Found out that it was to raise awareness for ALS and I remember thinking “how can dumping ice on your head raise awareness???”, not realizing that I had become aware of the disease because of the “silly trend”. 3 years later my mom developed ALS, and 2 years after that she passed away.
If I recall, as I did the challenge too - the water was cold as hell and temporarily made my muscles super difficult to use. So it was kind of a cheap way to mimic ALS. Hope you're doing okay these days ❤

It was approximately at midnight when the aircraft went off course and started making sharp maneuvers that could not have been done by autopilot. Many search teams tried locating the main chunk of wreckage but only small fragments of wreckage and passenger belongings washed up on shores of many different countries on the Indian Ocean. It is considered the most expensive search operation in world history. There are many theories but the one with supported evidence is that the pilot crashed the plane. Anyways RIP to the victims of MH370 and my condolences to their families. 😔
