A couple of years ago we went skiing in the austrian alps. We took of at 21.00pm and drove all night. Somewhere halfway the temperature started to drop and at some point it was -12°C. The further we drove the colder it became. When we crossed the border between Germany and Austria we stopped in Reutte at a local gasstation to check our windscreen antifreeze because it was frozen from the wind and cold air. So after a nightly 800km ride without sleep in a warm car and dirty windscreen from the salt i went out the car to wipeclean the frontscreen. At that moment it was -23°C and i realy thought i was going to freeze instantly. The day after it was even colder and the locals advised us not to go skiing because we are not used to such freezing temperatures. It could damage our lungs at 1060m altitude. I'm 52 and will never forget this unique moment. It is a once in a lifetime experience.

Hello Luke and Susie. Congrats to Lucas on his decision to further his education, looking forward to that proud Dad moment myself in about 6yrs. She's going to be 12 this year, she put us through a scare last summer when she caught covid and spent 6months in the hospital. Our little Christmas miracle, she was finally discharged on Christmas Eve.
Omg thank God she's okay . I know the feeling but mine were about two of my friends who didn't make it they both passed away a month apart from one another . Anyway I'm glad your little girl is alright . Thank you for sharing and God bless you and your family !!!
Oof. Thank God, right? If she didn't make it home by the next morning, y'all would have had to visit her. so thank God that she's okay. I hope this never happens again!
Having my coffee with Luke again. Somehow makes my coffee even better. He just takes me away for awhile to places I would love. Thanks Luke and tell the Beautifull Suzy We ALL Love her... Peace and be safe.
The storm you experienced is exactly the typical storm we get here in SW Ontario through January then again in March/early April. High winds and tiny snowflakes, switching to white-out flurries. Then freezing rain/sleet, changing to heavy snow. Then a deceptive clear weather day. You drive out on the snow, which is hopefully thick enough to cover the ice layer, it's slushy going (especially on the shoulders) until you get out in the open spaces where the snow that fell is now gusting around creating brief whiteout sections. When you said you took off your windshield cover I literally said "Noooo! don't do that!" at the screen, I knew the freezing rain/sleet was on its way.
@@twiztedclown at least our county typically uses sand/salt mixture unless it's not the right conditions then they rely on sand but we get a lot of ice here next to the lake so it's usually the mix.
I watch a lot of your videos so I may be wrong about this and just have bad memory, but that is the first time I’ve heard you swear. That’s how I KNOW it’s windy out lol
By the time that storm got to NJ we got about a foot of snow. I spent 28 hours plowing the roads in our county and wished I was home and warm. Respect to you buddy for going out in it and camping none the less. You are the man!! S&H
This and last year have been crazy with snow, I'm 25 now and these winters we've had the most snow in my lifetime, at least if I read the local weather station reports correctly. I live in the middle part of Finland and in the past three weeks we've probably had over two feet of snow twice not counting all the other days it has snowed, the banks on sidewalks are up to my waist or chest (I'm 5 feet 8 inches according to conversion) the dump pile alone in our apartment buildings parking lot is probably 8 feet or more and who knows what is going to happen, we still have like a month until spring starts to melt snow.
@@johnstevenson9429 None taken, it's just something you get used to, cleaning car from snow and other snow plowing related activities can get old though ..
Brussel sprouts are just mini cabbage heads Luke!.. lol... Cook them in butter once, salt and pepper them, Enjoy!!! They're Delicious!!!! Great video by the way. What an adventure! Get a filter on that Buddy heater! That's your problem.
Great video, but as a survival instructor I would not recommend leaving your vehicle without at least the basic gear regardless of how much experience you have or how short of a distance it was away from your vehicle, with how bad that wind was and with that snow it could have turned into a complete whiteout and you could have lost your bearings and that is never good
So which basic gear are u talking about? Flashlight, emergency cooker, sunglasses, matches, iPod ? I realy would advise a pair of goggles which Luke didn't wear.
@@kirstendl1724 for starters something to make fire and a decent full tang knife and at least a lightweight rain suit for wind/rain protection and holds in body heat and then also maybe a bivy and/or small roll of thick mil plastic and a small pot to melt snow for water, and maybe some high energy protein bars, kit don't have to be big, just using in a emergency
Prayers for your friend who passed away from covid. My son had covid back on december and I had the omnicron virus. We have both had covid when it first came out. Prayers for Joe's family. You froze me just watching your video. I hope you make it home safe. Love the music and the song. Stay safe .
