  • I was born into secrecy, my very existence a whisper in the shadows of a dying age. My first breath came in the year 2931 of the Third Age, but the weight of centuries past already lay heavy upon my infant shoulders.
    They named me Aragorn, son of Arathorn, but that name was quickly hidden away, replaced by Estel - hope. A fitting name, though its true meaning eluded me for many years. I would come to learn that hope can be as much a burden as a blessing.

    Love it! One of my favorite aspects of fantasy are the origins stories. Even when I play online games, I always play the beginning over and over and over because I love origins. I love beginnings. Well done.

    I hate to nit pick such a superb presentation but it was Glorfindel who rescued Frodo at the Ford of Bruinen, not Arwen.

      Ah, you are most correct, good catch! I got that sequence, mixed up with the scene from the Peter Jackson movie that was playing in my head

      Yeah, I agree. I enjoyed parts of Peter Jackson's movies, but parts of them weren't very Tolkien, like in the movie, Aragorn slaying the mouth of Sauron. There was a ceasefire and the mouth of Sauron was a negotiator. Totally against the code of valour Aragorn was meant to embody. But your video is so sublime, so what if it should've been Glorfindel who saved Frodo? Glad it got pointed out though, since I feel Jackson's lotrs movies are over-rated.

      It is not on the priority list I'm afraid, as this video has performed rather poorly. It might be a subject not many find interesting... I had hopes it would do a bit better. The videos about the Dark Lord Baddies always do better though, so I guess I shouldn't complain :)

    Another masterpiece. Absolutely breath-taking. Thank you so much for posting this. My only gripe is a small one and purely down to personal taste. I never liked the Aragorn of the movies. He'll never be Aragorn for me, both in apearance and in behaviour. Regarding your video, I wish you had shown a more handsome version. This one is gross. He looks like a homeless person sky-rocketing on crack, not the future king of the Dunedain. The actor who played him didn't have a regal bone in his body. Lol some of the orcs were better looking 😂

    • @numenorean81
      @numenorean81  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your kind words, friend! Your comment about the orcs gave me a good laugh. 😄 I actually deliberately leaned into that weathered, rough appearance since this portrays Aragorn during his ranger days, particularly when tracking Gollum through treacherous swamps and wild lands. As a ranger living in the wilderness and constantly on the move, maintaining a pristine, regal appearance would have been pretty low on his priority list!
      Really appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective on both the art and the character interpretation. It's fascinating how different readers envision these beloved characters! 🙂

    Frodo crossed on Glorfindel's steed.
    This is blasphemy.

      Yes, my only gripe with this...I enjoy this channel, but the lore should be based on the books, not the movies. It was a shame Glorfindel was omitted from the movies.
