- You know this week’s guest from Shaun of the Dead, Mission Impossible, Star Trek, and much much more. I can’t understate how immensely cool Simon Pegg is, so I’ll simply say that he is a very rare member of the sci-fi trifecta club (Star Wars, Star Trek and Dr. Who), which we discuss in this episode, and a fact of which I am equally impressed by and envious of. As always, stick around for the hindsight, and that’s what’s up!

Hi Katee! Really enjoy your podcast and in particular this episode. Here's a personal anecdote about Simon Pegg. Years ago, he made a romcom called Man Up with Canadian actress Lake Bell. It was set in London. Some of the filming was done on the railway. At the time I was working as a Commercial Guard for South West Trains, the company who worked train services into and out of London Waterloo. The film company hired one of our trains. The filming was done on the train, on the platforms at London Waterloo Station and on the main station concourse. After a series of fortuitous circumstances and a lot of hard work, I found myself working as a liaison between the railway company and the film company. My task was to oversee safety procedures (fantastically important on an operational railway) and to help facilitate the smooth running on the filming exercise. It was hard graft. There were about 300 extra's and not a moments peace! However, on one occasion during an official break in filming, I was fortunate enough to find myself sitting on the train we were using, chatting to Simon and Lake over lunch. I'm not a film or television enthusiast and, although I knew about Simon, my knowledge was very limited. However, It could not have been a more normal occasion. He was such a nice bloke! We chatted about his career and our work on the railway. I felt completely at ease. Both Actors were just normal people. No airs and graces, no arrogance or stuffiness. Just two people doing a job. It was a pleasure top work with them both and Simon could not have been nicer. Towards the end of the day, A sound engineer asked me to make some announcements over the train Tannoy. He said it was just to test the sound levels. To my complete surprise, when the film was released, I was stunned to hear my own voice making the announcements on the train at the beginning of the film! It is a happy memory and was a pleasure to work with them both.
Wow! What a lovely story!!
I saw Simon on the thumbnail and thought: WTF! Outstanding podcast!
Awesome episode, Katee 😊 . Simon is such a kind human being and I wish he had done his c3po impression 😅 loving the show and can't wait for the next one.
Great episode. I always love "if not for being in this specific spot at this specific time, we never would have met" stories.
Thanks Katee and Simon, very enjoyable conversation.
In England we were treated to Simon on Big Train (brilliant) and Hippies (ok) before the amazing Spaced series, so had high hopes and were not disappointed.
Absolutely loved this podcast!! Congrats to Tilly getting the part!
Simon is brilliant and so dang lovable!!
Thank you Katee for this great opportunity to get to know him so much more!!
Also, wish I could see those pram photos as well as the BB8 pics!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Really loved this conversation, love to hear behind the scene stuff. Awesome podcast Katee. Congrats Tilly👏👏👏
What a great and wonderful interview with @SimonPegg! So much fun, down-to-earth and very sincere. The topics of #StarTrek, #StarWars. #Sports, #ChildRearing and more were so interesting to hear!
@TheSackhoffShow is fantastic!! Thanks Katee and guys!
❤️🧡💛💚💙🩵💜
Dang, you got Simon Pegg in??? That's so cool! Him playing Reepicheep in Narnia The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was my absolute favorite, also a cool tech guy for Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible. What a nice conversation you guys had :) Can't wait to see him in the new Mission Impossible next !
Great episode ..
Can't wait for Mission Impossible 8
@18:50 Great story about the random London apartment pretty much leading to his entire career.
Then not long after (about 20:48) he talks about how there WILL be another Edgar Wright, Nick Frost and Simon Pegg movie.
Katee! Oh my God! You in Star Trek would be perfect!!! 🖖🏼✨
Great interview with Simon Pegg! 👏🏾 He came across as a genuinely good person. As a fellow sci-fi geek, 🤓 I loved hearing his take on the genre. I love everything from books to Doctor Who (Time travel stories are always a win), & of course, Star Wars is cool..
