By far, I am not a camper anymore. Last time I went tent camping, I think I was 16 years old! I am now in my late 50s and stuck in a wheelchair. Watching your videos, I imagine my self, where you are...experiencing what you experience. Brings back wonderful memories! Thank you :)

I don't know if you realise the sheer standard of journalism you bring to the table here. You have a sense of integrity that is getting increasingly difficult to come by in this day and age. When it comes to the "reviewing stuff" sphere of things I consider you the gold standard when it comes to credibility and independence from financial pressures. You manage to do this while also making some of the most beautiful, relaxing, educational and all-around wholesome videos I have seen. Keep up the good work!! (PS: You should check out a Finnish youtuber called Ali Leinio, I am sure you will absolutely adore him if you don't know about him already.

I worked in production out of college, and all I can think is: set up the shot, start the camera, run back on the the trail, walk past the camera, walk back to the camera and retrieve it. Walk on and repeat. Hats off, man - that is so much thought and work and energy into creating a great final product.

I am new to the channel, and the thing I like about the videos are that Luke makes you feel like you are right there camping with him. I can watch for hours. I get my 15 seconds or 20 seconds of Zen, when he shows the views or listens to the rain on the tent. Great work Luke, wish I knew you in person. What a great friend you must be.

Yay! Less expensive but serviceable gear! Right up my alley! Sure, I'd love to get gear I could use for a generation. Nothing better than tried and true gear. I stumbled upon a little 2 man tent at an army surplus store that I got for 30 bucks. I've used it for at least 15 years until the poles broke. I bought repair poles, but never fixed it. I still have the little blighter! It got me through a tornado touch down near my tent, and some high winds during winter that bent the tent down almost to the ground. Small is strong!

The advice on gear selection was excellent and would behoove newcomers to listen and practice it. I loved this adventure and appreciate all you and Susie do for the outdoors community. I remember when Walmart stocked Lithic gear and that it did not last and recall Lithic items being returned to Customer Service. I would chuckle and think, yeah, Luke was right. Five hundred bucks is a helluva bargain for quality gear.

That smoke bug repellent reminds me of my childhood. Used to be drive-in theaters would sell those in a spiral shape with a little metal stand. You would light it up, put it on the dashboard, and be able to enjoy the movie with the windows rolled down. At that time I lived across the river from New Orleans.

Luke, I discovered your channel, about a week or so again, and to say I'm addicted is an understatement, I'm a 68 y/o young at heart, but can't imagine doing what you do. You could say I am living vicariously through your adventures. It warms my heart to see the love and journeys you and Susie do together. I get exhausted walking the dogs, lol, I cannot imagine hiking some of those mountains. I love the storms and snow adventures. after living in Minnesota for 35 years, I appreciate the cold and weathers unpredictable nature. my philosophy is you can always get warm, but you can only get SO naked, legally! Ha Ha give me cool temps and light breezes. Such a huge fan now and am going back to watch all your videos. Your a true outdoorsman and your appreciation and respect for nature is inspiring, Hugs from Iowa my "new friends", safe travels! cheers from a fellow coffee lover!

it is so cool you guys can just camp out in the wild.....that's not allowed in my country. You can only camp out on those familycampsites thats filled to the brim with tents and caravans. You do have campsites in forests, but still thats no where near to what you in the US can do; you're still at a familycampsite on a grassfield where it's filled with other campers. I wish we could do what you do; just camp in the wild ( well; semi wild, because there's no real wild over here....except for a few wolves who recently made my country their home again; they had been gone for more then 100 years and now they're back), I would really get back into camping again. For now I just enjoy your campingtrips.

Where to set up your dumpsite, how to set it up, and how to leave it. what kind of toilet paper to buy and other little things that no one ever talks about. I'm sure you know exactly what I mean. Thanks again for rolling back the years.

Just want to say thank you for continuing to do these videos. I'll be honest, I'm too used to crappy reviews and pushed products that when I first started watching this channel and saw "agenda free", I thought, "yeah, right". But over time you have proved that you're a very reliable source for no nonsense, well tested reviews for products and great at telling stories. I think I'd have run out of things to say by now if I were doing this. You and Susie are awesome, even if I'm not interested in a product I still enjoy these videos but when I am looking for a product, this is the first place I check.

Great episode Luke... Nice, suitable gear selection with relevance aimed at the high value to lower cost options. Content like this where the gear speaks for itself vs. typical review format is a good way to go.

Please send some rain to the coast of NC Luke. Our corn and soybeans need it. Thank you for the video.

Bibimbap is kind of a savory leftovers dish. Bowl of rice mixed with whatever proteins and vegetables you have. Add sesame oil, soy sauce and gochuchang and you’re in business. You can also make specific types without the leftovers. The red spicy sauce is gochuchang, a fermented red pepper. Your local Target and Walmart should carry it.