Hi Luke , there's nothing in the world like having a child to be the first to go to college . So CONGRATULATIONS to your son Lucas . Peace , love and much respect to you and your family , Thank you for sharing your video . Outstanding content like always 💯👍👌😎
That woman you mentioned checking your truck with her light might have been a theft opportunist. As someone who works night jobs, I've seen a lot of folks get their vehicles broken into in remote areas because a thief saw them un-occupied and unobserved. She probably got close enough to see or hear you and decided there wasn't a chance for a quick grab.
On a related matter, I was worried the person in the truck might break in while you were out. I see the truck was moved later on, so they must have given up on that. Another good reason to carry! Be safe than sorry!
Finished the second half of the video finally. Those long ones I can only watch in two parts . Our winter here in New England this year has been very cold and average snow fall for us. Life is always changing. Kids grow up and we get older. I'm facing retirement this year. Life goes by so fast. Make sure you enjoy it while you can.
Ya know, I live in south Florida after growing up in Northern Illinois. At least during a hurricane I am warm. I have vivid memories of the blowing biting wind and slogging through drifts. You can’t imagine how entertaining your winter camping series are. THANK YOU! You are giving me all the winter I need, and testing out products to boot. BTW, based on your test results, I bought a pair of the shell gloves for riding my motorcycle in the rain while touring in the fall. Thanks, and keep up the good reports!!
I went through the blizzard of 78 with a gas stove. As long as your home is setup for it you’re good to go. I went through Hurricane Charley with my cat and dog and over 100 mph winds. Give me a blizzard any day 😊🥶
I can hardly imagine it. I come to the keys 1-2 times a year. I think that's close to south Florida (I love that the Denny's in Largo has a bar!) That said, the only times that I was there that had anything to do with any storm was something akin to "probably a bad idea to go on the water today....: (Of course, while at least one waterspout was visible). God, I love the Keys. You guys are so cool.
When we were living in central Illinois, on Christmas Day in 1983, the temperature was -35 F with a -58 F wind chill. Snow up to the gutters. My driveway was about 15 feet by 20 feet, and I spent approximately 8 hours shoveling my way out so I could get to work the next day. We now are retired and living in Florida. Occasionally, around Christmas time someone will ask me if I miss having a “White Christmas”. My response is always the same. “If I never see snow again, it will be too soon”.
Yup, you are all the blizzard camping I need! I do love winter camping, snow is a bonus. But those conditions were above me! Enjoyed it so much as usual
Congratulations, Lucas! Regardless of whether it leads to a career, I think you made a wise decision. It’s a very good thing to expand your mind and experiences. You will meet students from all over the country and the world, which will broaden your views considerably. You will learn not only facts and how to do things, but you will also learn the why of things, which can be very enlightening. I hope you make the most of your college experience. Good luck!
Pertaining to your heater. I noticed your running a hose from the large tank instead of using the 1lb containers. If you are not using a Mr. Buddy hose. The more generic hoses are known to deteriorate and pug the inlet of the heater.
Correct. An inline filter is required. I have one on mine with no failures. Don't know anything about fixing this new blockage. They are great heaters. Happy camping. So sorry about losing your friend to covid I have lost 2 last fall.
I just watched a video on safety of the Buddy heater. it has a zero oxygen shut off safety switch. and also the heater will shut off before theres any co2.Kinda tripped me out. i use mine in my tent as well and have been ok. I dont run it while i sleep which i think no one should.
That's a BLIZZARDCANE! Thanks a million for taking us on your adventures. Luke you have a wonderful family and life. . . You Sir are a lucky man! All the best to You and Susie and Lucas and all of your family! Strength and Honor!🤠
I would love this because I'm such a book geek. I would have hiked for a while, just for the rush, but what a perfect trip for hunkering down with one of my beloved books! A book, a joint, a nice cuppa...perfect.
I’ve probably watched every one of your videos and I’ve got to say that this one is probably my favorite of all time. Thanks for hours and hours of great videos!
new to this channel, i am an avid rustic camper. normally i dont like it when camping youtubers spend as much time talking as you do, but your commentary works. cheers!
