I used to hate to stretch, but with doing it correctly, now I really like it and have made huge improvements. Consider this. Just as we need to take breaks in our hard training to let our muscles recover, we need the same for stretching. If you are happy with your stretch, you can do it every day, but if you want to get better, you need to take at least one day off between hard stretching sessions so the ligaments and muscles can recover from the induced damage.
Wow you have improved on your splits. I was only stretching 3 or 4 days a week and wasn’t improving now I’m stretching everyday and now I’m able to do the splits. Good job
Im a second degree black belt from Canada i have a tournament next week saturday my past 2 tournaments i got a bronze and gold medal im hoping to atleast place 3rd
"The thing about stretching is that you have to be consistent", truer words have never been spoken(sigh!) I'm getting off the couch this very moment, ok, maybe in a couple of minutes...
I always keep forgetting to stretch but i know it's really important overall. I also want to say you are really flexible and competitive and just really impressed on how you were able to overcome your right Achilles and looking stronger and sharper than ever overall just an incredible how sharp you your movements are after you went through rehab your resiliency was just amazing to see how much you continue to fight and continue to have a smile on your face to keep on grinding and that you were going to be stronger than ever in taekwondo than you were previously before.🥋😁👍
The problem I have with the sidesplit(30s then lower one) is that my arms are too weak to support my body for too long :/ anyone have tips? It is kinda frustrating i lost my flexibility from last time, but im really hoping I can regain it
Hey Alex not sure if you can answer this but I've been trying to get my side splits for years now but I always stop because my joints keep grinding. And the joints in my knees keep pulling and getting tight. It feels like I'm going to break myself if I keep going so I stop. I have had injury in my hips before but that was early high school and now im outta college. Since you don't have your splits quite yet either、 ever felt this or do you know what the heck I'm doing wrong?
Late answer but you seem to have the same problen as i had you may gotten a answer already but it seems like you stretching your body to far when it get uncomfortable stay in that position for a few seconds it shouldn't be painful and your body will gradually get more flexibility but remember to take breaks stretch every other day and take a break in between hope this helps😊
Great video. Imho stretching isn't working for everyone though. Some people really need a trainer to supervise them so they don't overstretch. I've been doing tkd for 6 years in my late teens, always overstretched and had trouble. I'm 40 now and work out on my own on a heavy bag, find out what works just right for me. I hardly ever stretch anymore but instead slowly warm up kicks on the heavy bag. Within 10 mins i can do whatever move i want to without pain or worry. More flexible and stronger now than i've ever been. I don't believe in benefits of stretching at all anymore, yoga maybe, but stretching no. No i can't do splits and i don't have a channel for proof, but really is there a point to splits other than to look impressive? I've gained more flexibillity sprinting full blast for 40 meter dashes than i ever gained from stretching. Again, maybe stretching works for some, imho it doesn't for everyone and can actually be harmful. Careful out there people, be careful with your body and especially joints and ligaments. This girl is very skilled and has a lot of talent and the right build for this, but not many people do. Find out what works for your own body type, is your goal your health or is it being able to do a split?

Yes, I'm 43 and just obtained my Blue Belt. It's awesome. Stretch a lot and take it slow but you can do it.
