I want to thank you so much before I found this I was almost crying at the mess the embroidery was doing I just bought a second hand machine I did this and it’s working perfect now thank you so so so much
Thank you SOOOO much! I knew it was bobbin tension but was afraid to touch it because they had some sort of green plastic on it. I scraped it off, adjusted it and viola! :D
Thank you so much for this quick fix I have been struggling with this issue on my Brother SE400 for a few years. Problem solved with a turn of the screw on the bobbin!
“Quick Tip: Tension Troubles (Bobbin Shows on Top)” I find that when I have a problem with the bobbin thread coming to the top there is a good chance that under the spring on the bobbin case trash has collected under it, gently use a Straight pin and open it up and blow on it to clear it. Lint gets under there and causes you trouble. I find when I do this it clears the tension problem up. Don't have to reajust tension up or down. Hope this helps, enjoy your tips.Thank you JD
Thank you so much. I have adjusted but still having issues with the bobbin thread coming through. I am new to embroidery so have a lot to learn. Does the stabilizer or the material I am using have anything to do with the bobbin thread showing (mainly on the right hand side of the design)? I have a Janome machine and have adjusted the bobbin tension as well as the thread tension and the bobbin s still showing through.

Seven years later.... 1/2 turn right on the bobbin tension worked on a Husqvarna Diamond! ❤thanks!
Excellent!
Thanks!!!! Turning the bobbin to the right worked like a dream.

Your tip is also really good! However, my machine was brand new doing this, so both tips are quite helpful.
