    "Original idly stayed for a week
    But not anymore due to quality of rice's and urad Dal ! " Says the video
    This is more important to understand what we are growing and eating
    Time to revive our desi seeds
    Forget organic it is just commercial branding

    Can anyone tell me that why Idli is everywhere in all South Indian States.
    I visited Kerala and Tamil Nadu in 2019. We ate Idli in both states as a breakfast. Why it so common in all south indian states? I also noticed Idli in some Telugu films so why its everywhere in South?
    By the way, i know its very healthy but why its so common?

    • @indhurajendran3225
      @indhurajendran3225 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      The same way Roti is common in Northern part of the country.
      Jokes Apart,
      It is because of the production of raw material.
      Rice in southern part and wheat in Northern part.

    • @spandanajsn119
      @spandanajsn119 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      That's because most of the south Indian states are rich in rice production (due to conducive climatic conditions and perks of green revolution) ...Andhra Pradesh is known as Rice bowl of India.....so rice is staple diet here. That's why you can observe that rice is taken in all three meals of the day ....as idly/dosa in breakfast, dal and curd rice in lunch and dinner ...as we slowly move towards north we can find that wheat is the major crip in most of the states ...so paratha, chapati , roti are common in north India

    • @ranveershersingh
      @ranveershersingh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@indhurajendran3225 I partially agree with you. UP and some other northern states consumed rice as first meal and wheat is optional there.

      Idly is a dish came to existance through the amalgamation of sea trading cultural assimilation. Fermenting process is borrowed from Indonesia, steaming techinique from Chinese, and love for rice and urd dhal in south of India. Unlike other dhals urd is grown as a side plant for Banana plantations in TN, so abundance of these 2 items gave rise to Idly. We love idly as its first thing we eat as kids, it goes well with anything, sugar, milk, hinoy, chocolate, sambar, curd etc etc....😉

    Not offend but ತಟ್ಟೆ ಇಡ್ಲಿ, thatte idlis are quite a common staple in southern Karnataka particularly in the old mysuru region. Every cookware shop sells stainless-steel thatte idli stands in their store. There's another type of fermented dosa or idli dish called gangala dosai cooked mostly in the malnad households gangala in medieval Kannada translates to plate the texture of the dosa is very different smooth nice and firm its called dosai but batter is like idli and cooked by steaming . There are so many varieties of idli and dosai some recipes are forgotten or lOST in time the earliest mention of idli kind of recipe so far found in India was in a 8th century kanadda prose called vaddaradhane.

    Not worth the hype it has created on the youtube. Tasted today with so many expectations, but alas I was taken aback. Normal idli or should I say even below average as it was prepared at 3 pm and served chill at 8.30pm, even without taking any effort to reheat it. Some credit goes to idli podi and sambar, but that also not in the extraordinary range. So people if u visit after all these hypes, plz keep ur expectations below and just have it only if served hot. Otherwise a big disappointment just like I had today.