Great vid! A true adventure! Cat litter works great too…nice traction to get out. I do have to say I’m soooo happy I went caffeine free back in 1996. I never ever ever have to worry about up and down cycles or feeding the addiction. I just get up and go and never have to have caffeine to start my day. I sleep so well, and wake up refreshed! Drinks? If i drink a soda it’s Sprite. It’s been the best decision I’ve ever made in my life, and I’m blessed I broke free of it.
That's the way it goes sometimes, you can't always predict Mother Nature. Say hi to Madison and my congratulations to Lukas on being the first in the family to attend a major college. Also, I would like to send my condolences to Joe's family and all the family's dealing with a loss in these troubling times.
Lucas, I love your cold weather videos. Having served in the US Army for 20 years and now retired in SE Asia, I do miss the seasons and thoroughly enjoy your experiences, shares about camping, field craft and side notes. Keep up the good life.🙏
Hey Luke, loved this. Winter in the mountains is so picturesque. Sucks that your buddy heater died. I too would like to say something to those who have lost loved ones: Blessings to the memories you shared, may you continue to carry them with you to help get you through the pain and bring you peace.
Congratulations to Lucas I know he will choose the right college for him. Love video Luke as always. Great curtains Susie blocked out the wind coming it seems. Can't wait for the next one. And prayers goes out to your friend and his family during his loss. Stay safe and warm S&H. RIP Mr Buddy ⚘
Hi Luke and Susan, thank you for the great video as always. Congratulations to Lukas on college and his sister serving our country. Be well and best wishes.
I use to be that way about the Brussels sprouts but I learned that they tastes better than other vegetables. I couldn't stand mushrooms but now enjoy them. When Brussel Sprouts are cooked or Spinach, there would be lots of butter and vinegar/water also lots of black pepper. To me when young, mushrooms were like eating rotten meat but now enjoy mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, garlic and Jalapeno peppers ( all sliced up and cooked together than laid on top of my steak that's medium rare or less, as long as it doesn't Mow! ).
I just had to service my Heater Buddy after 4 years. A #2 philips screwdriver, and a couple wrenches in 12mm and 14mm are all you should need. I took all 3 internal lines loose, flushed them with a cleaner/degreaser, and blew them dry with compressed air. I left out two screws on the front half of the shell to simplify future service, but immediately put it back to use. After a short test to verify there were no leaks, I ran for about 8 hours on low on a 20° night to give my outdoor cat supplemental heat in the garage. His "bed" in the garage is a synthetic sleeping bag and electric blanket folded up on a couch. In a completely uninsulated 16x20 wooden structure, the Heater Buddy kept it around 50° ambient. With his other bedding, he stayed toasty!
Congratulations and well done Lucas. A wonderful adventure, I enjoy watching these and listening to your recollections of growing up, Luke. So sorry to Joe's family, this thing has been crazy. God bless all who watch as well as you, Susie and family. ❤
I also caught covid I spent 17 days in the hospital 12 were in ICU I missed Christmas with my family I was very lucky to make it out I missed 2 months of work just now I returned to work I have a whole new look out on life I feel bad for the family that lost their loved one
as a single Dad i used to come home every night at 6 o'clock and cook my kids dinner, your Dad sounds like me. for me it was the only time i spent with them, id finish dinner then go back to work but it was the best time ever. two shops and a removal company to run but they still say they appreciated the time we spent together. wish they would come visit now lol
As always a great video, but this one really brought back some memories, not freezing cold camping, not outdoor adventures, but the Brussels sprouts story. Like you, I hate them, have since I was a kid, but your story was similar to mine. One Christmas when I was about 9 years old we had dinner and darned if there weren't Brussels sprouts on the plate, I gag at the smell let alone eating them. I couldn't do it, I tried just because my Dad told me if I didn't I would set there until I did, no playing with my toys, nothing. Everyone finished eating, I was still setting there, my brothers were all playing, I was still setting there, dishes were all most done and I was still setting there. It was agony, but I would not and could not stomach them, and even if I would have tried then, they were ice balls they were so cold, so had to be even worse. I could hear my brothers having fun, they were even playing with some of my toys as I could see from where I sat into the living room, and when I complained I was told I could be playing with them if I ate my Brussels sprouts...couldn't do it. Around 9 o'clock it was close to bedtime and I was still at the table when my grandmother, bless her soul, came out and took me by the shoulder over to the garbage can and told me to scrape the plate off. Then she said to to go play for the little time left before bed. When I went into the living room my Dad stopped me and asked if I ate my Brussels sprouts, what should I say, grandma told me to come in and play, but before I had a chance to fess up and tell him what happened, my blessed grandmother stepped into the room and as straight faced as I have ever seen anyone, said, "He cleaned his plate up". Nothing else, never said I ate them, and didn't lie, clean your plate always had meant eat everything. What could my Dad say, he couldn't question his mother, her word was gold, so I played for a half hour before bed. Years later after I was fully grown and my grandmother had passed away, we were all having a family dinner and old times were talked about and my Dad said something about Brussels sprouts and of course I said I hated them. My Dad laughed a little and said he remembered a Christmas when I was little where I was so stubborn I wouldn't eat them even to be able to play with my toys. I told him I had a confession to make, and told him what grandma did, he said he knew later but couldn't say anything, it was his mother and he would never disrespect her, but he checked the garbage and saw the Brussels sprouts. To this day I can't stand the smell of them or eat them and I am going to be 69 years old in a few days. Funny how old memories can be rekindled, hadn't thought about that in years. As Bob Hope used to sing, thanks for the memories, even bad ones can been good looking back. Sorry this is so long, but no way to tell it without being that way. Thanks for another great video.
