Welcome to Oz and especially to the Northern Beaches. I spent my first 12 months living in Manly where my Great Grandmother lived. I spent a lot of time in Manly. I spent the next 17 years in North Manly with my parents and a brother and sister. We then moved to Mona Vale. I love that part of Sydney. Hope you have a great time. Mike in Oz
The bird you saw is called an Australian Brush turkey. They are literally everywhere when there is bush around. The location of your residence there is North Narrabeen with Dee Why two suburbs closer to Manly. You were at North Head on your walk up from Shelly Beach. If you like long bush walks then drive to Forty Baskets and walk all the way around to the Spit Bridge then back again. Beautiful walk and not far from Manly. There are a few cafes there on the other side of the Spit Bridge for food and beverages if so desired. Also a nice venture up to West Head toward Palm Beach - beautiful up there too. Also could head to Bobbin Head/Akuna Bay area and hire a boat for the day. Nice video guys. Cheers. Enjoy your stay here.
The posh parts of Sydney are around its harbour. Vaucluse, Potts Point, Watsons Bay, Rose Bay, Point Piper, Double Bay, Mosman, Kirrabilli, Cremorne Point and the like. Manly? Not so much.
@@JamesandJosieTravel Well, you said something like "there should be a song", so I was telling you there is one 🙂 and by an iconic Australian legend. One of the finest singers on the planet but he was very young when he did this one. Enjoy your travels 🙂
@@JamesandJosieTravel ok here's one more Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed up in north Queensland. Jonny Depo one day Went in dressed up as his character Jack Sparrow into a hospital for the sick kids. There's a video of it if you look it up. 😎
Our family camped in a tent every year at narrabeen camp ground..where you ate now ..I had the time of my life..and lost my virginity on Narabeen beach

Ah, I see. We can just go by what we’ve heard previously as we’re not local. But this is good information, thank you! - James

Definitely more affluent in Manly then the West but posh? Not really. 👍
Cronulla is it for me.
We didn’t visit, but we’ve heard SO many good things! - James
It doesn't look "horrible" because it's cloudy. It's a glorious, shimmering, silver grey. ❤
You’re right. We’re just so tired of our “English weather” following us!
Everything is still beautiful… 😃 - James

Yes, that’s true! We will give it a listen 😊
FYI, Sydney has MORE than 100 beaches.
There are beaches along the coast line, harbours, rivers and bays.
We didn’t realise there were so many! How many have you visited? - James