But Star Trek? That's on a whole other level. It dives deep into what a possible future for humanity could look like, & that's what makes it so compelling.
He is one of the actors who was in Star Trek, Scotty, AND Star Wars, Unkar Plutt....
Simon is awesome! Hopefully you can get Edgar and Nick to guest later, too!
This interview is just amazing, Katee! I've been a fan of both of yours since the beginning of both your careers and I truly felt I got a real sense of getting to know you both in a much more 'real' way!! I truly hope I meet you guys someday! Love ya!!
I love Simon Pegg so much.
Just found your channel! Super cool. Looks like you’ve had some fantastic guests and I can’t wait to view them.
I absolutely love Simon Pegg. I really wish they would do a Paul sequel.
I guess people are trying to say something about non video, but frankly I like the fact that it’s just voice. Katee, never change, you do you boo.
Great interview. Thank you
She explained earlier on that the change was based on logistics and life changes not on cost. I don't know why people feel entitled to videos. I understand it's an adjustment to go from video format to just an audio version, but it is better than nothing at all.
Add to this the fact that she has explained the reasoning behind the decision, multiple times. Accept it and be happy with the goodness that you're getting.
Loved hearing about Jeff😂
Simon is one of the best celebs on the planet. I've loved everything he's done so far.
When Tilly called, that was wonderful!
Great interview!
Thisbis great! Thank you 😀👍🏾🖖🏾
Love the entertrainment, would you consider Fantasy like the Wheel of Time? Love the Star Wars Trek stuff, and the humour.
Katee I loved u on The Education of Max Bickford and your pink hair !!
SCOTTY:"I LIKE this podcast!!!"
Great interview
Great Interview
Totally amazing
Also love that you nabbed Simon Pegg!!! One of my MOST FAVORITE UK actors in the last 20 years, aside from his buddy Nick Frost and the growing list of others from Hot Fuzz and The World's End, Mission Impossible, etc.
She got the role!!!
"Mommy Bo Katan" 😻😻😻
I would recommend also video recording your podcast talk, even if it's not all perfect, it will be real.
Peg! The Peg! The Pegster! The Scotty!!!! #ShaunoftheDead
If you want shows that are the staples of British Humor and comedy might I suggest the following...
Porridge
Only Fools and Horses
Blackadder
Spaced
Faulty Towers
Simon and Nick have made some of my favorite films. Simon is hilarious. I wish he'd make a film with Tricia Helfer. She's a total smoke shop
Katee continues to kill it, this is outstanding!!
Best podcast of the year 😊 dm
You should get Ewan Mcregor, I’d love to see you chat with him
Love you Katee!
Awesome
Great interview. Would love to see you interview Rebecca Ferguson one day.
😂Wanted to watch this video, but I'm not "watching" a video for an hour or so with just a single image. It's just not the same as your original older interviews. Seeing you and your guests on video and seeing their reactions is what makes these conversations more special and interesting.
Haha you probably traumatized your kid with the most adorable star wars character ever, baby yoda😆😂(grogu)
Is Katee forgetting about Captain Janeway? Captain Hernandez? Captain Batel? Captain Freeman? Captain Burnham? There's plenty of female captains.
so, hats off
I want to go boarding with both of you, and no worries about getting hurt, I'm a snowboarding Ski Patroller. : )
I couls see Simon Pegg in Dune Messiah.
Katee, would you consider getting Dave Bautista on the pod cast as a guest? also, maybe a guest spot on Mandalorian?
Fancy a cornetto?
That song is more Dragon Tales than Imagine Dragons.
One of these days, I'll have to get around to watching your Battlestar Galactica. Never saw any after really disliking the original. Just for personal perspective, I was a rabid fan of TNG, The X-Files and Stargate SG-1.
First 25 eps of rebooted BG are just immense. After that it’s more of a mixed bag, but there’s still a lot of good stuff in the later seasons.
@@bonglesnodkins329 Thanks for the info.