Hmmm ..I see . .. Interesting you took time to explain this sometimes as a kid we will find ourselves in that kinda predicament with a parent !..I think Brussels are for adults not kids anyway..Good story there, I will leave it at that. Stay well
I wasn't sure if I even thought my daughter needed to go to college, but she went to UofL. She's a junior now, and I can't tell you how much she has grown over her college experience. It was a great thing for her to get off her mom's hip and live in an appartment on her own. I think that part of the experience is just as valuable as the knowlege she has gained, if not more.
I know it’s a year ago, but you need to use a mr buddy Heater filter when using a big tank. When you get home just take it apart and drain all the gunk out and clean. Put it back together and should start. Enjoyed this video. If you take a spray bottle and mix 3/4 full of rubbing alcohol and 1/4 of water. Then spray it on the window and it will take the ice off your window and it’s safe. Saves a lot of time. Just a little something I’ve discovered.
Hello 👋 Luke, greetings from Northern California. Great video my friend. You set a fine example of stamina and endurance. All the best to you and Susie. Stay safe out there. 🤗
To Joe’s family. Thinking of you all at this time. I’m so sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. Sending you much love and hugs from Australia. I hope you find some peace in remembering the many memories of the thousands of days that you spent time with your Joe. Take care. ❤️❤️🐨❤️❤️🌻
You gotta get serious and put up a wall tent. Lightweights like folding up in strong wind, which can be deadly with wood stove. Really amused by this video, being from Northern Ontario Canada. We just went through many days of -40 and -35s. Camping out can be quickly deadly here if you dont know what u are doing. Snow up to my waist now as well, making wood harvesting very difficult.
Hi, Luke cool episode But I would like to Say that that passage you read or requote it was nice thank you and my heart and prayers goes out to the young man who passed way Family and friends
Your Lucas is your “Mini Me” lol, he looks a lot like ya Luke. Congrats to him and his education. I was the first one in my family to enter college as well, exciting times for him as well as you & Suzy too (don’t cry too hard Suzy). You were really tested on this trip, but you sure did stay positive.
Fantastic adventure. Your advice at the end was beautiful. Life is so different for all of us. It makes you wonder why it is so much harder for some than others. I do know that choices play a major role in how your life will go. Then there are things that we have no control over. So live your life with God as your guide. For he is good and faithful. He is always coming after you. Give your heart to him.
I have used Mr Buddie heaters for years and have gone threw a bunch. Trick use a filter !!! Buddy makes one. The small bottle are a lot more filtered/ pure. Bulk tanks are not filtered / clean Use a filter and your buddy will last a very long time. Tip # 2 when going out in what could be bad weather always have 2 sources of heat.
Incredible storm. Very interesting video. A big congratulations to your son for all of his hard work, hope he gets into his first choice!:). Lovely quote you recited, I hope it brings comfort to the family.
20f isn’t bad. When I left for work yesterday morning it was -33c (-27f). The seat of my truck was as hard as a rock. That’s not unusual for our area. You get use to it. Also for this time of year we usually have 3’ of snow on the ground
I really enjoyed this video Luke. I watched your channel years ago but lost track. I've recently rediscovered it and have been binge watching. Love your unbiased reviews on camping gear.
