Our microwave tripped the breaker when we stopped the cooking cycle early by opening the door, if we let the timer stop the cycle or we stopped it before opening the door it was fine. We thought we had an electrical issue, after having it checked out by an electrician he suggested to us to research the microwave on youtube. After watching a couple videos we replaced the 3 switches and a couple other items and it still didn't work properly, then we ran across your video and after doing your suggested adjustment you saved us a few hundred dollars, my wife and I were going to meet at Lowes tonight after she got off work to buy another microwave.
Thank you so much for your very detailed fix to this issue.

Thank you for this video! We have the same microwave and it’s doing the exact same thing. I try to fix stuff around the house myself to try and save a buck, but I know nothing about microwaves. This video gives me a great place to start, and hopefully resolve this issue.

Wow had this problem, intermittent for sure. I can not believe that the manufacturer would design this to blow the circuit breaker!! This should not be acceptable, and could be a fire hazard! Thank you for taking time to share this problem. You have probably saved people hundreds of dollars. I purchased a new switch online for about 8 dollars. Again, thanks!!

Yeah it's crazy it's supposed to be a safety for the door not being able to open while the microwave is still running but the door is so flimsy

It looks like mine is doing the same. Do you have a link to that switch? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for this video! Had the same issue. Excellent insight on the center switch...I glued a small piece of plastic to the lower door latch to properly engage the center switch button...problem solved!

Extremely helpful video- I just used a little screwdriver to “unstick” it. I guess the little button got stuck. Saved me from buying a new microwave.

Another issue could be the switch holder. You can see the wearing track from the hooks at 3:33. That small groove is preventing the hook from hitting the normally open switch at the same time as the middle normally closed switch. The slight timing difference can blow the fuse. I had the same issue and replacing the switch holder solved it. Unfortunately this is the second time I replaced it. Next time this happens I will just disconnect the normally closed switch since I don't need the safety features it provides anyway.

What model of micro wave is this? My CGMV176NTF is doing the breaker flipping now as soon as power comes to microwave.
