Vampires are a race of immortal, blood sucking, undead created by the Daedric Prince Molag Bal. Vampires are especially feared because of their highly contagious disease they are all equipped with in combat. Vampires are high functioning, and compared to other undead, they are leagues ahead in terms of organized power. This video discusses the origins of Vampires, how Vampirism could be cured, the hundreds of organized clans throughout Tamriel, and the specific powers that all Vampires possess.

Yep, Nords as a concept is fun and all, but they truly have only gotten dumber as time goes on.
I mean, the early Nords (basically Atmorans) had better weapons, (they used Runes on them to make them stronger) a better and greater respect for Magic as a viable option of combat (or as they called them, Tongues) and well done architecture and certain mechanical designs in their Ancient Ruins that makes their modern tech/architecture pale in comparison.
Early Atmorans were a far better race in every way possible in comparison to the modern Nord. The Nords got smaller, dumber, and less combat capable than their ancestors, which is a shame since many Nords talk about their great glory days but they've diminished from them. Yeah they're a great Warrior race still in comparison to all the others humans, but the gap isn't as big as it used to be.
(Aside from a few notable ones today, the Nords in Skyrim seem to talk more of battle as a brute, simple concept and not as a greater discipline and understanding of their enemies or themselves)

Sanguinare vampiris is an off shoot of the volkihar bloodline last I checked, this could explain as to why it's pretty much exclusive to skyrim

I love the Vampire's in The Elder Scrolls,with the lore of their creation at the hands of Molag Bal and the various clans across Tamriel and how different they are in their tactics. My favourite are The Telboth Vampires from Valenwood with how they take the place of somebody in a family or group before lulling the group into a false sense of security before killing and feeding on them.

Just found this while trying to find information on vampires and it is one of the most informing videos I've seen! Thank you for revealing so much information from the Elder Scrolls that so much of us don't notice.
I wonder if any Vampire has had a spouse or partner that would willingly give blood to their loved one. Like a tamrielic Castlevania relationship where the bond is stronger than the thirst.
I'd find that fascinating to find a couple who are actively trying to turn the Vampire husband into a "vegetarian" for blood.
He could have been cursed with permanent vampirism if Molag Bal wanted to toy with him for trying to cast away his gift.
Food for thought.

Almost all my Elder Scrolls characters were vampires. The power increases, esoecially in Morrowind (where mods let you bypass the population's refusal to speak to you) are just too good. Skyrim challenged this with Lycanthropy, but then stepped up the Vamp game with the expansion that added lords.

If you like elder scrolls vampires I recommend you check out the Witcher's vampires as well.
I stumbled across this video, and this channel when I was researching for a new vampire build I'm planning for Skyrim.

The one thing I learned from this is that there are absolutely no consistent rules to vampirism in elder scrolls.

I really hope that they add a lot more features to vampires and werewolves in the Elder Scrolls 6. It would make playing as these supernatural creatures a lot more enjoyable and fun. It would also really be cool to have vampires and werewolves have their own separate quests
They do in skyrim mate u can become a vampire lord or a werewolf
It'd be cool, like vampire the masquerade, but ES vibe lol you can pick your clan since they exist and you're likely a random adventurer like in previous games, with your own set path

There ought to be a mod that lets us catch Noxiphilic Sanguivoria from Lamae herself. Vigilant just has her as a side-character and she doesn't infect you. IF she does, it's Sanguinari Vampiris, which doesn't really make sense.
Dawn/Dusk Fang is definitely my all time favorite weapon in the Elder Scrolls Series. A close second is Dawnbreaker.
I seldom find such perfection in narration, research, structure and overall passion for the art of Lore.

Ey! Vampire Knight music mixed with skyrim vampire lore! Heck yeah. So I've been looking for good lore for the elder scrolls and I have to say this is the best I've heard since Shoddycast. You really know your stuff girl! Plus you got good taste in your background music and amazing images to go with it. Its nice to hear a lore master whose voice doesn't make me wish for nails on a chalkboard lol. Keep up the good work!