That weather reminds me of being in Cantwell Alaska when I was a kid, out camping in the winter with my dad and younger brother. So freakin windy and cold.
I keep coming back to this vid to watch. It is so comforting to know you are in a heated truck shelter and good warm sleep system with a raging snow storm outside. This lulls me to sleep everytime. Always wondered why you guys that use Mr Heaters, especially with a bulk tank, don't burn them through the night when you are in extreme cold?? You do realize they are a catalyst heater, so no CO2 develops. Plus it cuts off without proper oxygen
For anyone whose never had Jimmy Johns, when he says packed full of salt, that's incredibly true. Even for fast made cold cut subs they're *super* salty. One every now and again isn't that bad but definitely not a daily food.
just a bit of advice... instead of making curtains for your cap, just go to harbor freight and buy some moving blankets. the kind that protect furniture? yes, they also add insulation to your truck cap. kinda like a quilt on your bed. just a thought, great vid as usual. thanks for taking us along
Wow! What a great adventure with the truck! I can hear that wind whipping! That is neat they collect sugar water from the trees, what a find! congrats to Lucas, college is such an awesome decision. so sorry about Joe,, prayers for the family. A very touching passage thank you for sharing...
heck of a great video Luke . to Joe's families , my thoughts are with you and i pray that god will be with you and Joe will be around you as well. i too lost my mom March 21st 2021 from liver cancer . it's hard but , know that Joe will be with you always
I think the water tank and extension of water outward is for maintaining this fire access road. It foot hiking only to cut down on the washboarding and washing out of the fire access road. After a washing rain followed by super dry, the ruts harden, making quick passage of maintenance vehicles very difficult. They drag the road to level it off and to do so. During dry seasons, they spray the road so people can walk along it without having to eat so much dust. Good camping! You seem to manage to stay comfortable.
Clean the heater lines with alcohol and blow them out with compressed air. Propane is oily from refilled large tanks and over time the oil builds up and clogs the lines. The hoses leach oils as well and they add to the buildup. Helps to use the Mr. Heater Fuel filter which at the moment is on national backorder.
I enjoy your videos so much. They so remind me of when I was younger and we went camping as a family and even as I was in my late teens. Early 20s camping with friends just brings back pleasant memories. Thank you so much. You're just such a warm. Caring down-to-earth person. ISO enjoy watching you and your beautiful wife and hearing about your family adventures, thank you.
Your son is such a good looking man who looks so much like you!!! I hope all goes well for him and he enjoys his classes. Tell him hang on in there they will get easier as they start to find out the pattern the way the class is being run.. He will fit right in then!!!!
Love the family dinner stories. Each week Mom fried a chicken once a week and fried pork chops smothered in tomatoes soup. Thanks for bringing back the memories!
If you use the big tanks for the buddy heater, you need to put a filter on the line between the tank and heater hook up. Those bbq tanks run dirty. I don't know if you had one, I didn't see one when you hooked it up. But That is most likely the issue. I've ran my buddy heater for years, changed the filter once a year. No issues still running strong.
brussel sprouts recipe for toaster oven or grill: - cut all in half - put on a pan - get a little bit of olive oil on each half, enough so the salt will stick. - Use Tony's Chachere's Creole seasoning and put on as much as you want. - bake/grill until the outside look crispy. Eat with your hands or fork.
After using those heaters for years I have found that the bulk tanks often have dirt/rust inside. They make a filter to use with bulk tanks. Never have any more problems. I use them for two weeks solid during deer camp.
Having been truck camping many times in cold weather I made it a habit to chain up my truck in case of bad snow. I learned the hard way how difficult it is to install tire chains in 3 feet of snow. Love this channel keep it up.
I bought an electric power pack generator for 125. I believe it's 400watts. I also bought the micro heater The Bud I think it's called I love both. The low setting on the heater is 175 watts, so it's good, high is 225 watts I think. I bought all this gear, Luke, I'll blame you, lol. I want to waterproof the fly on one of my tents, with a gallon of mineral spirits with dissolved clear silicon one tube. People are a ravin, so will try that. If it does well, I'll make a few tarps. Congrats to your son, your whole family.
