at full image size (then slightly tweaked to fit the screen edges with 4d keystone). It's still around 4 metres away though, which is pretty standard throw for a projector like this.
Great video again guys , really informative, loved the tickets ! My finger was hovering over the buy button for the k1 but now I've just seen the w1.This seems to have very similar spec to k1 but has some updates and the fan is meant to be quieter. Dont suppose you have had any dealings with the w1? Any info appreciated. Also interesting to note that the ansi lumens are stated on w1 (350) were you ever able to measure the k1 actual lumens?. Keep the videos rolling and enjoy your film nights guys.
Not tried the W1 yet, but will be sure to make a video if/when I do! And in terms of "real" lumens, I haven't been able to measure, but my guess would be 500-800!
@@PhaseDriveVlogs Thanks Sam for getting back to me. After much contemplating between the two, we didn't get either. We were in our local currys for something completely unrelated and managed to bag a cheap epson 3 lcd that they had knocked down to £175, boom! Next I'm on the hunt for the brecon gin. Thanks again 😀
I was curious about your garden setup, as I'm watching my videos always outside (living in Thailand), but on my veranda and see that in order to get a decent picture size, the projector needs to be far away. My "screen" is about 2 meters wide and about 1.7 meters up. How far should I need to put the projector in order to have that screensize? More than two meters?
Wimius my ass... on some webshop it's Overmax, and i'm pretty sure i've seen that exact same model with the silly fabric style cover in at least three other flavors now. I'm never buying something that switches names so frequently, pardon me but that's highly suspicious.
It's effectively a whitelabel product. There'll be an OEM manufacturer then a few companies will license the product and slap their branding on it. There's no need to be afraid of these products though, they're still decent. I've been using this projector for 18 months and it's still working great! We've got a review on the channel about the projector in question, which does explain the whole whitelabel thing.
3:08 - no, that cable is not £200 🤦♂️🤦♂️
More like £10-£15
It was a fabulous evening! Excellent outdoor cinema experience- 5 star ✨ Thank you both!

I was wondering the same thing!
Love the hair cut and thanks for the review and lesson

You'll need around 3.5-4 metres throw in order to get that sort of screen size
If you can, consider sharing US amazon links so you can get referral money for sales through that as well!
Already sorted thx!
