I've very much enjoyed these past 6 or 7 episodes of this emotional homecoming. As a commercial fisherman and avid fan of Below Deck Sailing Yacht I've been wanting to get involved further with a membership and see where it can go from there. I'm guessing once I'm a participant in good standing we'll move closer to real time communications and information. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments and success! Ian's Haka made me shiver and the hair stood up on my arms! Such fierceness, such protectiveness, such pride of home! When Ian finished and said it was good to perform on a waka (?? - boat) because that Haka composed by his grandfather was intended to be done on a waka (?), the statement brought tears to my eyes. @udontknowjack said, "Ian is a legend and you could tell how proud he is of you." Since I'm not from New Zealand or even the South Pacific but born in the United States maybe I misinterpreted the Haka message but Colin thank you so much for sharing! You are so blessed to be so honored and to have such people in your life.
Most of us are lucky to have an old friend come for a visit. Very few people get to bring old friends back to share in a dream and a way of life. Great job Colin.
My wife and I attended the Anzac Day ceremony at Gallipoli some years ago. After the NZ service, which was supported by the Aussie miliary guys there, one of the NZ soldiers announced that thy army guys would be doing a haka and invited anyone in the crowd - which was large - who wanted to, to join in. There must have been 40 of us doing it. There was dead silence apart from the hala itself, which was very loud. Very moving for me, because my grandfather had been in the Gallipoli campaign iin 1915. It must have upset the Turks, because the next year the organisers were told there were to be no ,more hakas ... Great stuff, Colin and crew!

Wow, I find myself quite choked up from this episode. I have been recovering from surgery so have had the great opportunity to watch your journey from the beginning. All the ups and downs, hard work, good times, great friendships, lost souls, and acts of kindness you have all been able to share has been something beyond words. As a Kiwi who left home, in 1967, to explore the what was outside of New Zealand, I enjoy following your accomplishments, in the outside world, of our home NZ. The home arrival to The Bay of Islands, hit my emotional heart strings. Thankyou for sharing. Your video may bring joy to fellow Kiwis, that live away from "home", and stir up the inner proud emotions, only, a Kiwi can feel. Keep up the great life passage documentary, by sharing your travels. I was born a little too early to enjoy the lifestyle you are accomplishing. Not complaining, but given the opportunities that became available later in my lifecycle, I would follow your footsteps in a heartbeat!

I spent 20 years in the US Navy and watching Parlay setting in those dark blue waters really brought back memories of being on the flight deck of the USS Forrestal and topside on the USS John S McCain. The calming feeling that beautiful ocean gives me is like no other..... I'm using my wives ipad to write this, although it shows she wrote this, she was with me almost all 20 years, 35 years this past January...

I spent 20 years in the US Navy and watching Parlay setting in those dark blue waters really brought back memories of being on the flight deck of the USS Forrestal and topside on the USS John S McCain. The calming feeling that beautiful ocean gives me is like no other..... I'm using my wives ipad to write this, although it shows she wrote this, she was with me almost all 20 years, 35 years this past January...

Hey Colin, you should seriously consider getting a vacuum sealer for all your frozen goods, it'll keep them from getting freezer burn and all that ice accumulation! Also can I say I love New Zealand's Haka's, it's really amazing keeping that ancient tradition alive, also congratulations on making it home Parlay!

A very moving episode and hearing about your friends I have a pair of married friends that I have known for 50 years - they live in Crete we live in central France and use Facebook to keep in touch - as you said it is very comforting to have friends who cover most of your life time and know more about you than even you family.