I'm a Brit so we have sprouts every week with Sunday dinner 🍽️😁 if you want to try sprouts..first boil until soft, then take your fork get a scoop of mashed potatoes, 1 sprout and, and this is the thing that makes it delicious, a scoop of apple sauce 😋🤤 😋
Something you need to think about and you can order it from Amazon or you might check some of your local truck stops in your area a 12 volt electric blanket!!! They come with three settings low medium and high and I've had one for 14 years. I don't even remember how many watt they are you just plug it into your cigarette lighter or on yours you can plug it into your jackery keeps you nice and warm. !!!! And you need to get you some of those thermos hand warmers they come with like 8,10 ,12, and 18 hours. And sometimes towards the end of the winter season you can get them on sale at Walmart for like 3 bucks a package. At one point I bought almost everything they had. And Zippo makes a little hand warmer that you just put a Zippo lighter fluid in and last up to 24 hours. And I know they make an electric on the friend gave me one for my birthday you just plug it into your phone charger I don't remember how long it takes to charge up but it has I think high medium and low. !!!

That was a sweet passage to recite for Joe's family. It is so true. Congratulations to Luke on this great life journey he's about to take.
Luke... Please take care out there. Please take extra food. A long time friend got caught out in that weather and unfortunately didn't make it.

This and last year have been crazy with snow, I'm 25 now and these winters we've had the most snow in my lifetime, at least if I read the local weather station reports correctly. Get a filter on that Buddy heater! That's your problem.
Great video, but as a survival instructor I would not recommend leaving your vehicle without at least the basic gear regardless of how much experience you have or how short of a distance it was away from your vehicle, with how bad that wind was and with that snow it could have turned into a complete whiteout and you could have lost your bearings and that is never good
Luke don’t lose his bearings…… 👍🏼😄👍🏼
So which basic gear are u talking about?
Flashlight, emergency cooker, sunglasses, matches, iPod ?
I realy would advise a pair of goggles which Luke didn't wear.
@@kirstendl1724 for starters something to make fire and a decent full tang knife and at least a lightweight rain suit for wind/rain protection and holds in body heat and then also maybe a bivy and/or small roll of thick mil plastic and a small pot to melt snow for water, and maybe some high energy protein bars, kit don't have to be big, just using in a emergency
Good point. Plus, anyone who things GPS on their phone will work in these conditions ... you are in for a big surprise!
@@weltboy21weltzin78 But Mr. Buddy let him down.
I’m shivering just watching this. I am not a winter kind of girl. I like it warm out.
She also might have been checking to make sure no one od'.
On a related matter, I was worried the person in the truck might break in while you were out.
I see the truck was moved later on, so they must have given up on that.
Another good reason to carry! Be safe than sorry!
@@lightwalker4558 If you watch, @45:48 Luke tells us the dude in the blue truck was his friend Mark that he grew up with.
my mr buddy wasn't working and i cleaned the condensation at the tank and the heater side on both connections.works fine.gets moisture in there.
Love this guy. So humble and down to earth❤️
Give me a blizzard any day 😊🥶
No p
I can hardly imagine it. I come to the keys 1-2 times a year. I think that's close to south Florida (I love that the Denny's in Largo has a bar!) That said, the only times that I was there that had anything to do with any storm was something akin to "probably a bad idea to go on the water today....: (Of course, while at least one waterspout was visible).
God, I love the Keys. You guys are so cool.
I have heard him swear before and sometimes muffle the swear words. It's no big deal to me, I use the Same language and I'm female.
That is really risky with the limited visibility. Exploring with no visibility can spell disaster.
Luke you go the extra mile for our entertainment....I don't believe that I would have left the truck and the heater...LOL
Just reiterating so people get the hint. The oils in the hose build up and clog the heater.
Thanks for hours and hours of great videos!
new to this channel, i am an avid rustic camper. normally i dont like it when camping youtubers spend as much time talking as you do, but your commentary works. cheers!
His videos are very entertaining. Makes me feel good every time I watch one.
Best hour I have spent on TH-cam in a long time !
Keep up the good life.🙏
Thank you for your service in the Army! How have you been doing now that you moved? How are you doing in general?
Hey Luke, loved this. Winter in the mountains is so picturesque. Sucks that your buddy heater died. I too would like to say something to those who have lost loved ones: Blessings to the memories you shared, may you continue to carry them with you to help get you through the pain and bring you peace.
Glad I watched thru the end. You're a good man Luke.
To me when young, mushrooms were like eating rotten meat but now enjoy mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, garlic and Jalapeno peppers ( all sliced up and cooked together than laid on top of my steak that's medium rare or less, as long as it doesn't Mow! ).
