I poured my heart into this piece about Melkor's life, and I'm very happy how it turned out - my best work yet I think. Anyway, thanks for watching guys!
@@fred20097 I love that you say that! It's interesting - the Witch King video really divides people's opinions. I get both praise and a lot of hate for that one.
Hearing a detailed account from Morgoth's perspective is really interesting. I really enjoyed it. I'm imagining myself as Morgoth's cell mate in the void as he regales me with stories of all the crazy shit he did before he got locked up. Hahaha
This is fantastic! Adds magic to my day. I can't thank you enough. Can't resist adding, it's a shame Tolkien maligns spiders so much. They do so much good and save many lives. Without them, all life on earth would cease. Ungolient in contrast is more black hole than spider. I'm glad how in the game shadow of war, they made Shelob on the side of good, giving Talion visions to help him fight against Sauron. But Tolkien's novels doesn't help their cause at all. On an entirely different note, I wonder what would've happened if Sauron gave Morgoth a ring of power? Someone elsewhere suggested that Celebrimbor was a better craftsman than Feanor because the rings were much more powerful than the simirals. One thing that you could say Sauron was though - he was loyal.
Thank you Fred! You raise an interesting points about spiders and their portrayal in LOTR. Yet, someone has to take on the mantle of the 'bad guy' in these stories, and if it falls to spiders, so be it. Though I agree, they are very beneficial in reality. Tolkien's portrayal of Ungoliant and Shelob really reflects our primal fears of these creatures. for the comparison between Celebrimbor and Fëanor, I'd argue that while the Rings were indeed incredibly powerful, the Silmarils contained the pure light of the Two Trees - something truly unique. In my mind Fëanor comes out on top (just slightly), and the Silmarils as well. An interesting thought experiment about a Ring of Power for Morgoth, though I imagine Morgoth's inherent power might have been too vast and chaotic to be enhanced or contained by even the mightiest ring, but who knows?!
Hey all... share this channel with everyone you know. We need to promote this purist to a million+ subscribers. He's worth it. Few can write like this . . . few love Tolkien's work as he does . . . few.
Thanks! This is absolutely astonishingly good. I cannot wait for Sauron pt 2. Have you considered put on spotify. Id love to be able to listen back on various videos offline.
Your characterization of Melkor kind of reminds me of the advisor from Dungeon Keeper. You could almost like the guy, even though he is pure evil and only ought to be dealt with via judicious use of a bolter or chainsword--yes, I am mixing universes, and no, I am not sorry. As with your other videos, well done and I hope to see more from you.
One very tiny tiny observation - and this is not a criticism, but a few times you've gone from first person to 'eye of God', referring to Melkor as a separate person. Very easy to do. Just thought you might want to know if you read this
@@numenorean81 nope. For example, around when Melkor talks with Ungoliant. There's a 'he growled'. But it didn't detract from the sheer grandeur of the video at all. I really loved your work. It's beyond astonishing.

Amazing work! Absolutely brilliant!!
It is wonderful! Thank you!
This one is truly a masterpiece.
I think your best work was becoming the witch king. I enjoy all your work, but so far, that's remained my favourite

1 minute in, and I'm so amazed by you. Your style and narration puts loads of audiable titles to shame.
Keep up this awesome work!
Great work! Really felt like I could see from Melkor’s perspective.

That was Pretty much ( AWESOME )
wow, beautiful
Thanks!
I can't thank you enough Michael!
Great!
Wasn't the sun created after Melkor was held captive for 3 ages after the elves went west?

Ah, I hope it didn't distract too much. Do you remember when it occures ?

Lol left-tenant not loo-tenant 😊
Made up Ai stuff
Some things will be speculation/creative additions of course, that is the fun part.
