Serana has a unique line of dialogue when you approach dwemer ruins where she'll say something along the lines of "This was a dwarven city, hard to believe they'd let it fall into this state.." inclining one to believe she was alive when there were still dwemer in Tamriel.

Honestly, Hert and Hern are two of the most interesting because they have an actual business in Skyrim. In Shriekwind Bastion, another vampire lair, there's an alcove in a certain room with a lot of various boots and shoes that puts Movarth's collection to shame. I wonder if it's a vampire thing?
Shoes are relatively small, useful to keep around, and are a very personal item to take from a victim. Shoes are a common item collected by serial killers. Its a trophy thing. Like how humans collect bunny feets and antlers from our own prey. And how the more ancient peoples of earth/old fashioned tribal people like native americans today use hooves as colletion items or instruments.

It is explained how Vyrthur got turned into a vampire, he tells Serana himself. One of his initiates (some kind of apprentice priest or something) was apparently a vampire. He probably made the water jug pilgrimage, like you did, which granted him the audience with the Arch-Curate, as Gelebor tells you. And then he probably attacked and thus infected Vyrthur. For someone who makes a lot of videos about "tiny details" you sure forget about some not so tiny ones.
Actually, when talking to the Arch Curate, he will say that one of the acolytes who just completed the walk through the forgotten vale approached him like any other acolyte, and then out of nowhere attacked him, turning the Arch Curate into a vampire
The most interesting vampire in Skyrim is definitely that Khajiit one. You know? The one that comes from Elsweyr, trying to illegally cross the border, and then discovers that has dragon blood and a prophecy regarding the very end of time revolves around him.
Hes not Akatosh. Auri El origin is entirely different. He was once a mortal, an elven king who ascended and teaches all elven kind to follow his steps to godhood. To become like they were in the beginning. Same with Syrabane, Xarxes, Arkay, Jephre. Mara is his wife so he can't be a "she". Nate maybe got confused because princes like Mephala, Molag Bal, Boethia and others are know for take different forms and genders.
@@MrChristophSteininge With the Deadra is pretty explicit they are almost all both male and female, but Auriel is more like a Divine, I thought they had a more defined gender, than the Daedra.
(4:00) What if Vigalmo is not a High Elf, but a Snow Elf? What if he's the one who turned Arch-Curate Vyrthur? We don't have the specifics of how Vyrthur was turned. (15:30) It would take powerful blood to turn a priest into a vampire. Just touching a shrine will cure Sanguinare Vampiris, so someone turned him instantly, like someone of the Volkihar bloodline.
... i feel like you missed a bit about Vyrthur... i remember reading or hearing from an npc in the game, (likely gelebor) that one of the acolytes underneath him was a vampire, and that's how he ended up being infected.
If you do another vampire vid, try to delve into Sybille Stentor's background. If there's any lore about where she came from and how she gained her position in Solitude, it would be fascinating.
Serana was trapped about 4000 years ago so it is clear that Vingalmo is at least 4000 years old. I also looked up to learn about his past since he is really interesting.
I'm a new subscriber and I've been seriously addicted to your videos since I found you. I listened to all the tiny details videos and the things you probably didn't know while also playing Skyrim at the same time. You're awesome man, keep it up.
Can we believe that this game was done in 2011...yet, it is still very much interresting to find out about it's lore. Books found in the game can basically be 'research' to find out certain truth behind characters, story events, and so on... I know Bethesda is screwing up big time in recent years, but man, just listening to you talking about Skyrim lore, just make me want to play it again... which i already did so many times already, i just cannot support talking to Balgruff anymore... yet, this game is just the most amazingly deep piece of life stealer out there... Your video are so interresting, your nice narration is always cool and on point, and the way you show the Skyrim world as if a real movie, documentory i should say, just make it more easy to watch. GREAT WORK!, you deserve it! And thank you.
i noticed that if you approach Garen after bringing Serana back to Harkon upon first entry,. and if your a vampire, Garen tells you to present yourself to Lord Harkon at once. Like he was expecting you. At least thats how it seemed to me. I noticed that every where i traveled thats a cave of dungeon, a swarm of BATS flies away and in the direction of Castle Volkihar. I think Garen is aware of what i was doing, since he seems to keep track of the Dragonborn.
