The "7th Injector" is not necessary because fuel is now being injected in the exhaust stroke by the main injectors to do an active regeneration. Cummins has been doing this for awhile in other models like the ISB.

Thanks for the information, I have been thinking about that possibility too. Let’s hope it doesn’t have bigger complications if one of the main Injectors misfire. It will be a pain for the owner to pay more money for something that was simpler and cheaper before.

@@LetstalkDIESEL nope. It’s better this way trucks have been doing post injection in the exhaust stroke for years.

They don’t need the seventh injector the newer engines regen based off fueling algorithms, trust me it still regens

Thank you for the information. I performed regeneration in one of those already. Quite interesting that the computer said in the aftertreatment injector status: Dosing.

Base on your knowledge and. Experience what engine you recommend on Cummins what year is it worth the difference with x15 money wise. Gracias.

A good question indeed. Seems like there small differences between the x15 efficiency series and ISX15 series, as I showed in the video one of the major concern will be about regeneration process, because it does NOT require a 7th injector or HC doser block to be done. So for now, people who has Cummins engine older than 2017, it is better because it is know in depth for the technician, in the other hand with this new design you never know what it can happen in a long run. Money wise will be better to keep an engine that people know already that an engine that is new for the people, which might require new parts that are not in stock and gives new headaches to the Technicians. I hope this answer your questions.

@@LetstalkDIESEL they haven't perfected the regen process on this engine just yet like they have on isb's without the HC injector. we have had a truck come into the shop with x15 engine cylinder misfire and found out the valve seat was sitting 1 inch higher than the rest of the cylinders when we took the head off found the piston damage and head damage. long story short full inframe and the new cylinder head was done at 150k miles. the engine oil was diluted with fuel. I have seen this on small maxxforce engines before

@@Sharkiec This is good information, thanks for the heads up, our fleet still about the same early miles (around 100,000 - 150,000). Around 250,000 - 300,000 will see how it goes.

Those are good engines (at least better than the A26), for now the only issue we are having with these units are oil leak from the front cover or making noise from there as well (over 600,000 miles). But the engine core is good as you can expect from Cummins. I hope this little information help you to get a better understanding of what are you buying. Thanks for watching.