I'd say the cyrodiil and rivenspire vampires are most civil indeed. Alva is one in Skyrim. And the Skynes are my favorite since they are very powerful and do despise molag bal and arkay both. If I play a vamp, I love walking in the daylight and just go rogue lol for lamaeeee

The reason why the Volkihar still had their vampirism is because Harkon isn’t the blood father, but Valerica and Serana are. Only women can truly be purebloods, Harkon only contracted vampirism from his family.
Where can you find them?
untrue. Harkon was given to him directly as well. He sacrificed 100 souls to Molag Bal to get his. Some clans/bloodlines just aren't cured when the blood father is killed.
Lady Of Scrolls voice is the polar opposite of Molag Bal on the spectrum of existence. Prime channel to listen to while falling asleep right here. Soothing.

I really love these videos, and I recently realised its because of how immersive they are. it feels like a youtube video I'd watch before entering a crypt if I actually lived in Tamriel
Yet again, another wonderfully crafted documentary of Lore. If you dont do it beforehand, maybe next Halloween you could do Liches or Lycanthropes.
I appreciate the lack of ads, so many TH-cam vids get ruined by excessive ads every 5 minutes in middle of sentences. Also a lot of the elder scrolls vampire lore is changed in skyrim and onward, there used to be distinct different types of vampires from each province. It's disappointing when things get dumbed down.

The eight divinities had flaws like everybody else.. Some deadras are not considered being only evil, think of Azura, Meridia or even Boethiah for that matter.
its interesting to note that vampires, or some other offshoot of them, can drink werewolf blood without becoming one.
I know this video is years old but I just have to say wow, the way you describe and relay information in full detail and spoken with perfect punctuation makes it extremely enjoyable to watch, you have a talent for detail oriented talking. Plus who wouldn't want to be a creature of the night.
I know this may not be related to the lore and more to the gameplay but one thing thats interesting to note is the differences in the vampiric diseases. With Sanguine Vampiris having less weaknesses to the sun but also less bonuses compared to the other strains such as Porphyric Hemophilia. Where the sun can literally set you on fire but vampires gain increased strength and intelligence.
Ooh, I could literally feel my flesh crawling as I watched this. It was a spooky feeling but also a heightening sensation, I love to be totally creeped out, it is fun to be somewhat scared!

Not all daughters of coldharbour have the ability to turn into a vampire lord, molag bal directly gave that ability to harkon, serana, and valerica, no other bloodline has that ability
Except for the Ashen Lord Rada-Al-Saran, Lady Thorn, Lady Belain, Lord Falgravn and High-King Svargrim.

I remember in Daggerfall I became a vampire. It reset all my relationships and I was a few levels in....so I reloaded. If it didn't reset relationships (Cus it is considered dead) or if I was bitten before I had really gotten anywhere, I would have stayed that way.
Being a vampire in Daggerfall is actually quite useful due to the disease immunity. Daggerfall's diseases are way more punishing than later games.

It wasnt exactly harkens blood line. It was his wife and daughter who were the true daughters of cold harbor
Well they were the sacrifices Harkon offered to Molag Bal, so it was he who founded the bloodline and becoming a pureblood.
While that is true he still isnt a 1st hand vampire turned by bal, he was still turned by a vampire. He just got the closest he possibly could without being turned by bal himself. From what I understand his wife turned him, meaning even though he might have turned the rest...it still started with her and would be her blood line, he is nearly the figure head that people more associated with the blood line because he was the one turning everyone else after getting the blood from his wife.
@@brandentempelmeyer4785 Nah, I'm pretty sure he got his vamipirism first hand just like his family, he just did not have to go through the ritual like the females. He sacrificed over a thousand innocents and worshipped, highly doubtful that he isn't even a pureblood, otherwise his wife would've been able to overpower him.
Serana said "the whole family took part in the ritual" so although harkon can't be a daughter of cold harbour I think he most likely had to endure some kind of trauma.... deadra aren't male or female so I doubt Mr bal would be picky

My skyrim character on the Nintendo switch is a Volkihar Vampire High Elf thanks to Harkan himself. I did get him all the vampire perks. His name is,Ortaza!
Finally, i found an elder scrolls lore series that doesn't beat around the bush with fancy writing and just gets straight right into the facts and lore.
