It goes along way. I bought a gallon and 2 quarts to paint a 30 foot Cutwater hull and I put 4 coats on and only used 3 quarts. It lays down nice and smooth. I didn't have a 1.1 tip only 1.4. so I cut the media flow way back and thinned it 25% and and very pleased with the outcome.it came out a mirror finnish and I haven't even sanded and polished yet. I got some dust and a bug lol. But I sprayed inside a fiberglass shop so some was to be expected. I don't think I'll ever use All grip after using Allcraft. Can Allcraft be used for non skid?
Did you ever check your plastic mixing cups for being accurate on there measurements? I found them to be way off... There scale on the side is equal in spacings but the cup is angled not straight sides so that alters the mixing formula a lot check it out with a a true measuring cup you will see how far out those plastic cups really are...
Can you use a hvlp turbine system such as the fuji 5 stage to apply (think its 9.9 psi)? Would you still use the same needle and tip size as a conventional sprayer?
I'm confused. The Awlgrip website (Akzo Nobel) says that none of these products are to be applied "below the waterline". So how are so many of these TH-cam folks using Awlgrip successfully on boat hulls? I'd like to use it to repaint my Crestliner but the OEM guidance to not use below waterline is concerning. What "should" we be using below the waterline?
These products are only to be applied above waterline on the hull or the superstructure. Below the waterline you would typically use bottom Paints ( antifoul or Coppercoat )
But on the other hand if your boat is trailered or stored ashore then these topcoats are fine for the bottom. Just not if you are keeping it berthed in water for long periods.
I have used awlgrip for decades. When I get asked questions, I share this clip. On behalf of all newbie’s out there, thanks for providing this info!
Looking to learn
Can you clear over AwlGrip after it’s flashed off?

While Awlcraft 2000 is a softer paint than Awlgrip both can be used for non skid applications.

Scales are the only way to get it exact.

How long do you recommend waiting between coats for AwlGrip

What is the psi on the spray gun And what kind of gun
Can you apply more coats of Allcraft 2000? My shop is not the cleanest and I always sand and polish. So can 4 or 5 coats be applied with out fail?
The typical amount of recommended coats is 3, but 4-5 is completely fine to do as well.
What gun were you using?
One day I plan to walk away from spraying and become a rep/traveling tech. 👌

No mention of induction...
What is that?
No induction time on topcoats.
Bob needs to go back to math class.
It’s 25% of the combined paint and catalyst. 5oz paint 5 oz catalyst then 25% reducer 5+5=10+2.5 .
