Chromatica is her most cohesive album for better or worse. It’s an enjoyable listen but I’m missing some of the experimentation and personality from her other albums. Replay is peak though.
I think it's still considerably experimental compared to other artists' albums. The classical interludes, 911, Replay, Babylon and Sine From Above are pretty experimental in my opinion. Again, compared to the basic pop most artists are doing. If you compare it to Björk, for example, then no lol
Gaga said in an interview that many of this songs weren’t meant to be this way, but BloodPop convinced her to make the whole album house. I think that’s the main reason she isn’t credited as a producer on many tracks.
the remix album is more experimental (hyperpop intense sounds). it was also a pet-project of the main albums producer Bloodpop. Gaga didn't have much of a hand in it.
@@dejw_skwell, she was writing Joanne during that era. She scrapped the song “the cure” from the movie, and used it as a new song for her Coachella performance
one of my fave albums by her tbh. She said she was in a horrible mental state making this album and during this album so she really just put a lot of her pain into this album.
I love how when she sings "I want your Stupid Love", she's kinda enunciating it wrong because she wanted to say "I want just to be loved"...she was suffering at the time

Lady Gaga has been pretty open about her own mental and physical health struggles. It affects many of us. It’s a constant struggle that requires constant care.
Something i love about Stupid Love is what she really means in the chorus is 'I want just to be loved' instead of stupid love. All of these songs were written on piano, so yeah.. sad tunes
This is my favourite Gaga album & I'm a little bummed you didn't enjoy it as much but hey ho. We're all entitled to our own opinions & life is better for having our own perspectives. I think this album is more unique in terms of it being almost storybook like where there is a narrative running throughout. It starts off with her falling down the rabbit hole of love & each orchestral piece symbolises a new chapter in her story. Yeah she might not have played around with the sounds as much as in ARTPOP but I don't think it would work well for the content of the music here. ARTPOP was a rebellious act, music defying boundaries so it fits perfectly there but not for Chromatica. Plus if you do want a more experimental ARTPOP coded Chromatica then Dawn of Chromatica is your best friend. Alsooooo while we're in our Chromatica era you're legally bind to film your reaction to the 911 music video. That has to be one of the greatest music videos to have ever graced the Earth.
Renaissance: a pure tribute to the house music and ballroom culture Chromatica: a pop-dance inspired by house music Both are on its respective purposes
Chromatica Ball is more worth it. Dawn of Chromatica is very hit and miss imo, and it was more Bloodpop's project than Gaga's. Gaga was only involved in giving permission for it to be made and that's it.
You're comparing Chromatica to Renaissance and saying Chromatica is a "basic" album, but without Chromatica there wouldn't be Renaissance. And by the way, half of Renaissance (or even more) has samples of other songs, so if you think that's being original...
Renaissance is inspired by a set of house sub genres that Chromatica doesn’t even touch. It’s a reach to imply that it somehow influenced it. Chromatica is also full of very obvious references to house classics so it’s also not entirely unique.
Eh, but it is basic. Gaga's Chromatica is her most consistent album but also the most "boring", for the lack of a better word, due to the very same consistency.
Actually Chromatica is about “dancing through your pain”. I’m glad she released an album like this cause you can celebrate your pain and let it go ✌🏼 That’s why it has dance music and the lyrics are dark.
I love watching people listen to this album for the first time, it really helped me heal and transform my life since it came out 2020. I love all Gaga music, but Chromatica has really been the soundtrack to my adult life. Cannot wait to see what LG7 brings
Chromatica ball is definitely worth watching, its one of the best concert experiences u can have at home, its edited very well, the choreography and theatrics are on point, the vocals are amazing as always, and there's a special surprise if u stick around till the end👀
I saw Chromatica Ball in London. Absolutely iconic. It doesn’t just have chromatics songs she mixes it up with her other songs too, including finishing with Hold my hand which isn’t on any of her albums so you may nit have heard it. You also need to react to the new song ‘Die with a Smile’ with Bruno Mars (especially whilst it is still hot cause you’ll get lots of views.) New son coming next month and new album early next year.
I had exact same reaction to the instrumentals, i was waiting for more of that on tracks and didn't really get it. This album still had some solid tracks but left me wanting the way other Gaga's albums didnt
Can we all just request that he makes a video reaction the 911 music video? Hands down one of the greatest music videos of all time. Please sign the petition in the form of a comment on this video & thank you in advance 😊
Love ur Lady Gaga videos!!! She’s dropping a new album early next year. Also chromatica sounds very fun and dancy but she recognizes herself that the lyrics are quite dark, but it was meant to be this way.
I really love your album reactions! I wish you could react to ROSALÍA - MOTOMAMI+ album... so many mainstream artists were inspired by this album in so many aspects like the music production, her tour, the whole aesthetic of the album concept. hugs!
Am I the only one who thinks it would be better if you just listen to the song without reading the lyrics? You're always getting spoilers of what is coming next, when the chorus is dropping, when the song is ending, what is she going to say etc. You can read the lyrics after you hear the music.
Do Dawn of Chromatica and the Chromatica Ball - this album grew on me - I have been an avid Gaga fan since the beginning, but it took a few listens, and seeing her perform it live that really brought me deep into love with Gaga sharing her pain and her hope through this music. The house beats may be basic, but the complexity of emotions someone goes through (with the mismatch of tempo and sentiment) etc. that is really powerful! Love your reactions so much - keep it up! ❤
Chromatica Ball please and in Dawn of Chromatica Lady Gaga invited artists to make remixes with her much more experimental songs, they are hyperpop versions