I’ve got this personal theory/head canon that makes no sense but Vingalmo is a snow elf that found a way to disguise himself as a High Elf so the Nords and/or Dwemer couldn’t find him, maybe with a permanent illusion spell. I’m sure there’s a million ways to disprove it but idk I always felt like it fit with the theory that he wrote Night of Tears
Uuuuuh.... Nate, I think you might have missed something. Vighar does actually speak during this. It might not happen in the Vanilla game, but I run with the mod "Cutting room floor" which might have added his dialogue back in. Anyway, when you get up close to him, the vampire woman beside him will say something like, "Intruders, my Lord," to which Vighar replies, "Hold, my dear. Let the dogs take care of it." To which the wolves are released from their cage. I know it has little bearing on the rest of the theory, but this interaction is rather interesting, as it shows that there might be some familiarity between Vighar and his clanswoman. Perhaps she was even the one who dug him up?
My theory about the bloodlet throne vs Castle Volkihar is that both are clan volkihar, with Harkon ruling from the clans original Stronghold after conquering its original inhabitants, since his take over the clan split and now has two branches. One follows Harkon, a vampire of pure blood from Molag Bal, and the other is at Bloodlet throne, being descended from Lamae Bal herself as ALL vampire clans come from her blood. Harkon also was probably part of the Gray Host given his age, and Serana even hints that she predates the Cyrodilic empire as she doesnt know that Cyrodil is the seat of power, so she at the least predates Tiber Septim, and the most predates Reman Cyrodil himself.
Honestly, what makes Vingalmo creepy yet cool to me is that he 1) acknowledges if the dragonborn is married, and 2) tells you to turn your own spouse “for their protection”. Maybe it’s just me, but that’s what makes him so memorable to me,
One correction. Auri'el is a dude. He is literally the elven name for Akatosh, and Akatosh has been shown to be a dude. Just look at both Akatosh's and Auri'el's statues.
@@erikw.s.5209 Deadra are not the same as the Aedra. They are close cousins, but unlike the deadric prince's the Aedric divines cannot manifest as anything. With the exception of Talos who was definitely a nord man.
@@egedenizgogen7978 No I don't think so. Though he could have been a Breton, it is most likely that he was a Nord due to the fact that he was dragonborn. And up until the last dragonborn, Dovahkiin were exclusively Nords. Also, Skyrim was at war with the Bretons of High Rock before he took over Tamriel and Talos fought for Skyrim. Man I would love some kind of longer side quest with the Valerica. It just seems like there should be more to her character.
There probably was going to be... *sings* Cut content!
if you go back after killing harkon she got some unique dialogue
@@Balila_balbal_loki I have never thought of going back ... seriously, it's just dumb on my part. Thanks for the heads up.
@@zereaper13 It's just not fair. It seems a little silly, but for whatever reason she was one of my favorite characters for as short a time as she showed up.
@@Riverwind5 Yes, if you go back to the Soul Cairn and tell her that Harkon is dead, she'll actually leave the Soul Cairn and return to Castle Volkihar.
I never miss your vids. Thanks for the tips to spice up the game!
"She"? Always thought Auriel was a male.
@Oryx The taken king That's what made me think that...
Nate maybe got confused because princes like Mephala, Molag Bal, Boethia and others are know for take different forms and genders.
even Vivecs gender was not entirely fixed. And the game speaks of "daedric lords" even if they are decidedly female!
@@MrChristophSteininge With the Deadra is pretty explicit they are almost all both male and female, but Auriel is more like a Divine, I thought they had a more defined gender, than the Daedra.
@@evilkate9884 Wait so the bastard is basically a elven Talos ? Bloody hypocritical Thalmor.
YOUR VOICE IS GETTING BETTER BUT IT'S STILL PRETTY GODDAMN UNBEARABLE
WE BELIEVE IN YOU NATE, KEEP IMPROVING
I agree with you, Vyrther was way more interesting and after the Dawnguard questline, I felt there could have been more done with him.
Nate, I always look forward to your videos, thank you so much.
One thing I dig about Valerica is that, once Harkon is gone, she actually seems peaceful toward the Dragonborn.
Hey, Nate... Arch-Curate Vyrthur explains that one of his students were vampires and they infected him with vampirism!
... i feel like you missed a bit about Vyrthur... i remember reading or hearing from an npc in the game, (likely gelebor) that one of the acolytes underneath him was a vampire, and that's how he ended up being infected.
I wish vampires in vanilla skyrim had a more melee class leaning. I wouldn't have minded playing a vampiric redguard warrior.
Or you know give vampires CLAWS
Blade???