@@terenzo50 Oh, and if you do make a run at it, remember to watch the mini-series/pilot first. If you just watch S01E01, you'll wonder why everyone is in a big fleet on the run from the Cylons with no explanation.
Movies that everyone seems to hate, but actually really good, Jersey Girl, but everyone burns it cause it was not the normal Kevin smith type of movie. Bonus Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck
This should be good.
8:00 The nerd in me can't let this go. Star Wars came out in 1977, not 1978. Unless it wasn't released in the U.K. until '78.
Dengar
You people need to chill on the video. It's time consuming and expensive to edit a video and she has a life. She doesn't owe you video.
The saddest part of it is that these are adults who cannot move on. Emotional maturity isn't what it used to be.
Let's hold a candlelight vigil and put the matter to rest.
Sure! However, it does make the content less compelling, and it’s already pretty bland, so the audience will be smaller.
@@avengemybreath3084but that's your opinion
@@MichaelHeal99 right
@@MichaelHeal99 that is easy to measure.

We want video, Katee!!
🙌🏻 🌟 🎬 😎
Good afternoon. Hey katee. I just wanted to know that. Do you know when Longmire is making a new session
Thats it!!! There it is! Katee just volunteered now get her as capt of the ship before she moves on you fools!!! Shes calling you out leeeets goooo..
Yay - she got the role - that is the best way to end the podcast
Simon Pegg would be a great against type Joker voice in the new Batman animated series maybe Sackoff as an against type bad a** combat journalist Vicki Vale?
13:00. What's that from?
Nothing more relatable to the average fan than 2 multi millionaire actors talking about all the vacations they have taken all over Europe.
Love you Katie! You're amazing I miss seeing you in movies and stuff. What are you doing lately, movie-wise... I guess I will check IMDB. HAHA
Simon Pegg said the Star Wars fandom was the most toxic in the world. He's not the king of anything but a sad little hill in a sad little echochamber. Next podcast can you ask him about the wild success of the Acolyte?
Do yourself a favor and look up that Au Revoir Chris Hemsworth video that Simon mentioned. Youll be laughing the rest of the day.
No nickel back!
Hopefully Simon's Benji character didn't die in this upcoming Mission Impossible film 🙏🙏 because Rebecca Ferguson's Ilsa Faust character is being killed off like a chicken and becoming a corpse on the Venice bridge in Mission Impossible dead reckoning part 1 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Nickleback doesn't have better anything than anyone, an impressive feat for a band that was constantly putting out new albums. I remember being so annoyed that there always seemed to be a new single from them on the radio, and it always sucked.
I just think that the latest mission impossible movie felt too bloated. I think at almost 3 hours it is way too long of an action movie and that was only part1. Maybe it would have benefited from stricter editing.
🤍🤍🤍
WHERE IS THE VIDEO?????
Tom Cruise should be in federal prison
You would think that actors would appreciate the visuals of people talking together?
My guess is that it's impossible for an actor to relax, be themselves and have a real conversation when a camera is on. Theyve spent so much of their lives thinking about lighting, makeup&hair, blocking, posing& positioning.. once cameras are on you don't just forget about all that
Wish it was video format :( It's hard to just do audio for me, ADHD or something
Funny, my ADHD loves being able to do other things while listening to a podcast.🤷🏼♀️👍🏻
@@KateeSackhoffOfficial well we are the same i guess, but at that point I notice myself paying less attention 😜 All these hard luxury problems 😅
Why no video Katee?
She made an announcement at the beginning of the year that she wouldn't be able to do video for now. It's a lot to edit a video on top of the podcast. It's time-consuming and expensive.
Sorry, I have been loving the podcasts with video and I need the video.
I truly love Katie and Simon, but this is TH-cam, and cameras are incredibly cheap. Why are we going back in time?
Faster to post, plus she's probably busy.
Focus on the conversation. Take a walk and listen to this.
What happend to your face?!
Nothing…same face I’ve always had. I hate comments like this.
What kind of question is that?
