    When I helped lower a fusion we couldn’t get spring compressors in there either, so what we did was cut them. Very dangerous but it was really easy and they didn’t fly at us thankfully

      They are stock lights that I opened and painted the chrome black. You can get blacked out housings on eBay or Amazon then open them to install a halo. That’s all I did but with my original lights. The aftermarket lights are a lot easier to open. I spent 5 hours just opening the lights the first time because the glue that Ford uses

      Feels the same as having the car filled with passengers. Really not too noticeable to be honest. If you have a v6 then you probably wont even feel it. Your car will sit a little lower but not too much

      I have to add it is stiff over some bumps but others it isn't it definitely rode way softer with my stock wheels and tires before I moved to my 20's and low profile tires

    • @Treefork
      @Treefork 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChadMees Yeah I figured it would probably stiffen the ride. My car is 2.0t on stock 245/40/19’s. I’m sure it will be more rigid. If it’s too bad I’ll raise it up a bit but I definitely like the lower one finger gap.

    • @ChadMees

      David C check out my more recent videos. The car has been wrapped and I now have 20” niche targa wheels. The rice quality is definitely firmer than stock. The Louvers you have to remove the center section on the bottom and trim slightly the bottom edge because the mustang window is slightly longer than the fusion. As for the Godspeeds, they drop the car nicely but they ride pretty harsh through neighborhoods or bumps on the highway. 10mm. Rides decent on the highway but anything else is pretty jarring even with the struts on the softest setting. It doesn’t feel like the springs are doing much at all

      @@ChadMees okay, thanks I'm running through the same problem I can say. On highway and new roads I run smooth as butter, but on the city bumpy roads, they don't do so good. My next step its to probably adjust the preload to 5mm and how that works for me.

      I live in Pennsylvania, so you know roads are not the best.

      Rychardson that’s my next step as well it’s not terrible but I Uber out of my car and I can tell some bumps are a bit harsh for my passengers

      @@ChadMees I stop doing uber after I installed the coilovers, worst thing was hitting a pothole. The rear is good, but although the car has a small engine it has all the weight on the front, I wish the coilovers came preadjusted from factory, it's just hard trying to do it your self when you don't have lots of time and jacking your car every 20 minutes. Tomorrow I might be doing the 5mm preload i let you know, how it is working for me.

    Add some sideskirts and a lip to make it look even lower. Would definitely be worth it

    You did it the hard way. Those springs aren't under that much tension. Especially is you aren't driving and have another jack handy with a simple prybar. My experience is springs are not as important as good shocks, like the blue and yellow ones. I'm seriously gonna try just measuring my old springs and putting them on the bandsaw before i buy shorter springs again for hundreds and hundreds of $. I'm more concerned with cast and camber and all that when I'm done. Don't be afraid to mark your bolts and take pictures. Cheers