@@miguelnb1585 Why should they have claws in their normal form? They aren't Khajiits.
huh? skyrim is easiest when you are a melee character. two enchanted dragonbone daggers will make short work of everything.
Ah double Elder Scrolls Vampire videos in a day by the ES community, pleaasssinngggg XX
If you do another vampire vid, try to delve into Sybille Stentor's background. If there's any lore about where she came from and how she gained her position in Solitude, it would be fascinating.
Headcannon....
She was one of the Potema's generals but she survived and manipulates the Solitude royal family.
I expected most of the obvious vampires from the game but you found a way to show unique and intresting ones great job!
What is it
What is it
Yes?
Yes?
Done and done
Where you come from
Me:........
Thanks for showing my mother in law as the thumbnail, Nate... I'm sure she will appreciate that.
Me: Can you please load like a normal video?
This video: 3 seconds, take it or leave it
Butter Baron
Me too.
Even though the length of your videos set me aside at first, I always get hooked on to them and watch till the end.
i noticed that if you approach Garen after bringing Serana back to Harkon upon first entry,. and if your a vampire, Garen tells you to present yourself to Lord Harkon at once.
You should start doing character highlights, like explaining the backstory, motivations, and their story (however small) that takes place in skyrim :)
Last time I was this early, Talos was still mortal!
I love how the one vamp in Dimhollow Crypt thinks he can get Vingalmo’s/Orthjolf’s spot. Good luck with that buddy.
Nate will have content for centuries with how gargantuan Skyrim is.
Eventually he'll be doing Skyrim fo4 and tes6!
They can bend death but horses can bend physics
More importantly, how the heck did they fit those coffins into that trap door.
I never knew about the quest from Dengeir. This game is so big, I learn something knew all the time!
Creepy, dangerous Vampires: Exist
My werewolf Dragonborn: "I'm the one who bites"
0:20 why are Neloth’s cheekbones so A G G R E S S I V E
Something that's easy to miss : Vyrthur reveals it was he who let the devolved Falmer into the Chantry to annihilate the last enclave of his race.

I can’t wait to not listen to you and go after them 😂
this video released on my birthday. best present, thank you.
Last time is listened to this I couldn't marry Serana, so I'm going to pass
That's what mods are made for.
Honestly, what makes Vingalmo creepy yet cool to me is that he 1) acknowledges if the dragonborn is married, and 2) tells you to turn your own spouse “for their protection”. Maybe it’s just me, but that’s what makes him so memorable to me,
My theory is that the Bloodlet Throne vampires are/were part of Volkihar Clan, and are the only known ones to the writer/writers of Immortal Blood.
Tbh ur videos are so good like no joke
One correction. Auri'el is a dude. He is literally the elven name for Akatosh, and Akatosh has been shown to be a dude. Just look at both Akatosh's and Auri'el's statues.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who caught that
I mean...
If Boethia and Mephala can be genderfluid, so can Akatosh.
@@erikw.s.5209 Deadra are not the same as the Aedra. They are close cousins, but unlike the deadric prince's the Aedric divines cannot manifest as anything. Technically the divines should be planets and moons as that is what they are. So instead the divines have whatever appearance we give them, and the statues are the forms we gave them. With the exception of Talos who was definitely a nord man.
@@ararepotato1420 Wasnt Talos mentioned as imperial or breton?
@@egedenizgogen7978 No I don't think so. Though he could have been a Breton, it is most likely that he was a Nord due to the fact that he was dragonborn. And up until the last dragonborn, Dovahkiin were exclusively Nords. Also, Skyrim was at war with the Bretons of High Rock before he took over Tamriel and Talos fought for Skyrim. I believe it was the battle of Old Hrol'dan. If he was Breton I don't think he would fight for the enemy.
Vighar is the original Volkihar Vampire. If you hit him in combat, his name will pop up at the top right as "Volkihar Master Vampire"
If you do another video you should mention Babette. She is the undead embodiment of “ The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing “.
I love your videos! Keep up the great work nate!😁
Serana is the only vamp to not avoid.
"To avoid"
Me: *immediately goes to approach them*
Do a separate video about the volkihar clan if you haven't already
Never a dull video with Nate.
Imagine if there was a mod that had you infect all of skyrim (or at least a hold)with vampirism.
There is. Better Vampires
@@frogman72davitto94 Which glitches and crashes the game if you even attempt to turn more than a few npcs into actual vampires ( i.e turn on the race change option ) . Hell even creating more than a couple of thralls can do funny things to the game.