Excellent video as usual, Luke! I especially liked the message. Very encouraging. Strength and honor.
Good for Lucas. At my age, barely move at all. Good luck to him in all his studies, hope he gets into where he wants and subjects he wants.
Get a wheelchair, that'll make it easier for you to move!
I also caught covid I spent 17 days in the hospital 12 were in ICU I missed Christmas with my family I was very lucky to make it out I missed 2 months of work just now I returned to work I have a whole new look out on life I feel bad for the family that lost their loved one
That’s crazy i had covid too but with no symptoms. Crazy how human bodies differs from one too other. Hope everything goes out great for you.

Glad you made it 🙏🏻 my friend died of it in the 1st wave she was 47 one child of 13 whom she was bringing up alone. A terrible thing.

as a single Dad i used to come home every night at 6 o'clock and cook my kids dinner, your Dad sounds like me. for me it was the only time i spent with them, id finish dinner then go back to work but it was the best time ever. two shops and a removal company to run but they still say they appreciated the time we spent together. wish they would come visit now lol
The blizard was magnificent. Thank you
Yes sir I want to say I appreciate and thank you, for your speech about Joe and his family and gobless, Be safe be careful have fun and be inspired.
Nothing like the weather turning an outdoor TH-cam channel into a cooking TH-cam channel. Love it!
Yes sir I could not have done it any better, the winds are what is the problem you did a great job buddy.
I was in my house the whole time while watching you and although in a warm house I felt cold just watching you in those freezing temps!!! 🤣
I lost my dad and two cousins to Covid all in the past 12 months and two in the last month. Joe’s family I am praying for you all.
You should always use the buddy system when going camping. Always bring two buddies with you it's much safer that way! LMAO 🤣
Dude you son looks exactly like you it's awesome he's going to college I wish u all the best
Easy to see you're proud of your boy. Thats cool man, good luck to him.
Take care.

Would have been nice to see how a four season tent held up in this storm.
Hi, Luke cool episode
But I would like to Say that that passage you read or requote it was nice thank you and my heart and prayers goes out to the young man who passed way Family and friends
Always love these truck camping adventures. Even more so when it's snowing out. Thank you as always Luke
Lived in Oregon, had snow tires or chains. Why not have them?
Excellent choice Luke, good to see you again God bless you always stay warm
And on top of that they have a pilot called an ODS the heater shuts down when oxygen level gets down to about 18%
For anyone whose never had Jimmy Johns, when he says packed full of salt, that's incredibly true. Even for fast made cold cut subs they're *super* salty. One every now and again isn't that bad but definitely not a daily food.
I like the Vito with peppers every once and while. Oh yah
We have Jersey Mike's here and same for them with the salt
just a bit of advice... instead of making curtains for your cap, just go to harbor freight and buy some moving blankets. the kind that protect furniture? yes, they also add insulation to your truck cap. kinda like a quilt on your bed. just a thought, great vid as usual. thanks for taking us along
One whipper of a storm there, pretty gnarly heh-- and congrats to your boy! It's a big step but exciting, i'm sure he'll do well. Strength and Honor!
Congrats to your Son and many blessings to him and looks like your twin.
Poor Mr Heater Buddy a loyal friend willing to give his all, to ensure his friend doesn't freeze to death.
Man I love the micro cabbages, (brussel sprouts) . different strokes for different folks.
I'm a high-school manager at Jimmy John's and you got the Bootlegger but dig the choice 😆 👍
Thank You my Friend GOD BLESS You All 🤗🌿👍🏻
If you use the big tanks for the buddy heater, you need to put a filter on the line between the tank and heater hook up.
Those bbq tanks run dirty. I don't know if you had one, I didn't see one when you hooked it up. But That is most likely the issue. I've ran my buddy heater for years, changed the filter once a year. No issues still running strong.
brussel sprouts recipe for toaster oven or grill:
- cut all in half
- put on a pan
- get a little bit of olive oil on each half, enough so the salt will stick.
You are doing something. Your teaching us about cold conditions outdoors.
Love your stories...keep them coming! That's how our generation grew up...ahh the good Ole days. When the world made some sort of sense.
Great Video
Big Mess take care
We all got Covid a week ago, God's Grace has once again pulled us through.
Safe travels Stay Well
Having been truck camping many times in cold weather I made it a habit to chain up my truck in case of bad snow.
Congratulations to your son and proud parents.
