- I critically think to problem solve a data analyst project in Tech. As a business intelligence engineer at Amazon, my role is a mix of a business analyst, data engineer (I use ETL - extract, transform, load and data warehouses), and a data analyst. I talk about how to do analytical thinking and what types of tasks can be done using excel, sql, python, and a BI visualization tool. This video goes through a SQL project for a data analyst and is helpful for anyone trying to understand what data analysts do, how to become a data analyst, and analytical data project (portfolio) ideas.

How long does it take to finish this project?
Now this video is excellent! Nothing on TH-cam is as clear as this video, for someone aspiring to get into Data Analytics. And it's answered my Stats question. I didn't think about the communication aspect with the team, and assumed that a data analyst should know the metrics themselves. Great view into the full lifecycle of an analytics project. You had me LOL @ you jumping right into making a dashboard as soon as the PM requested it and then j/k right after. 100% requirements need to be clear. This is where communication and soft skills are so important
100% agreed. LinkedIn just came out and said communication is the most in demand skill for 2024 so yes analytics and communication will be SO important for data analysts.
I love how you went through the requirement-gathering process and the critical thinking involved. You also highlighted the communication aspect. Great video!!! Please can we have more of these types of videos? I feel that a lot of people focus more on the hard skills.

I loved this video, I am learning the basics of SQL now and Python for data analysis and I never thought about the automation and updating of the information part, excellent advice.Especially when you advise making non-saturated dashboards to add as required, I loved it

I'm currently working in cyber security and have started toying with the idea of maybe moving into a data analyst role. Some people look down on excel for data analysis. How important is excel in your work flow
Excel is a powerful tool but limited in the ability to work with big data. How often you use excel will vary by industry and company. When I was in healthcare I used it a lot and now in tech I hardly use it

how do u scrap the data?
In my job I don't scrape data but there are a lot of online tools to do that
I see how now programming languages like python or R are used.. some people told me to Start with python
