Have only recently found your channel. Having watched your videos while getting over Covid just wanted to say I'm enjoying your walks (many quite local to me) and commentary very much; thank you!

They are hard miles a lot of the time with all the very steep steps on the coastal stretch..I usually aim to do it in around 6 days or so averaging 15 to 18 miles . Last year I had to do a 24 mile day not finding any camp spots after Saltburn so pushed on to the Guisborough Woods where there some nice ones . I m same as you with carrying lightweight gear .I don t even cook .lighter the better .Thinking of trying out a quilt next time to knock 250 gr off and have more space

Skelton is the very last place to stock up if you missed the big Sainsbury s .Theres a Co Op on the High Street very close to the path. I always make sure to grab a couple of 500 gr pkts boiled sweets as basic carbs which are well needed . Next water source is either ask at a property in Kildale , Kildale camping barn or the station at Kildale which has toilets and a small sink .Next one after that is Lordstones Cafe .No where to filter

You really was pushing out the miles daily Jonathon .I can t do those milages nowadays , I m too old . You must have been pretty exhausted to do it in under 5 days .Probably the fastest I ve seen on these vids although one bloke has done it in 3 days which is bonkers

Funny you should mention the miles, done a couple of sections of the Thames Path recently with 26 mile days, but have worked out that’s not sustainable for the SWCP in July. So I am going back to the Cotswold Way to see if I can do JUST 18 miles in a day wild camp to wild camp. Hopefully I will produce o video of how I get on.

I always do the Cleveland Way Filey start .Seems to make sense to get to the moorland section when you have had 60 miles training and adapting to the heavier weight carrying extra food and water with no where much to restock or get water .Kildale Station has a small sink and Lordstones Cafe is on the route for food .Also a small cheap campsite barn at Kildale . I like your Zpacks DCF job but it's very open to the elements in bad weather unlike the Durstan X mid DCF under 500 grs and highly recommended but pricey . I m trying out a 400 gr Atompack on my next walk ..debating about a quilt ..That path at Runswick needs a variation..When tide is in you re stumped

    Hi WWJ,
Just rewatched the Clarendon way video and realised you haven't posted for a while. Hope everything is okay and wishing you a merry Christmas. Up the Latics and up the Cherries,
    Chris

Thank you for your concern, I am fine I did Offa’s Dyke in September and October (did not go as planned) and have promised myself to get some time to finish the video and upload before the new year. Loads more walking planned for next year, for the moment avoiding the cold and enjoying the festive season. Merry Christmas

      Hi
      We look forward to that...
We live in north Devon which has some wonderful walks
Have you about walks in devon
There is the south west coast lone which takes you from minehead to hartland which has stunning coastal views , or the tarka trail which winds through vallys and beautiful countryside
      Regards

Be wary of strangers bearing gifts . I know out in the countryside everyone is usually friendly , helpful and kind but I come from a crime riddled place and I'd never accept a drink or food off somebody I'd be worried it was laced with something , Especially when you're saying after eating it you feel perky and full of energy lol Maybe I'm just paranoid and thats why I love walking and hiking so much it gets me away from the bad place I live in
