During replay she sings: “Every single day, yeah, I dig a grave Then I sit inside it, wondering if I'll behave” This is her contemplation of living or not living anymore (self harm)
This interludes are also used in the Chromatica ball. I think maybe you didn’t realize it or remember lol If you listen to stupid love, I want your stupid love also sounds like “I want just to be loved” and I think it was purposefully written this way. I don’t think this was my fav Gaga lead single but over time I’ve come to love it more than I did when I first heard it Rain on me means like let all The bad because she’s going to overcome anything rhat comes her way. “I’d rather be dry but at least I’m alive, rain on me” like keep it coming, I can handle it. The song isn’t about love really at all, it’s more so trauma and life hardships. Ariana went through lost of loss and her concert had bombing incident so she’s been through a lot and so has Gaga. So this pairing was purposefully done to help each of themselves and they both could relate to each other The album might reference not having a man but that’s more of a statement in itself. Versus the overall theme is picking yourself up when you are very low and sad. It’s not always about a relationship. The album was made after Gaga didn’t want to make any music at all. So this is all about a world she created in her head (Chromatica) that dives into every struggle she has depression, trauma, being SA’d (being assaulted), and owning who she is
Fun tonight is written as a song you sing to yourself in the mirror so when she says you, she’s talking to herself. “I feel like I'm in a prison hell Stick my hands through the steels bars and yell What happens now I'm not okay And if I scream, you walk away When I'm sad, you just wanna play I've had enough Why do I stay? I'm feeling the way that I'm feeling, I'm feeling with you I stare at the girl in the mirror, she talks to me too”
Replay is about when she was assaulted by a man and left to get an abortion by herself which is why at the start of the song you hear a car go by, she was left on the side of the road just like the start of the song. it’s about her assault and that trauma deep in her mind and literally torturing her. I get you think it’s about a relationship because it sounds like there’s another person but this is about a non consensual act. She said it was a producer she was working with at the time and he would threaten to keep or burn her music if she didn’t do what he said. She has yet to name who this is because she has stated she’s not ready to face him in court.
A rare 1000 Doves enjoyer 😄 It's among my least faves of the album, but it's not bad. This was Dolby Atmos version of the album, right? Audio sounds better than on Spotify tbh... 🙈
Plastic Doll is such an underrated and interesting song because it's the ANTI-Barbie song. Like she is screaming to stop being treating like a Barbie. I wonder if this is how she felt with Chritian Carino another of her ex boyfriend right after Taylor Kinney but she was definitely not ready for a new relationship so it felt that he loved her but she didn't so he was overracting trying to treat her well but I think she felt overwhelmed that he was too much. So that's after all these breakups that she started working on Chromatica also named "Traumatica" by some fans because it got released during covid and it helped us a lot going through the pandemic! How many times I blasted this album stucked at home. She offered a crazy gift to us with Chromatica!
For me Chromatica is her most coherent album and you could summarize it by DANCING THROUGH THE PAIN! She didn't want to make this album at all because she was in pain! Her ex-boyfriend Taylor Kinney (he plays in Chicago Fire series) made her suffering a lot, he looks like the description of the perfect perverse narcissist... she was in her worst state ever when she was dating him. She got depression. A lot of fans are still in the denial about him because as every narcissist he looks like he is nice but he is clearly not regarding all the songs she wrote about him. Also she got raped by a producer when she was 19 and this trauma made her go through hard times. 911 is about the pain pills she is taking. Please react to the amazing music video and watch the music video twice during the reaction, you'll understand why this video is something else! So artistic.
I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend reacting to her Born This Way Ball concert next and im sure many agree! It's not only one of her best concerts but arguably one of the best produced concerts ever! Below is a Playlist with easily reactable segments of it! Like the stage was a giant freakin castle and she even wears a motorcycle in it! th-cam.com/play/PLJVw3RANQ8cdMJIojmVNO0a9-QNarx4J5.html&feature=shared

I felt this comment in my soul, all I did during covid was dance alone in my house to chromatica on blast 💙

Also she has fibromyalgia (pain in the muscles) because of all her traumas
